  • I just found out you were the "middle-man" for Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno from 'The Incredible Hulk' a couple of times. That is awesome! That was one of my favorite shows!

  • Journey and Madonna - awesome.

  • Great video Ric and are those your two boys at the end ? They must be married by now....how time flies ! Thanks for the memories you bring to us of a Golden Age never to return.

  • @fschlaff

    they're 33 and 30 now and I have 3 grandsons.

  • Ric, What gear were you on during these days

  • i was born in the 80s even i remember it was more fun back then hehe

i would LOVE TO SEE MORE of your bicep workout..

you are one of hte few people that seem to have great biceps and brachi i have seen

  • What happened to the rest of your shorts Ric?

  • @a68rebel Boy I can tell you weren't around in the 80s.. that's the style then, before that it was basically posing briefs in Venice durning the 70s

  • ric--i grew up in the san fernando valley in the 60s and 70s and used to watch the wrestling shows on ktla with dick laine, and you were my favorite wrestler, i still remember you getting sleepered once and never forgot you had probably the best abs and body in the biz, no one compared or even now compares. i also saw you once in a deli in the valley with a couple beautiful women! glad you had a great successful life ever since! i miss the old wrestling days!

  • lol at the nigga pickin' his nose

  • ...

  • get bigger shorts gosh

  • @masterlouism97 Wake up.. That was the 80s... everyone wore them. Where were you? Not born yet?

  • Was that tony atlas????

  • Who is the girl 5 seconds into the video standing behind you Ric? Amazing body on that girl. I'm surprised you could focus on your training lol!

  • @strengtholdschool I was dating her for a few months at that time..

  • @ricdrasin

Nice. You have good taste in women. She anyone famous?

  • @ricdrasin lol bro

  • @ricdrasin ric were you using test here?

    or natural?

  • @TheRogueMonk i watch this video time after time and you look great!

    how tall are you?

  • I think incorporating the two together works best.

  • ric, what is your stance on the whole nautilus v free weights thing?

  • Sad that these gyms dont exist anymore

  • @JCanmor

i know i went to gold's gym the other day expecting it to be filled with big bodybuilders, and half of it was a bunch of fat soccer moms watching tv in front of the aerobic machines, while the other half was 98 pound weaklings doing bicep curls in the squat rack lol

  • Fantastic shape!

  • @dianabol75 Absolutely the juice does help. I went off everything for 5 years and ran 2 miles a day. Still maintained my bodyweight at 212 and was very muscular. I wanted to prove that I could do without. When I first began training, I gained very fast and did powerlifting. My abs were good and I was muscular. Never took anything back then and in fact didn't even know about it. Good training and diet was the key

  • good work ric

  • good work ric

  • great video!

  • YOU LOOK BIG RIC, HOW MUCH WERE YOU WEIGHING THERE? BTW I AM A NEW FAN OF YOURS AND I WATCH RICS CORNER BEFORE I WORKOUT EVERYDAY. THE INTRO'S ARE HYSTERICAL AND EVEN FUNNIER WHEN YOU POINT AND SAY THANK YOU HAHAHA!!

  • Ric, I sent you email on here..did you see it? Thanks.

  • @DanManSF Never got it? You sent to my private email?

  • Hi Ric, i would like to thank you for making all those videos on bodybuilding, com in ric's corner. Just out of curiosity did you ever see Arnold or any of the others take many steroids back in the 70's???

Im 16 at the moment and have studied anabolic steroids theoretically, and they don't seem that bad. I really want to try a cycle in 6 or 7 years, until then i am going to lift naturally.

  • @Hugeguns16 Everyone took them and it's still the same today. Tell a bodybuilder something will make him grow and he'll do it. Moderation is the key

  • Hey Ric would you train someone to be a powerhouse wrestler as well?

  • @Coldstonechampion Well you'd have to live near me and be able to afford training. Otherwise it wouldn't work.

  • Hey RD you teach Wrestling but can you teach and train people to become bodybuilders, weightlifters, power lifters or lift heavyweights just like you?

