  • What would be the guitar-equivalent of this? Something that I can program guitar in FL Studio with...

  • Comment removed

  • Why put this up with the drums so quite??? weird... cool guitar demo in the begining....lol ... kick sounds like dog shit

  • @MrBJSampson never heard dog shit through a mic, but I think its caused by the youtube-quality ;)

  • Hey check out my video, i thank that i ve got a great sound there;) Keep rocking

  • Snare is crap. Actually overall really weak sounding drums.

  • @worshippriest you're judging the original preset ;) it was my first test of this software with the one-disk-version, just to show the quality of the audio-records and variety of sounds .. listen to my song "digital sky" for one preset of mine ;)

  • @worshippriest Check out my demos... You can do a LOT with these software from Toontrack

My Drum Recording Demos - 100% Software / 100% Real-Performance, using mainly EZX/SDX and NI Abbey Road (many different styles) (erase the ***)

  • All the kick drums that come with Metal Foundry sound horrible.

  • Sounds amazing! I've been looking at new drum software, I think I just found it!

  • can you please upload the preset ?

  • Genialer sound! Gibt's noch mehr? Spielst du in ner Band?

  • @Tangakkai es gibt auch richtige songs von mir ;) aber nein ich spiele nicht in einer band momentan

  • dude this shit DO sounds real!

did you added some fx to your drums? love the guitar sound too

  • @SpanishDrumHero of course! EQ Comp Gate Reverb etc. most included in SD2.0 ;)

  • @Amorphous333 i meant some external fx. anyways ty. keep it true ;)

  • @Amorphous333 What is EQ comp gate reverb used for??? Secondly, Did u use any tablet or what? How did ya make this drum sounds so good?Just by mouse? Please reply XD

  • @zubingala1 yes its all done "just by mouse" ;) for the effects you better ask google^^

  • @Amorphous333 WHAT???

Just by mouse? How is it possible to drum this faster with just a simple mouse??? XD

  • @zubingala1 I meant that I created the midi files with my mouse xD I could have used a tablet / keyboard / etc too ;)

  • yeah! yeah! yeah! excellent sound quality guitar drums

more botos you master well overdue

  • does it come with grooves?

  • did u pan the kickdrums?

  • sick !!

  • How do you create your drums ? do you use programs like guitar pro to track the drums?

  • great job dude!!, do you have that preset yet?? if you have it, could you share it with me?? I loved that snare sound, and I can't reach that sound in specific u.u

    greetings ;)

  • I dont like the drum sound overall, the snare drum is not cutting at all, the same with the bass drum... despite of that I dont like SD2.0 very much, I prefer BFD2

  • @mqmqmwmw yeah i use bfd2 and my mate uses addictive drums, we both get pretty fantastic sounds and the options for mixing are much better in both imo.

  • @mqmqmwmw Uh dude...this is only one preset, and one snare, and one mic. You can change it all.

  • yeah dude.its very cool)))

  • great music I saw your myspace and I am facinate for your work

  • @R1krd2 thx man! but my myspace site is old, I have to update it soon and I will upload some new videos here soon too!

  • con que software grabaste la guitarra???

  • i´m brasilian. What bass do you used this sample?

  • @DavisMelo09 a five string from "stagg" .. not a good one^^

  • Good stuff. Influenced my Insomnium by any chance?

  • gotta admit, i like the tones!

  • I have owned The Metal Foundry for about 2 months now, and I still dont know how to create my own beats and grooves

if you can somehow explain to me this process, it would be greatly appreciated

  • @AshesToFlesh yeah man, you need at DAW to program the notes that superior drummer plays. heres the typical misconception most ppl make about sd2.0, it does not send any signals anywhere. its recieves signals and uses it as input. but enough of that, this is what you need to hear... get a program like fruity loops, set up sd2.0 as a VST instrument. and use the piano roll to sequence it, cheers!

  • bass sounds terrible!

  • Hi, i install the superior drummer 2.21 and the first DVD from the metal foundry addon.

I can use the drumkit from the metal foundery, but i cant see the Metal foundery libraries or even see the superior libraries entry in my superior drummer...i only see my old grooves from the ez player .

    why?

Have i to install the full 35 gb to see the superior libraries from the metal foundery.

can some one plz help me ...thx

  • ah..sorry no midifiles ..i see... but there must some ready drumparts..or? i mean i need the groves from it like in the ez player...where i can such diffrent fill in , 1/2 , 4/4 drum parts etc...do u know what i mean? how can i find them in the superior drummer...

  • 300.000 midifiles ? and where can i find them? i mean there are complet sets? are these no midi files? so how can used the in the superieor drum vst?

  • mhh. i only install the first dvd form the metal foundery...but i cant find any new midi groves in my lib from superior drum?? why ..have i to install the full 35 GB PAck? or on wich dvd iare the midi files? plz help

  • there are no midi files on any dvd

  • @Amorphous333 are you shure? i think there was a map MIDI somewhere.

