@peppermintcat i believe "no pay, no gain' is applicable everyone, you ask Phelps, he got so many gold medle, is it just because he is lucky?usually, they like it, then they chose it.no pressure, no progress，then no beautiful dancing. you ask dancers all over the world if they have pressure？if they do like it, they will not choose it.and if you want a beautiful result, you have to experience the tough process.not chinese dancer...everyone.

the story of this dance is basically that one soloist girl who has her own views on what dancing should be, and the others try to force her to dance and be like one of them, even though she doesn't want to...and in the end, they accept her for who she is, and life's good!(: our dance company danced this.

This should be a adaption of ballet Raise the red lantern, which is a adaption of movie Raise the red lantern too.

It helps you understand this dance.

The key person behind this is Zhang Yimou (director of Hero, the house of flying daggers, Road home and opening ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympics).

However if you are, I'd like to suggest you to check videos how Zhang Yimou and national ballet of China made the ballet from the art house movie that has won a lot of fans in Europe especially in British and France. Makes one think, this kind of elegance. Defiantly should put raunchy cheerleaders to shame. It's not meant as JUST dance. It's a story. Of what? Maybe triumph over the harshness of reality, or how harmonious life can be. But, it much more then just dance. Truly beautiful <3 (Ps I am NOT dissing all cheer leading. ok. if you want an amazing experiance... and i usually do not like it when people over rite the original music... but if you have two tabs up. have them both on youtube of course, and you play this one.. put it on mute. put the other page on : Winter Song - Sara Bareilles/Ingrid Michaelson- Music Video ... put this video so you can see it. but listen to the other song. start both at the same time. and watch the dance. it is unbelivable. the only downside is the song ends before the dance.

this dance is about a class at Sichuan Dance Academy. the choreography is so precise because it is made up of all of the routines and training they do in class. notice the class picture at 6:45? these girls spent years together training and dancing everyday. the bonds between them are so strong!

At the beginning it's a bit slow. Then the other dudes come rolling in. The music starts. The main two dancers in white gradually and gracefully execute the introduction. A variety of dance moves follow and I think all together it's wonderfully executed, brilliant :D
