There's about a half on octave difference in pitch between the 2. Take a Beatles recording from before and after 66 and you'll find that the harmonics are different. Different harmonics means the voices are not those of the same man.

Holy shit there's a huge difference, regardless of how many years apart or the technology, the original Paul McCartney had a deeper voice, and as you get older your voice is suppose to get deeper not lighter. So don't give me that well this 10 years later he's going to sound different crap.

There voices might sound different because in 1966 the technology was not as advanced and he probably couldnt hear himself singing it so it would be rougher. if you listen to the 1976 version and the album they sound the same

I've researched this for a couple of months..Here why this whole mess gives me heartburn...There is a picture of Pre Nov 1966 Real Paul wearing boots...CLEARLY states size 8 on boot..ok??? In circa 2009 Fake Paul donated a pair of slip on shoes to charity..size 9.5! I've got to put my 2 cents in here...I listened to this video no less than 3 times with my eyes closed..Fake Paul has a different voice! His voice is higher..distinctly different! Real Paul's voice is lower, much deeper...Real Paul pronounces the words a bit different too! I am 100% convinced that these are 2 different men! I had my wife & 17 year old daughter listen..they also believe 2 different men here...its obvious!

There's about a half on octave difference in pitch between the 2. Take a Beatles recording from before and after 66 and you'll find that the harmonics are different. Different harmonics means the voices are not those of the same man.

what? it's the same voice. people go too much into detail. If you look at every single detail in it, of course there will be differences just like any other man and woman. people gain a little weight, lose a little weight, voices never stop changing. It was probably much easier for Paul to naturally have a high voice in 1966, and it sounds different in '76 because he might've had to kick his voice back up to that level, and it's not like he's trying to match his exact tone and pitch from '66.

Watch the way Paul uses his Rt. Thumb while playing the guitar. There's no difference. Paul is singing in a different key...he is older...maybe Paul had some plastic surgery on his face. But I cant see how two people can have mannerisms so identical without it being the same person.

In the '66 vid Paul plays bass. In the '76 vid he plays acoustic. That's the difference in playing style. I think it's the same Paul but there are some scary changes in Paul's appearance from '66 to '67 that I have a hard time understanding. If anyone could pull off a fake Paul it would be the Beatles. But I'm not sure the fake Paul would have continued touring. He could have been found out to be fake. Then all hell would break loose. Not worth the risk.

Besides, when it comes to having a different voice. A human voice never stops changing and mens voices go through the most changes. Try listening to an 18 year old talking and then a 30 year old talking. Or recordings of the same person at 18 and then at 30. You'll easliy hear their voices aren't the same.

It's a rumour that's been going around for almost 50 years. A politician could pull that off because they have the money and the contacts for it but if people really knows beatles history, they'd know that the fab 4 didn't have a lot of money in the 60's. Epstein wrote a bad contract and they often said them selves on tv interviews that they were broke. So how on earth would it be possible to keep this lie going for 50 years without it being exposed for the truth.

See, you can't compare them fisically from 66 to 76 because a lot of plastic cirgury was done on Faul. The best way to compare them and to notice the replacement is if you see photos from 66 and then see photos from 67...TWO DIFFERENT GUYS.

Eric doesn't make a definitive statement, but doesn't rule out the possibility that Paul was killed.
I think it's obvious that Paul McCartney was killed, since so many musicians were killed around that time. Also, a lot of later Beatle songs were pointing to the fact that they were bitter with their situation. And John later wrote Bring On The Lucie.

James Paul McCartney was an EXCELLENT guitarist (the solo from Taxman anyone?) who only started playing bass out of necessity after Stu Sutcliffe left the band. And like Francis166 says below- back in the beginning Paul didn't look at his guitar AT ALL when playing beautifully arpeggiated versions of Yesterday. This guys plunking away & looking down every 5 seconds.
Find some photo comparisons of Paul & a guy named Phil Ackrill. Look at Ackrill back in the day & compare to Macca now.
