  • very good recipe thanks a lot,i would like to ask you ,can i use this for hair purpose ?

  • @MsSweetteeth I am not sure about this for hair.... it does have a grit to it, being not as creamy as professionally prepared.... making it wonderful for recipes like truffles, etc.... but I am not familiar with the butter and hair..... but am familiar with the oil and hair.... interesting!.... How would you use the butter in your hair?...... please share!...Hugs!

  • WOW THANKS SO MUCH :D

  • @becsta457639 You are very welcome!... Hope you try this recipe!...:)

  • TY for sharing about coconut butter! This is exactly what I needed to help make my raw cacao bars smoother. The coconut butter I used was way too expensive, so I used too little in my recipe. Now, I can make real smoooth energy bars. Here, in Mexico coconut flakes are really cheap! Blessings! ~.~

  • @redlotus888 Thank you so much!... Hope it helps you!... Lots of LUCK!!!!... mmmm!

  • My 1st attempt didn't go well - my blender was a smoothie blender, and it didn't have the "oomph" - So I got the Ninja 1200 system. THAT blender worked so much better. The coconut I'm using is dry, so there's a little mealy, but at 2.99 a pound, it's a LOT cheaper than the $12+ I was paying for the jar stuff. Going to take the butter I made and make truffles tonight and see how they turn out...

  • @GyroplaneFan Awesome!... My coconut was dry too... just make sure from where you buy it, that it isn't defatted!.... My jar of homemade coconut butter is hard as a rock, due to the coconut oil in it..... though it is probably softer today, since our summer heat is finally here.... Let me know how the truffles went.... I want to make some too.... I think it will work out great and alot cheaper!... Hugs!!!!

  • @mommakato4 - They turned out GREAT!!! Going to make more this weekend - I really like the Ninja, though cleanup after the coconut butter is a pain on those lids! I use 1 1/2 lemons for the lemon juice - my truffles are hard as a rock when refrigerated and SO lemony! They don't need warmed up at all, and are SO refreshing. Thanks to you for the idea of making the butter and hats off to Hebbie for this recipe!!!

  • @GyroplaneFan GREAT!... I still haven't made them, since I have been so busy and out of town so much!... BUT I will soon.... I love lemon!.... Big hugs to you!....

  • I'm trying to write to you, but a cat that has adopted me keeps walking on my keyboard and deleting my text! I will have to try this if I can find coconut flakes near me that make it worthwhile. I nearly died when slimsteve said he paid 99 cents a lb. for asparagus when I had just paid $4.98 a lb. here in NY!!! Groceries are a killer here. I paid under $10 for a 16 oz. jar of coconut butter at Fairway. We'll see....

  • @mjuner33 WOW....that seems like a great price for coconut butter!... Make sure if you buy coconut flakes, that they are sugarfree and not fat free.... you need the fat to make the coconut butter..... Big Hugs!...

  • Yummy! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • @nilihcg You are so welcome!..... Hugs!

  • Yayyyyyy us for knowing about it..lol and being wise enough to make it ourselves winks

  • @CHERRYVAN1 Yes, Yes,!!!..... Love ya girl!

  • it looks so easy.. i did get my coconut to butter state but it wasn't as creamy and smooth as the jar stuff.. it still was a touch mealy, it did't melt in your mouth.. thanks for sharing, gonna try and get a cheap blende and see how that goes..i think the smaller dehydrated chips just don't have enough moisture in them.. i really need to figure it out , i do not want to keep paying 12 dollars a jar for this stuff!! hugs!

  • @MsTeribear I have not ever bought the jar stuff.... My coconut was very fine.... and I think worked great....yes, it is a bit mealy but so is peanut butter.... coconut has alot of fiber...and i don't think it will just disappear.... was there no fiber feeling in the jar stuff?... I have been curious about that.... good luck on finding a durable cheap blender... I know others have burned theirs out on trying to make the butter!... Big Hugs, girlfriend!... :)

  • @mommakato4 the jarred stuff is sooo very creamy, almost no mealy texture..i think that is my problem, i am trying to acheive the jarred texture and it just isn't happening.. i get a little closer when i use the fancy cut of coconut, but that is 4$ a bag and only renders a bout a 1/2 cup , so no saviings there.. i think my next experiment will be whole coconuts.. but if i can figure it out then i will let everyone know.. thank you for all your help.. haha, i swear i am an addict!!! hugs!

  • Thanks for sharing that looked really good!

  • @jesswonder1 .... can't wait to make some truffles with it!... Thanks!

  • i want a ninja when i grow up =) i love your purple top! thanks for sharing with us! hugs!!!

  • @socalplum Thanks, Purple is my favorite color....and blue!.... Hope you grow up soon, so you can get one!..hehe!.... Love ya, Hugs!!!!

  • you make it lookm so ez. thanks for sharing

  • @suziehayes1 .... It was!... and you are so welcome!...Hugs!

  • Amazing I got to find this stuff xoxo

  • @gordonshelli .... Yes, you do!... Hugs!

  • Oh my gosh- I really want that Ninja- have had my eye on that for awhile- It looks like it handles that coconut no problem! I like how you showed the bag- the cost and the actual amount it made compared to the cost of the same size jar pre-made- I fee like that was the piece I was missing - how much you actually make and how much money you save- thank you for sharing!

  • @Debaloo2 ..... I was always wondering about the cost, too..... so I just had to figure that out!.... Thanks for watching!... Yes, it never bogged down at all.... it did get warm.... but will shut off if it gets too hot, and it never did!... I love the ninja!... Works great with what I have tried on it so far!... Made a very creamy smoothie after I was done with the coconut butter.... I scraped it clean and finished cleaning it out in my smoothie!...mmmm!.... Big Hugs!!!!

  • I made it in the vitamix 2x, ya gotta add the shredded coconut little by little and be patient. Love the fresh stuff! I always pour some in a paper plate, easier to use than melting a jar full, just break some off like old-school choco-D

  • @Sourpusscandy I LOVED my vitamix!.... BUT the blade system seized up.... and it costs over 100.00 to replace it..... the motor base still works but I find it hard to spend that much just for a new pitcher/blade assembly.... So I got my Ninja!... GREAT tip!...Thanks for sharing!... Hugs!!!!

  • gee...I never thought of the Ninja Pro. Good thinking gurl! Love that yours looks so pretty and yellow. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I burnt up my Hamilton Beach Blender this week trying to make the coconut butter. I have a regular Ninja and LOVE it for smoothies. HUGS & ♥

  • @MsHcGGirl Bummer about the burned out blender!.... Hope you get to get another one to make some of this butter!... I want to make your smoothie recipe!... sounds so yummy!..... Love and Hugs!!!

  • Hi Kathryn! Thanks for showing us how your coconut butter turned out! I have a Ninja Pro but mine does not sit on a base like yours. I might have to try making some. I'm looking forward to seeing more vlogs from you showing us what you did with the coconut butter! Hugs to you :)

  • @justgranny45 Mine is the 1100.... I look forward to trying some recipes!... mmmm!... thanks!....Hugs!!!

  • Great Vlog Kathryn I love it and make it same way as you did also I have a dried elbow put in on there and omg it healed quickly! Hugs dawl thanks for letting me into your kitchen!

  • @CHERRYVAN1 Thanks, Cherry!... Awesome.... I do understand there are great healing properties with coconut oil/butter.... I haven't had a cold sore since I started using it as a lip balm..... mmmm!... Hugs!
