  • Steal the world and the money stashes of the capitalists who rob us daily by forcing taxes on our heads!

3 cheers for The Pirate Bay and Megaupload and the similar sites.

  • Abundance = Choice, Sharing, Copying & Inspiration!

DRM = Another great way of promoting artificial scarcity. Suits doesn't get this cause they think money equals progress, which it has done little by little, but now it's trying to stop it. If the price establishment is for progress ask yourself where those non-fossil fuel vehicle are in mainstream. Internet/piracy is not about making money it's about creating art! And there are people from all over the world creating without asking for a buck.

  • Great documentary.

  • 3:21 you know guys? I can't really afford to buy your dvd or go to the movies. In all honesty I Wasn't going to watch it. But it was free so I did and a lot of movies on TPB are great consider it free publicity.

  • I would love to see the movie industry and record industry go bankrupt and vanish. Independent films and musicians are the best.

  • @pcpik3r technically, yes. Anything copied from someone is turning illegal, because the people who made the film are only getting your money, not your friends, so they are loosing out, and when an artist loses out on money from copied discs, it is classed as piracy

  • @pcpik3r technically, yes. Anything copied from af

  • On what grounds did police raid pirate bay servers. They hold no copyrighted content, just shortcut files for p2p protocol transactions.

  • So tell me is this piracy?: I have a dvd i that i bought leagally, i lend that dvd to my friend, now we both have seen the movi and we both can see it again, but only i paid for it. is this piracy? no but torrents is just this on a larger scale. these people make hunderds for their media anyways. let the people have their media.

shit , torrents arnt gonna stop anytime soon, just like when the actavation code was added to windows os, shure it slowed us down but we just found a way to get aroundit

  • who is that 15 year old rap genius at 41:46 ? damn, is that freestyle? woah xD

  • So many people just dont get it, you cant support the artist by buying a legitimate copy because there is no mechanism to give them payment without rewarding those who have been exploiting artists and destroying creativity for far too long, you have the money after feeding housing and clothing yourself, paying all your bills and transport and power needs and you want to put your money somewhere. donate to support independant artists and let us build a new system without the leeches

  • @Guffrus i guess your right

  • The new Harry Potter movie made $92.1 million on the opening day domestically, with an additional $75 million in box office sales overseas. Hollywood are still making billions of dollars they aren't going to sink with honest people going to the movies and buying dvd's Hollywood stop over-reacting!

  • I am a pirate!!!! vote up if u are!!!

  • the audio on this is so inconsistent :(

I've only been watching for 10 minutes & I've already had to turn it up or down at least 5 times, fucking annoying!

  • Long live the Pirate Party!

  • It's crazy how these guys had time to do all of this w/ their super active social life.

  • The way i look at it is if you buy a game, movie or CD and it turns out to be crap then the producers have basically stolen your money, if you download a game and like it then you go and buy it for the multiplayer. I cant really think of a way to justify downloading stuff for free and then not giving money to the producer except that it gives poor people a chance to enjoy media for free.

  • I might torrent a movie or album but if I really like it, I'll get a hard copy so that I can support the producers of that piece.

  • IF you're afraid to be caught, use PeerGuardian or PeerBlock.

  • I would love to kiss Hollywood goodbye!!! Look at what they are doing to the human race! They have a stinkin' commercial w/ humans acting as dirt particles looking to fall in love with a fricken MOP!! What messege are we supposed to get out of crap like this? Lets mop Hollywood up!!!!

  • all my pirating in utorrent makes this video super super slow to stream on youtube lol

  • Fuck going to the movies, anyone who blows half a billion to make a movie is fucking nuts and deserves to have thier films stolen!

  • "file sharing" has been around since the cassette recorder

the piratebay its like a radio station

bittorrent its like the built in cassette recorder on your boombox

the file you download is like the cassette you just recorded a song off the radio

then you share that with a friend

    everyone has done this!

oh the memories of how easy it was to "file share"

  • @goqwertygo Filesharing and so-called "pirate copying" has been around much longer than the cassette recorder.