  • @PuppetGovernmentLV if you mean a midi map, this is something different than a midi file ;)

  • @Amorphous333 I'm sorry, i mean map called MIDI. And after instraling Superior Drummer I got Metal Foundry midi files inside in EZplayer.

  • @PuppetGovernmentLV I'm pretty sure that there are no midi files delivered with the metal foundry but if you really find some please tell me ..

  • @Amorphous333 hmm... realy i checked my M_Foundry disc 1 and there is no map with midi files. But i got after installing 4x disc in my midi library map - 00003@THE_METAL_FOUNDRY.

Or maybe i got it with midi pack found in internet.

  • can you get this for a mac?

  • More cowbell.

  • Do you have to run this through a host program?

  • Hey mate, can you upload this drum preset? It sounds so cool.

  • watch this, the link is in the info

    y o u t u b e . c o m/watch?v=dPWLfzzDygw

  • @treadtheblood i was totally gonna say that,,, cool :)

  • amon amarth. first thing that popped up in my mind when i heard the intro

  • haha same here dude XD

  • Great! But where is the hi hat pedal?

  • Put the kicks up the middle, and they will gain alot more body. The way they are now, you are going to loose them in the stereo imaging of the track. The frequencies of the kick are a-stereo anyway (they ears dont register them in stereo, as it doesn't matter where they come from, the ears perceive it as bass and click, not panned dimensions). After listening to the drums only, that is my opinion as to why the kicks are being buried.

  • How much memory did it used?

  • The bass drum doesn't have middle tone cut so it has a lot of click. Try reducing the click a bit so you'll balance the tone. Cut the bass-mid tone frequencies (+4,5 dB, -4,5dB) for example.

  • the problem is, when I reduce the click you can't hear the bassdrum in the complete mix anymore..

  • Aha, that's other problem. You need to re-phase the bass frequencies. Set the kick drum between 20-1000Hz and the bass guitar should differ from that range. After that you can reduce the click and make the cut so your kick will sound more pro ;-)

  • well this is my old configuration, listen to my new one its better ;)

  • @Amorphous333 yeah fuck that then

  • @Amorphous333 ah well i think ill e fine without it then how much does it cost just for reference.

  • what is this. someone told me that i can use my triggers on my acoustic drumset and just dowload these sounds exlain to me what this software or whatever is. thanks

  • toontrack never ceases to amaze me -_-

  • Did you use a preset on it?

How did you write your own beats? That isn't the midi files you get with it, or is it?

  • no and no ;) i did it on my own

  • how?

  • midi editor??

  • Like in cubase on a grid or what?

I do not know what a midi editor is

  • yes I use cubase and its just a grid where you put "dots" into ;)

  • BFD had its own sequencer

and under humanise had an option

ti move the beats off for a selected amount

    it was perfect

    i miss that so much

    it sounded so real

Do you know if cubas5 or nuendo4 have any of those options??

    im on nuendo3

    thnx

  • @powerdesa

    Sonar 8 has similar options

  • btw

i just noticed that the bass pedal is a little stereo

    nice effect :)

    wide

  • Can you write drum tracks in Guitar Prp and export it as midi and drag and drop it like you can on EZ DRummer?

  • yeah but you will need more editing afterwards to make them sound good

  • Yes

  • real good demo of the software but WHY did you pan the kick left and right?! eurgh! lol

    nice one tho.

  • VERY Amon Amarth sounding.

  • yea yea^^i got that but i just sounds funny:P

  • nono, I did this! has nothing to do with the program^^ I just thought it could sound cool, but later I realized that its too much panning ...

  • yessss, sounds like a realy slow boat engine...

  • then its not that easy at the beginning

  • are you familiar with those vsts or less?^^

  • I use the midi editor in cubase, but its some work ... you could also play the drums on a keyboard or use any other midi-input

  • Do you have any presets you could link me to?

I just got it tonight and I'd rather just play a good preset tomorrow night instead of fucking with it for hours.

  • i like to write my midi files in guitarpro

  • You can use the midi fingers forgot who make them. There's a black guy name finger's bla bla that's like a guru on the finger triggers but you can use that and it will play as fast as your fingers can move.

  • Comment removed

  • I was just wondering if you actually need an electronic drum set for this or if you can do it all using the computer because i'm looking at getting this and just matching it to an acoustic drum set, but i don't have an electrice one

  • everything you can hear in my songs (the drums) is made "by hand" .. because I dont have edrums yet too ..

  • So you used ready made midi patterns and put them together, or you actually created the beats yourself? If you wrote them out what program did you use? I have tried making my own beats in Abelton Live but it tends to take a lot of time, especially because it's metal where drumming is as complex as it is.

  • yes I did it all by hand in the cubase midi editor, it takes some time you're right^^ but you can copy many things and then just change little things and as you can hear it is possible! :)

  • you can easily get any sound you can dream of ;)

  • cool!! hey what is your config in the drums and the snare?

