  • this looks more fun then WCS. but i dont know shit about the dances.

  • This is awesome.

  • Sure looks a lot like 6-count Charleston.

  • @monikaaaaaaa nope... it's East Coast. Please read the comments.

  • This looks like so much fun. :) I'm taking an intermediate ballroom class this term, and East Coast swing is definitely my favorite so far. I just love watching people dance when they look like they're having a good time.

  • Oh, and all you have to do is look at their 6 count basic of step-step rock-step....It's clearly East Coast Swing, and obviously there are other variations but get a life seriously.

  • Back when I first started swinging a few months ago, this video got me super excited every time I watched it! I just hoped I'd get this good. Total ECS nerd now, and my favorite song is still probably Mr. Pinstripe Suit! =)

  • these cats are good.

  • This looks like SO MUCH FUN. Also, they make it look so easy and natural.

Wish I was at that stage -- dancing for me is still watching for cues and trying to remember the steps and FORGOD'SSAKE-DON'TSTEPONHISTOES...

  • @christopherprouse - re the kicks - I think it's terrific! It comes out looking like Lindy styling, but much less effort (which is a good thing...)

  • Great dance guys!! We call that Double Time swing or Jitterbug. In East Coast Swing we use a triple step and slower music.

  • So AWESOME!!!!

you guys rock + the music was cash im downloading it as we speak :)

  • Great Dance. Is fantastic the big variants off balroom dance in the world. I invite all you to know some brasilian dances, especifically the FORRÓ, typing BRUNO e CRYS - FORRÓ . Thank you all and sorry any english error!

  • I'm the Treasurer for our Swing Dance Club here on campus, and I've danced swing dance now for almost, what? Wow, a year.. .. it's been a full year. Hard to believe. But this is an awesome routine, maybe a little work on frame, but overall? Fun and energetic and excellent. Good job!

  • Nice moves, and it's nice to see how much fun you're having. ECS has largely disappeared in Washington DC, replaced by WCS.

  • I keep coming back to this to watch the arguing. My favorite post was the one that said this "violates dance policy" or some nonsense like that. Hilarity.

  • this looks like SO MUCH FUN. :) After watching this, now I really want to try swing dancing!

  • Yeah I like the Flailing around to music discription. I'll use that in my classes. Terminolgy is important in dancing but we all have different levels of experience and backgrounds. I wish we could make it easier and we were all on the same page. Its never going to happen. I don't teach or quote east coast unless I'm cornered. Lindy I won't teach and I don't even understand the attraction. Its all art. Be you a finger painter or and abstract lover. Flailing COOL.

  • This is a great video and it looks like lots of fun. I like the music, too.

To all the 'experts' making negative comments; "Shut up and dance"! If you know how to, that is. Oh, and post a link to yourselves dancing, and give us all a laugh.

  • @salsaman247: amen! seriously, people who feel the need to be critical assholes need to first post a video of themselves doing the same thing only better.

  • Made me smile.

  • This is awesome!

  • Well i am no big dancer, but i just looked at your Lindy Hop vid , and apart from the music you would not know it was different to this ECS vid.

All the tuition ECS vids i have seen do a triple step rock step. Ok so it aint a tuition vid, So why confuse , just call it what it is, A swing dance.

I would say , Ceroc is not danced with defined foot work allthough some good footwork to the rhythm looks a lot better, than the sloppy footwork you mention.

Your steps in this vid were not defined.

  • @Kilhamjim Blah blah blah

  • @salsaman247 . Well Blah Blah Blah if you like. But look at the Vid title, East Coast Swing. That is not a triple step. Not saying it's a bad vid, infact i like it very much. But they should title it as it is.

  • ECS is an ongoing evoloution of dancing that refers to many styles of swing, which fit under the ECS umbrella. Strinctly speaking ECS refers to any swing dance that originated on the east coast. Every area seems to have their own actual definition for ECS, and i'm sorry, those funny ballroom-jive dancers don't own the name. Lindy hop is the true original "ECS"..