  • Attractive stout women are looking to find lovers naneedj.info

  • Another thing. In my experience on Ares, I've noticed a couple of things. Number one buying from amazon is a lot less complicated, and labor intensive than downloading. Second, rich people don't download. Why would you, if you had money to burn, and didn't want to deal with effort involved? You're either rich or not. You either have enough money to get all the stuff you're programmed to want, or not. Also, the people who want to stop filesharing are among the rich. This is a class issue.

  • @mowgli2071 Are you serious? Less complicated?

It's actually a lot easier when you don't have to login or enter your card details and shipping details. Also, you don't have to wait for days or weeks when you download.

And if you download a tv show in HD that isn't available on bluray, you're also getting better quality..

    Tell me how that's "easier".

  • @Nannirk: My comment applied to frostwire/bearshare/limewire and Ares ( the latter being what I use most). Step 1 for Ares: get on the VPN (don't wanna get "detected" and therefore sued). 2: search for your target song, HOPE they have it. When no hits come back, search another way for th same song. 3: you finally hit on results 4 days later. Now time to get an instance of the song at the best resolution available (I HATE 128!!). Step 4: Ares download is excruciatingly slow. 5: WHADDAYA MEAN IDLE

  • @mowgli2071 I don't use virus-infested software,

If you want relatively popular music, using relatively popular software, I am still right.

  • @Nannirk: "virus-infested software" being which ones? Lime/Frost/Bear, maybe. But I've got a couple different "updating" type scan programs and they all clear ares as safe. Hell, even oobe's cb0t clears as safe. And if you check, I DID say buying from Amazon was less complicated than downloading from ares. And I DID show just PART of how that is true. There's more "fun" still in store when you finally DO find a source that's not "idle". Oh, and to the room, DO NOT download from "the bests"!!!!

  • 30:48 My question for the room (anyone who would care to answer): What would a contemporary "index of prohibited [works]" (books, music, movies, games, in short, any media product) include today?

  • Fuck the mpaa.

  • My guess for the next "frontier" of p2p, wikileaks type of stuff. oh and fuck swarzenneger and chan.

  • My guess for the next "frontier" of p2p, wikileaks type of stuff.

  • 7:39

Who needs Hollywood, anyway? I prefer independent films.

  • Keep seeding.

  • excellent video! I am very happy for our future :D

  • I feel that the government is talking themselves out of a hole they dug when they determined that free trade and freedom of association were consitutional. Not to say that free trade and association are bad, it's just the fact that for hundreds of years they could've seen this coming. I don't feel, and I'm sure most would agree with me, that some characteristics of certain rights can be granted, while others can be restricted. I fully believe that they put the gun in their mouth, so to speak.

  • After using the pirate bay for a while I started to realize how shit most of the stuff coming out of Hollywood was, and honestly I don't watch as many movies as I used to before TPB existed. Sometimes the value of certain things is just an illusion supported by lack of other entertainment which now exists by mostly user-generated content. I don't pirate anymore, but I'm glad I did, or else I would be spending twice as much money and time get no more worth then spending half as much on good stuff

  • the torrent wont download. thanks for uploading!

  • "Kiss Hollywood goodbye" yeah , gladly.

  • Is it me or is the guy at 39:39 obsessed with penetration?!

  • someone needs to make or program a site that has no main hardware just freefloating software that travels randomly across the net. then they will never be able to stop it. not even shut it down or track it or anything. is that even possible to make a downloading site like that hmm_?????????????? you could just type in the address, enter the site and be draged along to stay on the site. anyone anyone???????

  • @davinG11 it will be once they create the "PMS" Proton Memory System...where they store computer data on protons

  • @davinG11 that is basically what p2p and bittorrent is.

  • If they gonan throw every single pirate in jail they have to make room for us, cause we aint few... Oh and what do they expect will happen if the world loses a couple of million people to jail, the economy will crash. I swear politicans are just a bunch of retards hiding behind a mask of long, fancy words...

  • help me pls to find the words in the film, where man says "you never, never stop piracy' . i love this moment much

  • @luckystarr1 11:29 or so

  • Comment removed

  • lol they claim they have lost so much money expecting all those ppl to buy their product in the first place.

hilarious how they can come up with those numbers.

