  • Wish Lancias were easy to get in the us :(

  • It was the Brute Group!

  • At 6:43 it shows how ultimate and experienced were these drivers.

  • Awesom!

  • S4 ftw

  • 03:09 rabbit

  • malcolm wilsons 6r4 after ditch reminded me of mcraes beat up mk1 focus mad max ish

  • xD Turn on the CC with audio transcribe. It's hilarious.

Correct: Marku Alen with all of his adrenalin pumping was blindly fast right from the start

CC transcribe: Popular land with all of that adrenaline pumping with finding the pasta right from the start.

    LOL, WUT?!

  • shit that cars fast XD

  • i think the "b" in group b stands for Balls...

  • This is real sport, f1 for babys.

  • 2:57 - 4:06 Is it from Valkeakoski? Looks suspiciously familiar.

  • Long Live the GROUP B Cars!! We want them Back! Today Rally is soooo booring, there is no interest in this event anymore, cars may go faster in overall but its just not the same feeling! Group B was another world, the sound of roaring engines, flames on their exhaust, the drift cornering, the jumps almost as they were flying, the awesome and Best Pilots to date, the body structure of the Cars!! These were the Heaven of Rallying, not the crap of today Ford vs Citroen junk battle......

  • Those were the days! proper drivers with tremendous skill and Balls.Gone, but never forgotten.

  • WRC for pussies...

  • 3:10 hey it's a deer that pass in front of the car??

  • Very brave bunny:)))

Of course sad for audi and group B in general.

  • 3.26 is like poetry.

  • Group B was the climax of rally.

Peoples went crazy to see those monsters.

What rally nedds now is something like Group B cars with modern regulations for spectators.

  • i am just 13 but i am going to by a 205 and build a reblica off the t16 :D

  • @rebelutionfan97 fail, you can't. the 205 T16 was mid-engined.

  • @Vallecrash well he could but it would take so much fabrication that he mays as well start from scratch

  • @ckeith1987 If you converted a normal 205 into a 205 T16 you would throw away everything but the lights and maybe the windscreen and build the rest from scratch.

    I don't call that a conversion...

  • Good stuff!!!

  • vx deadly in dzerdzhinsk

  • Excelente video!!!!! Eso eran rallys de verdad y no como ahora que son una pantomima. Los rallys de antes eran lo mas espectacular del mundo del motor. Si los rallys fuesen como antes dejarian pequeña a la formula 1. FORZA LANCIA

  • oh shit the lancias hurting poor thing rip lancia

  • katso kohta 3:13, jänis.

  • Group B rally was insane!

That much horsepower in such leight cars on gravel roads.

  • HEY CHAMP !!! u left your blinker on :))) 1:25

  • Modern WRC cars suck balls!

  • real cars, not mobile playstations. shame it all got out of hand. at the 1986 rally of portugal Henri Toivonen set a time on the grand prix circuit that would have qualified him sixth on the grid for the f1 grand prix

  • el mejor d todos es el S4 y el 205 t 16

sin dudarlo los demas son mitos

  • ehm... the Delta intergrale is nothing compared tp theese cars.

  • MG Metro 6R4 Forever....:)

  • @MrLesliedog12 ...yes great sound with the V6 but def not fast...!!!

  • the delta hf integrale it is awesome.

  • hte noise of the 6r4 is savage, better than any f1 ever

  • lancia is pos peugeot rulles

  • These old beasts must have been a real handful to tame and drive compared to todays lesser powered wrc cars with paddle shift gears etc

  • 6R4 sounds fantastic

  • 4:01 - beautiful...

  • i'm pretty sure that rabbit did too

  • im pretty sure these drivers had bollocks made of cast iron.

bring back group B i say!

  • Peugeot 205T16 EVO2

    What els..

  • 3:10 rabbit

  • this is when rallying was its best spectators ruined it the cars were real piece of engineering and not controlled by a computer its a shame that group b is dead Audi s1 was the 80s I was a major fan as a child and loved it

  • u tart

  • my dad would call you a pussy.

  • may be your dad should say this to Toivonen's mum. dead for you dad's fun!

  • he died doing what he loved. i would rather die in a rally car, than from natural causes.

  • ok, then go and watch some WRC 300Hp fly-by-wire shitcars

  • @gchelem I agree completely with what you said............only if you take out "DON'T" hahaha group B ftw :)

  • Well said my friend

  • you would have to be a bit mad to drive todays rally cars, but ud have to be a stark raving lunatic to drive theese :O

  • wow those things fly

i would very much like to drive one

  • What happened to Audi at this point?

  • Audi retired from rallying after spectators were killed at the WRC round in Portugal earlier in 1986.

  • it was their own bloody fault for getting so close, if it wasn't for muppets like that we could all go watch some group b today me thinks.

  • @tsport100 Shame they did or they'd be dominating current day rally and we would be seeing more of the classics even today and not just another saab/volvo/ford look-a-like. And wasnt really audis fault the driver hit spectators, and wasnt the spectators pretty much standing on the track? So was their fault too.

  • rs200 it first car that retired form this game of the gods :)

  • Yeah nowadays...think little, if nowadays would exist this same group b, then they would more powerful, because FIA didnt put any regulations, all free, you can do with car anything, just these days they didnt have more tehnology to build better car, but nowadays, they would be forestrockets, if somebody dares do ride theses beasts. But you cant say, wrc haves better tires, because they would to.

  • @Villu111 that's not true, they did have regulations back then. but there where alot of cheating and the cars did have alot more horsepower than they stated.