  • Swing started and remains a street dance. It does seem the dance sport ballroom crowd has stuck a broomstick up their ***** and do a robotic version of it. I'm surprised they don't have a strict tempo version of the music with all the soul sucked out. I'm not quite this hostile to ballroom generally but when they look down on the dance as it was developed and danced that ticks me off. Swing and latin dances started as street dances and the chains and ballroom crowd counterfeit a mockery of them.

  • @liveprime well said!

  • The arguing about this video is hilarious. They're not ballroom dancers, so of course it doesn't fit the strict definition of ballroom ECS. Call it whatever, its still swing dancing pure and simple. Show this to a dozen old timers and you'll get a dozen names for it. Ballroom's a different animal. It's a codified dance genre with a clear right and wrong way to do everything. Swing and Lindy Hop are street dances born out the improvisation of the jazz music that helped create them.

  • @NaptownStomp

You tell'em Naptown. Have to say, I am entertained by all the comments though. Catch ya at DetLX or Pittstop perhaps!

  • Can we just all agree that lindy hop is what everyone should dance, rather than watered down variations of the purest, rawest, american art form around?

  • @NaptownStomp

You tell'em Naptown! Loving reading all the comments.

  • @NaptownStomp

You tell'em Naptown! Have to say I am entertained by all the comments though.

  • As a top professional instructor I once again say this is not typical East Coast Swing.

You are not confusing me either! It's more like a 6 count version of Lindy Hop. If you are familiar with the history of swing dancing: Chafleston gave rise to lindy hop which spawned the various swing Dances: East Coast. Shag, Carolina Shag, West Coast, 4 country Country swing etc. During the disco Era I was one of the originators of the Hustle in NYC! That too went through changes from 1970 until now!

  • I am a professonal instructor with over 40 years of dancing experience.

This definately not East Coast Swing! It's more a variety of Lindy Hop.

While it is apparent everyone is having fun, the dancer's technique needs alot of improvement. You need to work on your connections, posture and framework!

But keep at it and you'll surely improve! Rating you all a 7 out of 10

  • @hustledancer1 It's actually a variant of East Coast... instead of "step, step, rock-step", we add kicks for flare and it becomes "kick, kick, rock-step". I can switch back to regular steps at any point... ie. "step, kick, rock-step"... "kick, step, rock-step"... "step, step, rock-step"... "kick, kick, rock-step". The timing is exactly the same, it just looks different, which often confuses people... even dance instructors :P

  • @ChristopherProuse that was a very gracious reply you gave :) Thumbs up for being decent on youtube!!

  • @ChristopherProuse Yeah, you're for sure wrong. East Coast isn't a "step, step, rock-step", it's in fact based on a triple step and a rock step. You are doing a some sort of (if any) Lindy or Single Step Swing. The only people this "confuses", or more appropriately misleads, are only the most uneducated of dancers.

Moreover, I find you arrogance insulting to those of us who have spent countless hours studying and training in ballroom dance.

  • @HighT3chR3dn3ck lol, it's East Coast, and so is the timing/ count. You can do East Coast with triple steps, single steps, or in my case Kick-steps. If you'd like to see some Lindy, you may enjoy my other swing dancing video featuring Lindy Hop! You said it yourself, you're a ballroom dancer. Ballroom.

  • @ChristopherProuse @ChristopherProuse @ChristopherProuse I was wrong, you're ignorance on the subject is not only insulting, but it's really quite unbelievable. You've also shown yourself how ignorant you are. E.C. Swing is a part of ballroom, it's in the American Rythm catagory and competed in professionally along with the ChaCha, Rumba, Bolero, and Mambo.

