I hadn't heard anything about paint being thrown until now, nor seen any videos of any protestors throwing.. anything really. I'm willing to accept they MIGHT have, but I prefer to not jump to conclusions. And if they did resort to that before the police started firing rubber bullets and teargas etc. at them, then I don't think they deserved that harsh of a reaction, but they certainly could have handled it better. The idea is PEACEFUL protest, and most places have managed that pretty well.

Well I would have to agree with Tony. These protests accomplish absolutely nothing unless they are LARGE in number. I'm talking 100s of 1000s. Otherwise, it hurts the cause.
The best solution is to create a bargaining chip. Congregate and organize...kinda like a union. Decide on how you will demand (not ask) change. Use boycotting as your weapon. Close bank accts. Stop shopping at big stores. There is a lot that can be done when organized. You become an entity worth bargaining with