  • Bah.. Internet-piracy will never be stopped! Just take a look at those who want to stop it, they are like a 100 years old. They'll be gone soon anyway :) And what do they know about piracy anyway?

  • The pirate bay is an unsinkable ship that will always sail the sea of teh internet!

  • @pattycak3e

Yeah as longest people vote against shit like IPRED lagen (new swedish anti-piracy lag)

  • The cost of "Batman: The Dark Knight" for example, was less than what they were paid while it was in cinemas. Then come the profit of DVD's, posters, all sorts of merchandise.

  • FUCK HOLLYWOOD- it's an archaic penny pincher and it's time was years ago. So long.

  • i wonder if anyone at mgm ever wonder why the founders of their company chose the slogan "Ars Gratia Artis" (art for arts sake) and not "art for profit sake"

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GO PIRATE BAY =D =D =D =D =D =D, piracy actually helps ya know... ive seen films/games make 50 billion, then they appear on thepiratebay, and of course.. i take my copy XD then they double that money cause people refer and shit.. pirates are a good part of marketing... WE SHOULD GET PAID TO PIRATE XD XD XD

  • @winnerboi102

    You sound so fucking stupid.

  • ARRGH!

  • LONG LIVE THE PIRATE BAY !

  • Mmm... Blue Danube. Lovely....

  • "I was like wtf?"

    this is so universal...

  • i was laughing so hard when that chinese bootlegger got chased by the cops

  • which minute? lol

  • starts at 11:00

  • ya i herd all the fucking responses on how people are losing there money due to piracy or due to pirate bay(tobe precise :),

but hear this a movie called ink which did not found a distributor in the us was illegaly uploded on a file sharing website a few days back(avaliable on piratebay also)and in 24 hours jumped to no 16th position on a popular movie website the producer mentioned on her blog said that "ink's popularity rose to 80,000 % ya u READ IT CORRECTLY 80,000% to be contd...........

  • they are losing money because they are spending to much money on advertising, fighting piracy, and swirls fingers around debating over whether P Diddy needs a 5th, 6th, or 7th show. to create a crappy American Idol type band. which Fox was sued for being a fake show. so u know the music industry has there heads in the right direction for the most part. lol and big media companies w/ the reality scripted shows. it's just a cheaper sitcom that looks "real" but isnt.

  • TPB rocks :)

  • download this song. nananana

  • Despite their claims, I believe the Movie Industry in the United States makes billions of dollars. And the guys in this film are scarry!!! what's up with the bad crooked teeth?? Braces& Haircuts desperately needed!

  • 37:12

"And what's her name?" [the MPAA prosecutor]

"Monica Wadsted... she's also the lawyer for the Scientology church"

    I LOL'D SO FUCKING HARD :D

Ow biscuit went up my nose, snnnh snnnh ehk

On a serious note though, when I first saw STF 1&2 almost 2 years ago, I didn't quite have a perspective on the 'users as creators' angle they present in the last 15 minutes of this film... Now I've been on YouTube for 2 months - I totally get it :))

Thanks for posting this, these guys fucking rawk :)

  • When the industry claims they have lost revenue, how can they prove that the people that "pirate" a file would have bought it otherwise? Perhaps they simply would have gone without? I know that is generally what I do. I dislike paying for information, just as I dislike paying for air or water. If it cannot be obtained at low or zero cost, I just wait for something that can be. I think most people do this most of the time.

  • shit i down load everything and still buy a bunch off crap

  • But I can't draw conclusions alone on this movie for just now, I have to think more about it.

But it has made question, is it illigal/immoral to copy?

  • I can see that there's two parts on this subject, those who know the ideology why they are commiting piracy, and those who just want things for free. I have no respect as such for those who are just taking all the time, without giving. I support a world where you cannot force a fee, for an example, on a game but you also have the "duty" or whatever you can call it, to consider if you wan't to support this or just "give something again".

  • Yea, so when you download a file via pirate bay, the "duty" is to host the file yourself. It's sharing. File sharing (haha).

  • i hear you.

personally, i feel the profit and economic order in the arts is ass backward, so i download freely.