Here let me refer you to some ACTUAL E.C. Swing.

    youtube.com/watch?v=mcVAKUNrKzE

  • @HighT3chR3dn3ck I'm ignorant?! Lol, I suggest you look up East Coast Swing on Wikipedia, and read the last part about how single steps can be replaced with "kick-steps". Read it a few times if it doesn't sink in. But I can already see you're too emotionally invested to continue on arguing and you need to put aside your ego. Furthermore, the link you sent was dull and boring in my opinion. They look like robots dancing around... very unimaginative and not much fun. Lighten up.

  • @ChristopherProuse Wikipedia? Are you serious? That's your reference? Now I know that this is not an argument I can win b/c you're basing your argument on an article that has no citations what-so-ever. Clearly you have no REAL references as to what East Coast Swing is.

I have no problem with people that are "just dancing for fun" or people being innovative in their dance, but I do have a problem with people that spread lies and misinformation. Call it what it is, flailing around to music.

  • @HighT3chR3dn3ck Your view/ opinion of wikipedia is full of hyperbole. In actuality, the vast majority of it's content is regarded as accurate, because it's fostered by a tight-nit community that takes what it does seriously. Moreover, I don't need to cite sources for something that's commonly understood as such. The dance instructors who taught me are just as qualified, if not more than the ones who taught you. I dance East Coast Swing with kick's... deal with it.

  • @ChristopherProuse

Is a 'tight-nit community' lots of idiots who don't like to spend their money, or head lice standing close together.

    Just a bit of fun!

  • @HighT3chR3dn3ck around here, east coast swing can be done with single or triple step. we tend to have faster music here and i find it easier to take single steps. i don't know why there is so hate to this or any other dance clip. sure, in dancing, technique is important but what is even more important are the emotions it conveys.

  • @daveheel Again, obviously nohting is going to convince you all that you are wrong. Arguing with ignorance or faith is futile. Continue on your path and may it bring you enjoyment and fulfillment, regardless of how hollow it may be.

  • @HighT3chR3dn3ck lighten up and check out more than ballroom. i dance ballroom myself and love it but there are all types of social dancing. you should inform yourself about the origins of swing dancing and most of it looked more like this than the kind of swing done in ballroom. besides, what makes you an expert?

  • @hustledancer1 wo care looks like they both had fun it is not how you dance but how you have fun .. it was a social dance not compatition.

  • I mixed this video with the Jackie Wilson song Higher and Higher and have watched it probably a hundred times. This is great dancing! It may not be proper and techically correct but it is the best dancing vid on youtube. You guys are awsome and my hat's off to you guys. This vid just screams fun ......Keep up the good work.....Eric

  • @jonequest82 Thanks! Glad you enjoy it :)

  • Nice dancing.

  • Nice!

  • Awesome to watch!

  • a question... yes...this is east coast...6 steps for 6 beats. but isn't this song an 8 beat, for which lindy would be more appropriate? please educate me. and you start with the kick step...with which i'm not familiar in what i do know about east coast... please explain? thanks!

  • @dvnwrrr in essence, all swing music is 8 count. when you use 6-count moves in 8-count music the 6's don't match the 8's so you might rock step on count 1,3,5, or 7. not a big deal. lindy typically incorporates 6-count and 8-count moves.

  • Bravo! I'm working on choreographing an East Coast routine for my dance class, and this video is very inspiring. I love how you mix in fun stylistic variations--unlike some other commenters below, I think that greatly enhances the energy and musicality of the dance. Fun stuff!

  • Love it. All of you so called "pros" and instructors need to back off. They're having fun, thats all that matters, and if you disagree, I think that you should look into a different profession and leave the dancing to people who still know how to enjoy it. I just recently learned the east coast swing and even I can tell that that's what they're doing. LOVE IT! KEEP IT UP!

  • kick, kick rockstep....kick, kick rockstep..it s ECS, I learned this variation to, nice video

  • I am a Lindy Hop instructor, and I would not call it Lindy Hop either, because the Lindy basic is 8-count and this is all 6-count, plus the Lindy basic is only done with kicks occasionally for stylistic flair--HOWEVER, that is not particularly important. I's a fun dance that people are enjoying, and with SOCIAL dance, that is what matters :)

  • @rapakivi1 The Savoy Style Lindy Hop is 8 count, but the kick basic is a 6 count. Wow, forget it. If all you assholes favor being ignorant, enjoy your mediocre dancing and mediocre lives! Oh, and by the way YOU ALL SUCK!