  • it was an individual config I made but now I have a new one

  • i think i'll buy this cool stuff, but is it easy to use? :)

  • This drumkit sounds really awesome! is there any differences between ez drummer and this?

  • a quite big difference^^

  • the snare is amazing. great punch.

  • Did you pan both bassdrums? (left BD left, right BD right?)

  • Amazing, i really like this one!

    7/5

  • great outro!!!!

    =)

    subbed!

  • kicks are fuckin amazing.

  • Hey, great demonstration, great riff! I think I have to get this programm too, now ;-)

I really like your guitar tone too! You wrote that you use a toneport gx, so do you use any expansions for the gearbox software, like metal pack or anything like that? And what guitar/PUs are you using? I have an Gibson Explorer and also a Toneport UX2 but I never got a good tone out of it ;-) Sorry for that many questions and my bad english! ;-)

    Thanks in advance!

  • Check my vids, they are all recorded with the ux2.

you can get VERY decent tones out of it if you know how to use it..

  • dann sprich ruhig deutsch ;) also ich hab ne ibanez rg und benutze die ganz normale gearboxsoftware. leider ist meine soundeinstellung verloren gegangen beim neu aufziehen aber bin dabei eine neue zu kreieren..

  • well I use an audiointerface called toneport gx, pretty nice :)

  • whered the guitar sound come from? did you record it or does it come with metal foundry?

  • no mate you record the guitars and bass work from an audio interface like line 6's toneport or an m-audio interface. record di's of the guitar work and then reamp them through a reamping plugin - example amplitube metal

  • ahh I thought so. IT woulda been cool if it came with a bunch of guitar riffs to loop. instant jam session.

  • sounds killer!!

  • How did you download this from the homepage? Was it free?

  • if you bought it you can get a demo

  • whats better in your opinion this or drumkit from hell, because i have dkfh and dont know if i should upgrade

  • This is better than DFH by all accounts, because DFH uses pre-processed samples (all samples have been EQ'd until they sound a certain way) instead of letting you process the sounds yourself and therefore you can't get a very good sound. Superior and S2.0 let you do it yourself, which is a far much better feature.

    Hope I've helped :)

  • alright cool, that does help thanks dude

  • Yes, but I already solved the problem. It seems that I used MS GS wavetable instead of Asio.

When I'd put the settings to Asio, I didn't get any sound, but I saw the meters move. It seemed the program automaticly used SPDIF, so I had to turn off SPDIF and voila, it worked!

Thanks very much for your help and time;)

  • When I hit the drum pad, I can see the program (almost) reacts without latency, but the sound comes about 0.5 seconds later.

  • you have asio 2.9? this is important

  • Almost 0.5 second. I have a Creative soundblaster audigy OEM, i'm using the game port, 2.2Ghz quad-core CPU, windows vista, ASIO4ALL v2.

The strange thing is that soundfonts work perfectly, using the same settings

  • Dude... You probably need a good interface... With real ASIO drivers... M-Audio makes good soundcards...

  • Hi, I just got Superior drummer 2.1.0 with Toontrack solo 1.2.1. The thing is that I have a delay (latency).

I've got ASIO drivers installed and my soundcard drivers are up to date. Do you know how to solve this? (Great song by the way)

  • you cant have no latency, but it can be nearly 0, how much do you have? what soundcard? what cpu? windows/asio version?

  • wow, nice song!

  • I'm guessing you can modify the sound of the Kick drum? Cause everything sounds GREAT, except for the kick really.

  • yes, sure, this was only my first kit I created and just a quick test ;)

  • hey man - great sound there! could it be possible to upload your guitar settings? would really appreciate it!

    (sorry for my english!)

  • how did u record the guitars?

  • I use the line 6 Toneport Gx

  • Dude... This reminds me of a song called "Hold Back the Day" played by DevilDriver... Liked it...

  • great, reminds me on amon amarth

  • Did you write that song? I'd love to hear a full length version. Sounds awesome.

  • yes its my creation, but its not (yet) a song, just a little riff I played .. I think its kinda amon amarth^^ maybe it will become a song soon ;)

  • Nice one, very well programmed. I got the full metal foundry not too long ago. What toms and snare are you using?

  • Some out of the box presets in metal foundry almost sounds already like Chimaira, which is great

  • It's cool, but I think this is not a good example how metal foundry sounds, I'm experiencing a much more phatter/realistic sound. (out of the box, for example: just with the "Texas Metal"-preset)

  • well this was just my first test after one day I had the foundry .. I have a new video which is better, and there will be more in future, when I have a bit more experience with it ;)

  • WOW Thats so killer dude keep making videos please!!

  • how did you recorded the guitars man?

sounds pretty tight, nobody could tell if the drums are real or programmed

  • thx man, I recorded the guitars via "Toneport Gx" from Line6 ~60$

the drums are programmed by hand, but I'll buy a keyboard soon, so that it will be more easy for me

  • niceeeee