  • @strasse42 Super/turbocharged engines were un-restricted in Group B.

The class was governed by engine capacity and weight. The T16 and S4 were allowed 1785cc (forced induction) and 890 kg

  • @strasse42

Horsepower was open. You could run as much boost as you wanted as well, as tsport100 said.

Although the cars were considered dangerous the class done a lot for developments of what we see in sports cars today.

    I say BRING GROUP B BACK :D

  • Damned

  • I dont think they would... I think they'd go just as flat out as these guys do. They are racing at 'shit your pants' speed anyway...

Just because they are limited in hp now days does not mean that they wouldn't take the chance to race flat out in these babies if they could.

  • Who is the commentator?

  • Steve Ryder

  • these cars have raw power and these cars are much more difficult to drive than todays cars.these are faster in straight line but todays cars are faster overall because tyres are better and many other things

  • I would say that "its all about" whatever you want to take from it

I daresay there are thousands of GroupB rally fans that would say it's not about top speed, its about the smell, sound, power and general 'character' of each car. It's also about the driver's ability, and drifting.

maybe you should consider other people's opinions before slating them :P

  • i wasnt slating anyone , the man didnt even read my comment apparently , cuz he completely missed the point , all i was saying is that todays cars , from early 90ties onwards , have always been faster then group b cars , technology gets better and better , yes group b cars took way more skill , and yes it was way more spectacular to watch , but to say todays cars dont need any skill is overdoing it , drivers like burncs , mcrea , saintz , solberg , loeb all capable of taiming a group b monster !

  • yeah saying there's no skill, blatantly talking from his arse, the techniques are all the same. I think he reckons that and ECU controls the steering, brakes and throttle rather than reading sensors and controlling the fuel injection and timing.. but ignore him, he's got the wrong end of the stick

i don't reckon there'd be much in it between todays group A rally cars and the 80's group B. but if group B was still around today it'd piss all over them.

  • well i mean , surely they are easier to taim , cuz it s all so smooth these days , they barely go sideways anymore except on snow wet gravel and hairpin turns , but to be in the wrc you need to be REALLY good , and if your not you will be out in no time cuz you simply wont keep up with the phase , i think i can easily say that wrc drivers are the best in the world , i watch alot of race of champions , i m sure you know this , and loeb wins it alot , from names like schumacher etc !

  • around 3:12 : lucky rabbit :-O

  • the s4 still sings in my ear roar-screech-hiss we got what we wanted in 85 pure rush of speed

  • I was born too late.

  • me tooooo <: (

  • no...i was living then and saw that...if u were in the straight u couldn't see anything couse when ur ears told u that some1 is coming but onlything u could know was hellleva motor roar and stones beating ur body....damn fast

  • word...

  • @n1Erik me 2

  • Great!!! Magnetic fields pt. 1 + '80 rally cars= Brilliant mix! 100/5 stars and favourite!

  • Those Metro´s widebodys 4 small cars... WAU!!!

Those sounds make my spine shiver!!!

U gotta have so good reflec time...

  • Long live Group B. Such a sad fate for these cars and drivers.

  • damn that first peugeot even looks so agressive, those were the days in rallying :)

  • wheres are the audi's

  • those guys were men,and the cars nowadays do have better suspension and better torque and better downforce and better tyres and better downforce and better diffrential and better gearboxes..you know where i'm going with this.. Group B cars had the power and i mean the high end power...(400 to &650 horsepower) mileage or kilometers those drivers did in one weekend was ten times more than today, and they drove at night time also..there is nothing to compare..Kudos to all Group B drivers..

  • 3:11 Ahaha! The ultimate finnish rally rabbit, taking waaaay too much shortcuts. Got a laptime for it?

  • 5:38 -- the sidewalk is just another part of the course... =)

  • ¡En el 3:12 se cruza un ciervo!

  • ???

  • Yo no escribi esto. No se si me olvide de cerrar mi cuenta en un cibercafe o que paso, porque no es la primera vez que me pasa.

  • the rally golden age... sniff sniff

  • i can not believe that today`s wrc cars are faster than these ones

  • Today's cars are better handling than group B cars but are no way faster. On the straights the Group B's are much quicker

  • thats because todays car the electronics drive for you, in those days you had to really drive to keep the cars on the road.put todays guys in one of these car and see how long they last.

  • I love what you said :)

  • i m sure , very sure , any todays wrc driver , will manage a group b car , wrc drivers are the best in the business , i agree todays cars drive much easier , but to say it doesnt need skill or talent to drive them fast is nonesence , and about group b cars being faster then todays cars , only on the straights , todays cars are much faster in the corners , and corners is what rallying is all about !

  • Those Group B cars when you press the throttle its raw power going to the driven wheels without the ECUs approval, these cars now , ECU reads this and that and decides which is better to do what and senses which wheel getting more traction and send power accordingly here and there which is a bundle of shit. ask any of the drivers who drove both sets of cars, the cars then and those of today and let them tell you which were more exciting to drive.

  • it wasnt about whats more exciting , it was about whats faster , todays cars are faster , and you dont have to tell me what i allready know , todays cars are computerised , yes , and have anti slipp diffs , etc etc , why even comment on a thing you havent even read !

  • my point being skill was required back then and now all you probably need is a drivers license

  • wow , you really have no idea what your talking about , yes the cars are easier to handle , but try to keep up with the phase that the wrc drivers have , why the hell do you think wrc drivers are preased to be the best drivers around , cuz they are the best , i have no idea what makes you think a person that just passed for their license can keep up with them , haha , their pro s , seriously , you dont know what the hell your talking about !