  • I am not any dance instructor, I do not know how to dance Charleston or swing, but this look amazing. You are looking amazing ! Very well done ! Thank You for this.

  • @XtremeDance10 How can you say mixing dance styles is wrong? or "against dancing policy"? It may not be traditional or 'proper', but most non-professional dancers are doing it to have fun. If it wasn't for experimentation, new dance styles would never be born. And who is better at trying new things than college students?

Finally, @delerium0727, screw changing the video's name/description. This is the internet, not everything is perfectly described here.

  • This is not east coast swing.. for crying out loud., i am a pro instructor how can you do that kind of thing? mixing it like that, is a wrong thing. against dancing policy

  • @XtremeDance10 Yes, it's East Coast... just with kicks instead of steps.

  • @ChristopherProuse No, XtremeDance is right, this is not East Coast Swing. East Coast Swing has a very high standard because it is danced in the ballroom world. I am unsure of what style this is but it is most likely a more original or pure form of swing. Perhaps a spin on Lindy.

  • @XtremeDance10 is this jive?

  • @XtremeDance10 this is east coast swing, christopher is correct. east coast is, at its core, slow, slow, quick-quick. the 'slow' steps can be TRIPles, triPLES, kicks, step-hold, you name it. this video is kick-step, kick-step, rock-step, a form of east coast.

  • @delerium0727 Lol... you may be a dance teacher, but it is in fact East Coast swing. The only difference is, instead of the regular "Step, step, rock-step", our club ads a little flare with "Kick, kick, rock-step". It's just not all that common, which tends to confuse people.

  • @ChristopherProuse - looks great!

  • @ChristopherProuse Then that's not East Coast Swing. Not only is the basic different, but it's danced to slower music. This is more Rock 'n' Roll or Jitterbug.

  • @delerium0727 - so what?! Dance teacher since 2001? how long have you been an A-hole?!

  • @delerium0727 this is east coast swing, christopher is correct. east coast is, at its core, slow, slow, quick-quick. the 'slow' steps can be TRIPles, triPLES, kicks, step-hold, you name it. this video is kick-step, kick-step, rock-step, just a form of east coast. east coast was derived from lindy hop, the two are related.

  • Where can I find a girl like that?, She's hot and I want one! Does she have any sisters?

    By the way.....great dancing!

  • Great dancing guys! This was the first dance I learned 12 years ago and I learned it with this same style "kick step kick step" and that's the way I always liked to do it! The teachers then said the kicks were more of the charleston and lindy style. It always did feel more energetic than the flat "step step" version and I never cared for the triple-step version. The kicks always really livened it up!

  • i love this!! I've always wanted to learn how to dance east coast swing that would probably be the easiest for me:) considering i am terrified of doing the tricks and air steps.

i really enjoyed watching them two dance it makes me want to learn now badly.

  • Love the energy here, and looks like a lot of fun. keep dancing....

  • I'm new to ECS too and I have to say that it is the most fun of the "ballroom dances" that I've learned in the last 7 weeks. I really enjoyed seeing this because now I have some steps to ask my instructor to teach me. :) Looks like you all had a blast! :)

  • I enjoyed it!

  • I am learning swing at the moment, but I was wondering, i learned tripple step, tripple step, rock-step, but I don't see the tripple step in yours. Is it due to the speed or are you doing a single stepp instead? Would love to know :) Love the video by the way

  • @coussasimov the most common way to do east coast swing is step, step, rock-step; but there are lots of fun variations that make it easier to dance to different tempos. a couple examples are step_tap, step_tap, rock step; kick_step, kick_step, rock-step, and the triple step one you mentioned. the interesting thing about the triple step variation is that depending on the styling you do and the music it can be either east coast swing, west coast swing, or 6-count lindy hop.