  • I will agree that the artists should have more profit from their works, but again, when we see them in the press they have everything they could desire materially, so I seriously don't think they actually need more money.

Actually when I think of it piracy has only hurt the internet more than helping it, they want to regulate it and have already made this 3-strikes rule shit..

But I agree that use of (copyrighted) material on the net should be more open and accepted.

  • Many artists make money from doing shows rather than selling their music in an encapsulated form. If this was a regular thing (bands giving away their music for free, and just having websites for donations and purchases of the physical medium if someone wants it) then a lot would still make money... but they shouldn't be doing it for the money in the first place, that should be a bonus; the other thing is, there are some groups who put some actual thought into their physical merchandise.

  • Okay, I've seen it now.

It's actually quite interesting. I'm educated in how the internet/networking works so I'm aware how the stuff is going around.

I must say that I'm libertarian of political nature, the best method of society is to be split (divide power) and base the progress of the world on own will, not force.

I wish the best for everyone, I wish that everyone can be taken good care of and get food on the table etc. But that ideology shall not be based on force.

  • I want to make an experiment. As the time of writing this, I have not seen this movie yet, only the first 6 seconds.

My current view of this subject called piracy is that I never get myself illigal copies of anything. I don't have anything illigal of software on my computer (as in piracy at least, what I know of). I don't burn, copy or download movies, games or even music. Everything I have is bought.

Now let's see how my viewpoint is after watching this movie.

  • Sad TPB (they where bought out and will go legit like Napster) but I also agree copyright has gone out of control with new bullshit laws that restrict new material being made instead.

  • I/we hate the current copyright.

Ofcourse is TPB not 100% legal but, the Copyright law is freaked out so they need a freaked out opposit like TPB to show the Big companies that they DON'T have more power than the fans and the real law.

We normal internet users schould need to see that some high people are controling our freedom on the web and scaring us with giving some of us big bills and calling all types of sharing piracy.

  • i think the pirate bay case will very much depend on their lawyers ability to liken the situation to a material interaction which is legal.

like say, me directing people downtown to were illegal knockoff products are sold.

or me telling a friend about a pirate bay link, or sending a link to someone.

the disclaimer for the website states they do not support any illegal action.

  • What?? To much bla-bla.

  • read it again, very slowly.

  • Oh, yeah ... still does not get it. Bummer.

  • Downloading movies is not reproducing the product itself.

Selling them is illegal and pisses me and a lot of pirates off.

  • 37:16 Big LOL

  • pirates are the best fuck of the peoples that buy a dvd or blu ray for 20 euro hahahahahh

we download it free and fast

we are the best the rest are loosers

    dacom

  • watafak?

  • How is this video so long without the user being a partner?

  • Chola loves pirates and Sweden! :)

  • how in the hell could you make this video 51:30 min, and publish it?

  • We be pirates!

  • It's all about artistic morality! An artist or a director MUST always have recognision of his work as HIS primary goal AFTER his own expression! If someone is doing it for the money propably also his product will suck! And FFS distribution companies are those who drain the blood out of artists' swet! Not the fans!

  • Persecution of piracy is an abomination to the eyes of our Lord!

May His noodleness smite the record companies and doom them to an eternity of stale beer and ugly strippers with STD!!!

    Ramen!

  • WWFSMD

  • i love how they say what the fuck haha

  • man, this is such a good fucking documentary

  • what the hell was with the 5th grade learning time, starting at 20:12?

Is it still trendy to know what "ARPANET" means?

apparently so.. good movie so far though :)

  • the thought police roam! stand your ground! my brothers and sisters, this IS a war. hold fast! never fear the suits!

  • I bought a DVD today, and this makes me ashamed of that. :(

  • THIS VIDEO IS PURE GENIUS! Viva la revolution!

  • viva!

  • What a joke! Motion picture industry losing money my arse! They are only missing out on less than a million per film!

  • The unfair part of all this is the pirate bay isn't making a dime out of all their work but is still being fined millions of euroes.

