  • Hey, I love this game, I've been playing it all day, but I have a question, how does the level system work? It keeps saying I unlock more combos at different levels, but I don't see how..

Keep up the good work! (By the way, this is my favorite indie game ever :D)

  • @eponafan Thanks! The new combos open up each time you start a new level, so starting at level 2 you have access to the latest attack, and level 3 gives you another!

There is also the combo counter in the upper left that counts the number of combos you have pulled off without getting hit. The higher that number gets, the more damage you do to the enemies, and the more they go flying when you hit them!

  • @GyCot Huh, the Auto-saves say that I am on Level 4, and I still don't have any new combos :/....

Is this a glitch? Also, on the subject on saving, I'm assuming the only way to save is through auto-saves.

  • You don't appear to have mip-mapping or anisotropic filtering enabled on the textures. Have you considered turning these on to eliminate the ground texture flickering?

  • @StargliderX I have it enabled when it runs on 360 hardware, but you are right, it definitely looks weird when I shrunk it down for youtube. I need to find time to make a new trailer with high res to show off more purty-ness!

  • This is great!

  • @Deeke777 Thanks! And I can't wait for everyone to see the last round of tweaks that came form playtest feedback - the punching animation is a lot more physical, and combat has gotten a lot more dynamic

  • I like the Paper Mario aesthetic.

  • @Fopenplop Whoa, just you saying that made the gears in my head start spinning :) "I could totally mix RPG elements into the engine for the next game!"

  • This game looks very ambitious, will you be fixing the audio so we have a variety in sound effects for the fighting?

  • @TechnoOnyx Thanks! Yep, tons of audio effects! The game already has sounds for all the weapons and enemies, punches and kicks, and I hope to get even more in before it ships.

  • Looks awesome! What engine did you use? How many people are on your team?

  • @gamebird827 It is a homemade engine - there is a lot of quality engines out there, but I couldn't resist learning the whole thing myself.

As for number on the team, juuuuuust me!

  • Sounds like there's a bad fuzz going on

  • @ThisCakeIsAPie Poorly chosen "dusty record" sound - I was trying too hard to be dramatic. Don't worry, the game has real music :)