  • @coussasimov You use triple step triple step rock step when you dance to a slower songs. Instead of one-two, you go triple step triple step

  • @tumsabai1 Ummm, most people seam to think it's energetic and fun. Criticizing someone's video when you don't have any posted of your own, and then advertising a tacky website makes you look like a douche. By the way, I just watched some ceroc videos. The footwork in ceroc looks really sloppy and out of sync between partners, but I guess that's why it's so easy. East coast swing with fast footwork in time with your partner looks much more sophisticated, and requires more practice / skill.

  • @ChristopherProuse this guy posts that same comment to all the swing videos on youtube. i honestly love swing, and think that this was a great video. great choice of music too xD big bad voodoo daddy

  • @ChristopherProuse I like east coast swing. It's one of my favorite types of partner dances

  • @ChristopherProuse not having any videos posted of your own doesnt mean your an expert, but doesnt mean your not either. perhaps someone has a good suggestion. though this comment is just rude.

i have to say though, you have to have been watching the wrong video's. look for a good couple dancing a good jive, and you'll be amazed. Modern Jive comes with a lot of kicks and points, while east coast swing is more "swing" with footwork.

Jive as a whole concerns both modern jive as well as swing!

  • @tumsabai1 well sir this is what to me swing is and it started here in Harlem NY city in the 30s ... The late Frankie Manning was one of the best swing dancers in the world.

  • @tumsabai1 Jitterbug is originated from the US. If they dont dance it in the US, then it is not original swing then.

  • Hi Christopher, just watched your video. Loved the dancing, loved the song! Well done! Looks like you enjoyed every moment of it, which is what i think this dance is all about...I'm part of an Australian dance troupe called the Sydney Swing Katz and we do east coast swing as well. You should check out some of our videos.

  • A-W-E-S-O-M-E ! ! !

  • great!!!!!

  • This video is awsome!! I love how you are both enjoying yourselves and keeping the rhythm. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy rocks!!

  • I've been doing ballroom dance for three months now, but I sure as heck wish that I could skip all the beginner stuff and learn THIS! It looks like so much fun! I hope that once I know how to do all of this, I dance with a partner leads as well as you do. Keep on dancing; you're fantastic!

  • Best video ever and i mean ever thanks for posting

  • i love this video my absoulute favorite thing to do is east coast swing at my school i have a really good p.e. teacher that also teaches swing because he and his wife met in a swing danceing class so he teaches us and i have always loved in fact i have taken at least 5 swing dancing classes and my p.e. teacher says im really good

  • Nice! I'm used to doing more aerials than anything else, so it's refreshing to see some cool moves to try out on my feet.

  • Looked, good, not anything super difficult but tons of fun, keep it up!!

  • Wow this was really interesting to watch....

The only sucky thing is youtube decreased the quality.... But good job.

  • Very Nice!

  • I feel bad to the 2 couples behind you. They dont get the beat lol

  • This is my kind of swing dancing. I pretty much know 90% what they did. But now most of the time when I hit swing dancing clubs, most girls only know how to lindy hop. It is very hard to dance with them when they only know lindy hop. And I dont know how to lindy hop :(

  • @schwettytires you need to learn lindy. it's incredible and there's so much more freedom and room to express yourself and the music than in east coast swing. I'm also curious as to where you're from? I've never heard of a place where lindy hoppers out number east coasters. not that I disagree with you.

  • @barlin07 Denver, Colorado.

I meant all the ones that know how to dance, they usually do Lindy. Sure there are more beginners (first day or 2nd day dancing) that do regular jitterbug.

  • you were AWSOME!!!!! swing dancing is just to fun!!!!! the world cant live without it!!!! i've loved swing for many years, but i never actually tried it. this year, im watching movies and videos on youtube to learn. im also gonna take some lessons at my dance school. im already doing jazz, tap, and musical theatre. and this is my tap song! great moves.loved it!!! :)

  • i live to swing!!!!

