  • If this is a fake who ever did it.. Is working against God not helping. When you start trying to prove something fake... all you do is take away faith. THAT IS WHAT JESUS CHRIST IS ALL ABOUT. BELIEVEING IN HIM THROUGH FAITH IN GOD! Knowing that he died for your sins and in he 3 days came up from the grave. THERE IS NO PROVE, GOD NEVER WANTED THERE TO BE.

  • what I don't understand is why the shroud should have lots of little pictures of jesus' face on it?

Also, problems with the carbon 14 dating does not mean that the shroud is real, it only means that that test is inaccurate...

  • Okay, then the tests should be repeated. The video is interesting, but we aren't given enough information to make a judgement one way or the other.

  • so there calling for a new test which means they didn't test the shroud in the first place? He's calling out a discrepancy, yet he doesn't tell us what that discrepancy is? Based on this, how can he even verify the original test was invalid...someone's blowing a smokescreen here.

  • @QuestioProVerum The discrepancy is they all came out with different results the news women said that... the results were very far apart too far to be explained by the margin of error.

  • There are supposedly relics from Christ all over the christian world. In my country they even have blood from Christ. Isn`t it all a bit ridiculous ?

  • @lizazoon blood of Christ still exists on the Eucharist. If you want more read the life of Father Pio of Pietrelcina or go to gloriapolo dot commm and read the testimony in word document of a woman that visited Hell and Heaven after being in comma. We had lot of Divine experiences in my family. Of course there are a lot of bad people that takes advance of the religion and sell anything, but the real thing exists, believe me.

  • @gabrielirlanda John Calvin calculated that to carry all the relics of the holy cross, circulating in the christian world, you would need three hunderd people . As I said, it`s all a bit ridiculous.

  • @lizazoon well scientists commits lot of mistakes too, in fact the world is getting hotter and no scientist knew that until this is happening, there are much more samples of science's mistakes

300 people to carry on the cross? was it made of steel? maybe its wght was 3 tons?

About that man JCalvin, well.. atheist there are 1 under each cup of tea. What I can assure u my mother had a contact with my dead aunt. God and life after life does exists. (Other phenom. things happened to us) Good luck

  • @gabrielirlanda Your education shows, calling John Calvin an atheist. Who cares whom your mother was in contact with. That`s a personal experience and is no evidence for anything.

  • @lizazoon haha, I knew you was gonna say something like that, it is very easy answer, isn'it?...I know who my mother is and I know how I am, ok now go ahead. Good luck.

  • Well, when you consider that Ray Rogers, who helped lead the Shroud of Turin Research Project, admitted that radio carbon dating carried out in 1988 was performed on an area of the relic that was repaired in the 16th century, it becomes easier to see that your assertion, thesnake52000, is uninformed and wrong, frankly.

  • I didn't say the dating of the cloth was right, I said it was unnecessary.

I guess when I made my comment I was recalling reading the quote by Bishop Pierre D'Arcis in a letter to Antipope Clement VII in 1387. "Eventually, after diligent inquiry and examination, he discovered how the said cloth had been cunningly painted, the truth being attested by the artist who had painted it, to wit, that it was a work of human skill and not miraculously wrought or bestowed."

  • It was 14th century, not 13th, I was wrong about that. The 1988 study found "The age of the shroud is obtained as AD 1260-1390, with at least 95% confidence." So this timeline does fit.

Of course the most important proof is scripture itself. John 20:7 says that the head was wrapped separately from the body, unlike in the case of this shroud.

  • There ARE two cloths. The head cloth is in Spain. It is called the Sudarium of Oviedo and the blood markings match up with the Shroud of Turin. The body cloth was wrapped under the back and over the front, so it has a full image of both back and front. The problem of false dating occurred because the testing sample came from a portion of the shroud that had been repaired in the Middle Ages. Underneath the patch was fabric that tested as being from the first century.

  • Too bad the Bishop didn't have the scientific technology to see that the image could not have been painted. Scientists who have studied say that the only thing that they are aware of that could have produced such an image is sudden burst of radiation. Paint would have been absorbed into the fibers, but the image on the shroud is more like a photograph with the image created by something akin to radiation burns.

  • @thesnake52000 Do you know how many fake shrouds exist? How do we know that quote is about the the one we talk about today?

  • he tested a piece from the 16th century, yet it carbon dated to the thirteenth century? Furthermore, after the fire, it was never repaired, it was simply preserved. Looking at it is evident of that.

  • Why is it so hard to find scientists with integrity? Three labs, and not one of them admitted there was a problem with the their results even though the KNEW there was. Tsk, tsk.

  • thus the problem of science and it's limits...

  • hey snake, huh?

  • the performed on a bad part any way so it doesn't show how the shroud is fake?

the shroud test show that it has pollens from the area of Jerusalem ...and pollens from other area where it was stored
