LoL This game is definitely balanced as much as it can be. It is not "unbalanced" at all really. Its all about timing and spacing. Just practice more. Wish there were more vids on high lvl fei long play tho.

The only two unbalanced characters I can think of are Sagat and Zangief. The fact that Zangief can grab you IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBOS and Sagat can shoot fire balls every half a second while doing ultimate damage is over the top.

Sorry dude, but this game is unbalanced. I've been through many fighting games and I have the system it's self is a bit broken. If it wasn't unbalanced, people wouldn't be choosing the same characters, instead there would be a spread of different characters, but all I see is Ryu, Ken,  Akuma, Zangief, Balrog, and of course Fagat (Sagat). Games more balanced than this: Every KOF, SF2 and 3, Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Melty Blood, Guilty Gear, hell, I'm even considering M.U.G.E.N (Kidding about MUGEN)

Why would you even bring up Brawl though? Brawl is more of a party game than it is a real fighter. I mean, it's cool to have competitions with it and such. Street Fighter 2 Turbo Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Melty Blood Akatsuki Blitzkampf Rumble Fish King of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match King of Fighters 11 King of Fighters 12 Melty Blood Dead or Alive These are games that are more balanced than SF4, anyhow, it could use a lot more balance.

The only reason I choose Ryu/Ken is because I find the moves easier to execute. (n00bish, I know)

I only pick Ken over Ryu though because Ken's hurricane kick has more hits whereas Ryu's one tends to knock down the opponent from the first one and that's the ONLY reason. I'm pretty positive that's there's nothing wrong with the balance and that the less popular characters are just as good, it's just the majority don't know how to EFFECTIVELY use them.

You make a good argument, though, I feel as if the unpopular characters aren't used because they have bigger disadvantages. Example: Gen isn't all that fast, his mixups are slow, most of his moves lack priority, he doesn't do too much damage, his combos are almost or just as good as everyone else's, and his antiair isn't all that good. The only advantage for Gen is that his moves are much more different and he's not played as often as the others. That's one example though.

actually i went to check on him and i noticed yeah he has a bruce lee battle cry (though that could be used by anyone) and he has few jet kune do moves like some of his punches and like 1 kick but he also has non jeet kune do moves that look like some random beating but i would still say if u dont watch liu kang so so precisely you wont notice he uses jeet kune do and hsi battle crys actually are different that bruce lee's