  • Over two years later, and this is still my favorite East Coast Swing video on the internet. The level of excitement, style, and fun captured here is simply unmatched.

  • Thanks :)

  • @tvincentchase This is not East Coast Swing, this is a form of the Lindy Hop. "Kick Style" -dance teacher since 2001

  • @delerium0727 Lol... you may be a dance teacher, but it is in fact East Coast swing. The only difference is, instead of the regular "Step, step, rock-step", our club ads a little flare with "Kick, kick, rock-step". It's just not all that common, which tends to confuse people.

  • @ChristopherProuse No, in fact it's not. You can't believe everything you see on youtube or Wikipedia, since neither are validated sources of information. Go to a studio and learn from Pro's who actually KNOW what they are doing, unlike these idiots.

  • I'm a new dancer and I'm curious, why do you keep your rockstep behind your other foot? It looks awkward and difficult to regain your balance afterwards. Otherwise, you are crisp and certainly know your moves.

  • Some might say it's a bad habit, but I think my style evolved that way because it felt less rigid/ boxy. Traditionally, when a lead does a rock-step back onto their left foot, they also lift their right foot off the ground. When I rock-step, I move my left foot behind me, but tend not to lift my right foot up... but rather put my weight on it, almost as if I'm balancing on my right foot. My right heal might come up a little during the rock-step, but most of my weight's still on my right toes.

  • Lindy Hop.

  • Actually it's East Coast... the kick-steps trick a lot of people. Instead of "step, step, rock-step" our club has its own East Coast style "kick, kick, rock-step". The kick just adds a little flare.

  • Wow very awesome stuff! Glad you put this on you tube for me and all to watch......CHEERS!

  • I really like watching you two dance. My wife and I took lessons about a year ago. and we loved it.

  • I started trying to dance in my chair while watching this -- your enthusiasm and energy is CONTAGIOUS. What a blast! Where can I learn this?

  • Glad you enjoyed it! ...you may find swing clubs or dance instructors in your town who can teach you. Many universities run clubs that are open to the public too

  • @hortondlfn Community Ed Centers, a few clubs, Arthur Murray or Fred Astaire dance studios, and most independent studios as well. Just google "swing dancing" then your city and state! Good luck in your search for swing!!

  • Comment removed

  • This killed my buzz quick.

  • Wow! I was trying to decide what kind of dance classes I wanted to take: East or West Coast swing. You decided it for me! I know I will never be that good, I just want to have that much FUN!

  • Glad you enjoyed it :) ...you'd be surprised at how quickly you learn if you stick with it for a few lessons.

  • Holy cow--that was beautiful. Loved watching the life in the two of you! Great job.

  • ummmm..... thats lindy hop not east coast

  • Its actually east coast, but with "kick steps" instead of regular steps... i.e., the "step, step, rock-step" is replaced with "kick, kick, rock-step".

  • Well first it was the "Jitterbug" then the "lindy Hop" but then both of the dances were combined for the east coast swing..or something along the lines.

  • i think east coast swing is far superior over west coast swing

  • me too!

  • i agree

west coast swing is like.... jazz dance for couples. ew.

  • i'm a two time placing US open swing dancer that mainly does east coast. (i hate lindy hoppers, it's a fight my bf and i have all the time) and this has to be one of the best dances i've seen:)

  • Thanks! ...that means a lot to me ;)

  • great job but i think it's more than east coast from what i've seen and learned. there are a lot of little kicks here.

  • Holy sh*t... I've been taking east coast swing lessons now for 3 years and I don't even compare to that... I see a few moves in there that I know, but I'm really gonna need to get a move on in order to become that good. I love this vid so much that I'm gonna watch it hundreds of times til I can learn some of those moves.

