I dont like the drum sound overall, the snare drum is not cutting at all, the same with the bass drum... despite of that I dont like SD2.0 very much, I prefer BFD2
@mqmqmwmw yeah i use bfd2 and my mate uses addictive drums, we both get pretty fantastic sounds and the options for mixing are much better in both imo.

mhh. i only install the first dvd form the metal foundery...but i cant find any new midi groves in my lib from superior drum?? why ..have i to install the full 35 GB PAck? or on wich dvd iare the midi files? plz help
@Amorphous333 hmm... realy i checked my M_Foundry disc 1 and there is no map with midi files. But i got after installing 4x disc in my midi library map - 00003@THE_METAL_FOUNDRY.
Or maybe i got it with midi pack found in internet.
Put the kicks up the middle, and they will gain alot more body. The way they are now, you are going to loose them in the stereo imaging of the track. The frequencies of the kick are a-stereo anyway (they ears dont register them in stereo, as it doesn't matter where they come from, the ears perceive it as bass and click, not panned dimensions). After listening to the drums only, that is my opinion as to why the kicks are being buried.
The bass drum doesn't have middle tone cut so it has a lot of click. Try reducing the click a bit so you'll balance the tone. Cut the bass-mid tone frequencies (+4,5 dB, -4,5dB) for example.
Aha, that's other problem. You need to re-phase the bass frequencies. Set the kick drum between 20-1000Hz and the bass guitar should differ from that range. After that you can reduce the click and make the cut so your kick will sound more pro ;-)
what is this. someone told me that i can use my triggers on my acoustic drumset and just dowload these sounds exlain to me what this software or whatever is. thanks
You can use the midi fingers forgot who make them. There's a black guy name finger's bla bla that's like a guru on the finger triggers but you can use that and it will play as fast as your fingers can move.
I was just wondering if you actually need an electronic drum set for this or if you can do it all using the computer because i'm looking at getting this and just matching it to an acoustic drum set, but i don't have an electrice one
So you used ready made midi patterns and put them together, or you actually created the beats yourself? If you wrote them out what program did you use? I have tried making my own beats in Abelton Live but it tends to take a lot of time, especially because it's metal where drumming is as complex as it is.
yes I did it all by hand in the cubase midi editor, it takes some time you're right^^ but you can copy many things and then just change little things and as you can hear it is possible! :)
Hey, great demonstration, great riff! I think I have to get this programm too, now ;-)
I really like your guitar tone too! You wrote that you use a toneport gx, so do you use any expansions for the gearbox software, like metal pack or anything like that? And what guitar/PUs are you using? I have an Gibson Explorer and also a Toneport UX2 but I never got a good tone out of it ;-) Sorry for that many questions and my bad english! ;-)
dann sprich ruhig deutsch ;) also ich hab ne ibanez rg und benutze die ganz normale gearboxsoftware. leider ist meine soundeinstellung verloren gegangen beim neu aufziehen aber bin dabei eine neue zu kreieren..
no mate you record the guitars and bass work from an audio interface like line 6's toneport or an m-audio interface. record di's of the guitar work and then reamp them through a reamping plugin - example amplitube metal
This is better than DFH by all accounts, because DFH uses pre-processed samples (all samples have been EQ'd until they sound a certain way) instead of letting you process the sounds yourself and therefore you can't get a very good sound. Superior and S2.0 let you do it yourself, which is a far much better feature.
Yes, but I already solved the problem. It seems that I used MS GS wavetable instead of Asio.
When I'd put the settings to Asio, I didn't get any sound, but I saw the meters move. It seemed the program automaticly used SPDIF, so I had to turn off SPDIF and voila, it worked!
It's cool, but I think this is not a good example how metal foundry sounds, I'm experiencing a much more phatter/realistic sound. (out of the box, for example: just with the "Texas Metal"-preset)
well this was just my first test after one day I had the foundry .. I have a new video which is better, and there will be more in future, when I have a bit more experience with it ;)

Almost 0.5 second. I have a Creative soundblaster audigy OEM, i'm using the game port, 2.2Ghz quad-core CPU, windows vista, ASIO4ALL v2.