  • phoenixtilidie;

    yeah they are

they are making thousands a month from ads

  • im doing piracy because i bought a movie and i wanted to watch it with friends? the pirate bay does the same, i see no law saying people cant watch movies only if they are alone, or listen to music only if they are alone and probably with headphones because maybe someone can "hear" the music and instantly became a pirate. its piracy enjoy with others what you have paid? im stealing DIRECTV because i was at my sisters house and watch tv ?

  • haha you pirate

  • what now i want to mean are there any other like the pirate bay i dont want to lose my tv shows please tell me.FUCK THE RIGHTS FREE PIRATE BAY THAT BELONG TO US

  • That's the problem with the movie industry, instead of trying to find a solution were both parties can co-exist, they try to threaten us, with IF we catch you, you are fucked.

They are focusing on the wrong issue and therefor, they get no money for the work they do.

Also, just something I'll throw out there. I've almost bought all movies I've downloaded (that I liked) series etc.

Before that, I did not buy movies, I just rented or borrow a dvd from a friend.

  • The cat's out of the bag now and they'll never get it back in!

  • The four operators of the site were convicted by Stockholm district court on 17 April 2009 and sentenced to one year in jail each and a total of 30 million SEK (approximately 3.5 million USD, 2.7 million EUR) in fines and damages. The Pirate Bay has previously stated they intend to appeal the case in the event of a losing verdict. Under Swedish law, the verdict is not lawful until all appeals have been processed. And processing the appeal will probably take another two to three years.

  • fantastic film

  • realy good movie

  • Absolutely fantastic film very well made! brought up some great point's and made me laugh at Hollywood! well done guy's! Viva the revolution! and viva pirate bay!

  • How about some demands that'll never be met, put the movie studios, televison studios, magazine and newsprint corporation that are under the thumb of Globalists, be sold to private indviduals and those individuals are aware that democrats and republicans are globalists, so they will have no political agenda as well. Utopia? Yes I know.

  • that sentence made absolutely no seance..

  • fix yo teeth !

  • Good video.

  • good film, informative

p.s.who gives a shit who was first

  • lots of beard

  • the examples they use for 'consumers becoming producers' are all crap. If that's where a copyright free world was headed, I would donate all I could to the RIAA.

Luckily I don't think it is where we're headed, there's a lot of excellent creative commons stuff out there.

  • Why? The music won't vanish, just the Britney Spears and Madonnas etc. that are just in for the money. The current system doesn't encourage creativity, it limits it.

  • I think you have to work on your reading comprahension a bit.

  • I think you have to work on your spelling comprEhension.

Seriously, it's YOUR 1st language we're writing in...

  • Actually, no it's not my first language, I don't know why you'd assume that.

No need to get worked up about this, I'm just saying I think you missunderstood comment.

  • "Country: United Kingdom"? Ok, forget it.

If you meant that, then why not write it? Instead of something that reads like "LOLOL you don't understand my comment, dumbass!"...

  • You're right, sorry I was rude. What I was saying was that the examples of the artists working outside of copyright (eg. at 43:06 & 45:13) are crap; perhaps even a step down from Britney. An uninformed viewer might see this and think that that is the only type of music that will remain in a copyright free world, in which case it would be an argument to keep copyright laws.

Fortunatly, I think the examples used give an inaccurate image, and I know that creativity flourishes without copyright.

  • That's right, of course. IMO those artists who truly care about music will just continue making music. Who needs record companies anyway? Computers have made recording dirt cheap.

If you're not a megastar, you don't make any money on CD sales anyway. It's the concerts that pay your bills.

  • making songs and distributing them online will work as a promo for live bands in the future, lipsinkers and the ass holes that make miljons of those hacks are scared due to this, and they shuld be!

  • btw, sry for my spelling, forgot to spellcheck it.

  • It already works. NiN released their current album under CC and they still sold 2500 copies of the $300 collectors edition - on the first day. Without production cost and margins that should still amount for a decent profit.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • A superb, and very important film... this will be a part of the world-wide revolution

    thanks for sharing this.

  • The revolution will not be televised. But it will be up for download on TPB!

  • Anakata is one of the most epic of beings.

  • ummm okay

  • cool this was added like today :) like an hour ago

  • Who cares who is first?! -_-::

  • To fucking bad bitch :)

  • Hmmm. o_O
