  • @goldenhorde1990 You have no idea of what you speak. Why would you show your ignorance like this.

  • Does anyone else think the Bird has weird thumbs? 3:27

  • What an inspiring story!

  • This story shows that God has a plan for us all, no matter what difficulty or adversity we face throughout life. Adversity is not punishment but rather preparing us for something greater.

  • Amazing story; what a man!

  • Zamp's son should dig up the bird's bones and grind them down. If I ever go to Japan I will find where the Bird is buried and take a shit on his stone.

  • Unbroken was the best audio book I've ever listened to. An amazing story. Do yourself a favor and get it.

  • @adamtuliper Yes, I relistened to the audiobook today, read by Edward Herman, really excellent :):)

  • I just finished the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. It was an amazing true story of Louis Zamperini that I had not known before. He endured unimaginable experiences and suffering and survived. I hope a movie is being made of this maybe on HBO so it can be told without having to adhere to the 2 hours a movie would do.

  • Thanks so much for posting this series. FYI, ""The Bird" was willing to meet with Zamperini, but his children were so shocked to find out what their father had done, they ended the interview

  • Beautiful.

  • The world needs more men like Louis Zamperini. His faith and strength is a beacon for a troubled world. Louis, I hope you live many more years and touch many more lives. My love to you and all who served with you.

  • I just finished reading "Unbroken" today, and I'm watching these videos in tears. I don't think I've ever been so moved and so emotional about someone I've never met. What a remarkable man - yet, there are so many others whose stories don't get told. God bless Louis Zamperini and all of our service men and women, past and present.

  • I just finished reading this most wonderful story. Amazing strength......How horrible they were treated. Thank God for his mercy...

  • pt 3 At that moment, like the others, I also forgave you and now would hope that you would also become a Christian.

    Louis Zamperini

  • The post-war nightmares caused my life to crumble, but thanks to a confrontation with God through the evangelist Billy Graham, I committed my life to Christ. Love has replaced the hate I had for you. Christ said, "Forgive your enemies and pray for them."

As you probably know, I returned to Japan in 1952 and was graciously allowed to address all the Japanese war criminals at Sugamo Prison… I asked then about you, and was told that you probably had committed Hara Kiri, which I was sad to hear.

  • To Mutsuhiro Watanabe,

As a result of my prisoner war experience under your unwarranted and unreasonable punishment, my post-war life became a nightmare. It was not so much due to the pain and suffering as it was the tension of stress and humiliation that caused me to hate with a vengeance.

Under your discipline, my rights, not only as a prisoner of war but also as a human being, were stripped from me. It was a struggle to maintain enough dignity and hope to live until the war's end.

  • If you don't watch all 4 parts, you are missing a remarkable story.

  • Mr. Zamperini, you are an inspiration and thank you so much for telling your story.

  • Lots of details left out in these videos. Of course, CBS doesn't want to upset any Japanese or sponsors. But the book details just how bad the Japanese were. If you never learned that the Japanese were as worse, or even worse, than Adolf Hitler, then you are missing a big part of history. There is a reason Chinese and Koreans go crazy when the Japanese leader visits the cemetery honoring the criminals from WW2. We all should be as outraged...Louis survived, many Americans did not!

  • I just finished "unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. It is staggering that human beings had to endure such atrocities. God was watching over Louie all along. What a wonderful story of a great man! And yes, the bird is burning in Hell and being tortured by the devil himself.

  • Louis... Thank you and all the POW's for our freedom. God bless you.

  • Thank you Louis Zamperini for your service to our country. I just read 'Unbroken' and am aMazed by your story of survival and determination. Your courage is beyond remarkable but your compassion and forgiveness are even greater. The Bird lived a miserable life and left only an evil legacy of hate behind for all of humanity. He is to be pitied. What a waste of human existence.

  • Thank you for your service to our country, Mr Zamperini. You are an incredible man. God bless you.

  • Just now finished the book "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. What a wonderful story. I was disappointed Watanabe didn't own up to his atrocities, but I loved how Zamperini handled his ghosts. The Bird has met his maker and now is burning in hell.

  • See my comment on Part 1.

  • The Bird is the devil incarnate. Evil. Evil. Evil.

  • Thank you for posting this. And Louis... God Bless You.