  • @Coldstonechampion Yes, I did it for years but enjoyed the wrestling end more.

  • lol I hear Journey playing in the background. Funny that gyms still play that same music now, decades later. I can't say how many times I've heard that song in the gym.

Also great to see Ric demonstrating good form and ROM on all his lifts. Definitely a good example for newer bodybuilders to follow.

  • Liam form Ireland here, love all your videos Ric.

Would love to meet you one day Ric, sound like a great guy, great mentality to bodybuilding. Chicken and rice on me, when we meet. :)

  • just a shoutout Ric, thanks for posting the videos, nice knowing about the beginnings of modern bodybuilding. I think it's way too chemical now, but i think many including myself consider this the prime of BB. Good luck with everything!

  • ric for chest which 1 do u think works your muscles better the bar or weights

  • I like to divide it up between bar, dumbells and machines. That way you get it all.

  • Haha, thats some awesome shorts you had there Ric! x)

  • Everyone wore those in the 80's. In the 60's and 70's it was worse. Posing briefs in the gym......styles change.

  • haha ok. I meant no harm to your shorts with my last comment, just so you know. They look awesome. :)

    Keep posting!

  • Hey Ric. Reminds me of everthing I am not..damn

  • When you did a cut in those days, were you guys into carb counting?

  • Always watched the carbs

  • Did we know each other back then??

  • This is the Drasin I remember from the YMCA, in Bakersfield, in the late 60s. I was in Jr High and there were some great Powerlifters at the YMCA. Many wonderful memories.

  • Nice vid. I remember you on the wrestling circuit about 30 years ago. Any footage from that period lying around??

  • Man in short shorts = bodybuilding, basketball, volleyball, Olympic Lifting, Wrestling etc.......Not gay......"Hole in the wall" gyms are the best, Gold's once was one......

  • Thanks for your comment. It was fun in those days because the wall phone in the gym would ring and it'd be a TV show wanting bodybuilders. We did all kinds of roles and Mitizi along with Cher, FLip Wilson, Johnny Carson were just a few. Money was good and then back to the beach. It led me into a real nice career.

    Ric

  • Yeah, things change over the years and then everything comes back again. Back then even ARnold sometimes wore posing briefs in the gym and almost everyone trained barefoot. We were one block away from the ocean so after training we all took a run by the water. Those were the days

  • ABOUT RIC - He was my introduction to bodybuilding, the first I'd seen in motion. My folks forced me to watch a Mitzi Gaynor special with them (as gay as it gets) and all I remember is 2 things - my mom mentioning that if you stuck a wick in that woman's face it'd burn for a year, and the sight of her waltzing around Ric and other bbers. Inspired me to hit the iron myself. THANKS, RIC! Pleasure to peruse your site, you're qutie a personable and articulate guy!

  • ABOUT THOSE SHORTS - Absolutely not gay, everyone in the early- mid-eighties wore 'em, even to class (Florida)! Frankly, if I looked even a tenth as good as Ric I'd have worn 'em 24/7! But those spandex shorts guys wore a few years later? Never! Much worse!

  • Doing fly's with ELO's Showdown playing in the background.....sounds like a perfect day. Ric was killin' em

  • Nice to see his actual appearance back at the time of Prometheus on the Hulk. You are the man Ric and was awesome as the demi-hulk.

  • That guy is jacked.

  • Wow! nice shorts! If men wore shorts like that today everyone would call them gay! lol

  • Nice. I'll never forget Ric Drasin as the demi-Hulk in Prometheus.

  • respect

  • Nice old school gymn(and shorts!), BTW where was Steve's gym ,located at Ric? Did you design any t shorts for him??

  • That was the style back then. Dolphins or addias nylon shorts. Everyone wore them, but if you went to Golds in Venice, they became even breifer. They wore posing trunks to train in. Speedos

  • its funny because now its the biggest and baggiest pants you can find

  • nice, hecka old school.