  • hehe, glad you enjoyed it! ...I had a lot of fun playing around with new moves and adding our own unique twist

  • Awesome guys!!!!!!

  • I'm honestly impressed! The local EC venue in my area has kind of spoiled EC for me. I generally prefer Lindy and Charleston, but you guys made EC look good, which is something I haven't seen in a long time! You guys broke away from the stiff ballroom form and made this dance fluid and fun. Thanks for posting this.

  • Very nice. =D

  • Man. I can't even see what kind of steps they are following in this dance. It looks so complicated.

  • Nah it's easy lindy hop

step kick, step kick, rock step

  • Lol. After taking a few ECS classes and practicing a bit, now I see the 6 count lindy. Nice!

  • No, it's not lindy hop. Lindy hop is an 8 count, step, step, triple step, step, step, triple step.

    It's east coast swing

  • I love this!

The title East Coast Swing doesn't do this justice. East coast swing is something ballroom dance instructors invented to capitalize on the popularity of swing back in the 40s.

This isn't east coast swing, this is something much better. Please post more.

  • Fun!

  • Very nice!! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has some great music to swing to! I'm learning to swing and I definitely prefer East Coast swing to West Coast! Its so much more fun!! But very very nice guys!!

  • So great guys! Reminds me of the swing club I went to in college before people started bringing in Lindy--nothing against Lindy, just the snobbish it's-only-right-if-you-do-it-this-way attitude that some brought with it.

    Swing is about fun!

  • Comment removed

  • East Coast dance is by far SOOO Much better than west! XD (and the music swings harder!)

  • That was incredible! I'm just learning East Coast Swing and I'm loving it! I hope I get half that good someday...

  • Great video, guys. It was fun, and really helpful for picking up some new moves.

  • Red Hot kids,

Dig the laid back style. Some pro dancers look way uptight. Too smooth, keep it up.

  • Searching for some Lindy hop videos I took the time to see this East coast swing. Loved it. Good work boys and thanks for posting the videos.

  • what song is this?

  • nevermind.

  • Big Bad Voodoo Daddy : Mr. Pinstripe Suit

  • Tighten up and you two could really improve. She is stepping too far away from him. He is a lot better than her. Also, for those who have questioned it this is definitly single east coast swing.

  • Definitely 6 count East Coast Swing with the exception of a few measures of 4 count (1:57) which fit well into the flow. I like your kick-step style, it adds a lot of life to the dance.

I have this video in my favorites and have added a couple of your moves to my East Coast repertoire. thanks

  • I agree this is definately not lindy, the foot work is ecs and charlston.

one comment quiet down your hands. if your follow is truly following(not following some chorography) she will have a hard time feeling the subtle que from you.

    enjoy your enthusiasm.

  • My kind of dancing- the joy is soooo apparent! Love you guys.

  • I'm so happy to see you guys out there doin this and not in triple step! I hate triple step east coast, you guys look fantastic!!

  • triple step actually will smothe out your dance. gives more steps to do turns, ect in.

I use to do only single step. now mix it up slower music gets triple, faster gets the single. not always but mostly. this song is still doable in triple step

  • Yes, of course it is, I just don't like the look of triple step. I think it should only be used in lindy.

  • Awsome!!!!!!!!!!

    Please add more videos!!!!!!!

  • lol... trust me, this is 6 count east coast... our club just styles it a little differently. Instead of the traditional "step, step, rockstep", we do "kick-step, kick-step, rockstep" for some added flare.

lindy is an 8 count... and you can do lots of aerials with both :)

  • I learned this back in high school, but we didn't have the same foot movement as you do. I actually like this version better. Very Nice!

  • wow, you're very good. i'm taking east coast lessons with the fiancee. its fun. i want to be good.

  • this is dance is one of the coolest dances ive seen, im ganna ask my parents if i can take some dance lessons for this dance

  • So awesome!!! I have watched it about 50 times and never get tired of it. I am trying to incorporate some things in my dance moves. THANKS!!!
