Wow he sure is mature and clever, no matter what NY fans think of him (calm down with the Roddick incident already, it's starting to get ridiculous) he's still one of the favourite players in and off the court. ALWAYS Nole!
Novak's interview was always very mature and great. I don't understand why some people complained his comment about Roddick's silly joke. Roddick was very very disgusting such silly joke about his health. Novak had a right to say he was not happy about Roddick's comment.
Novak's interview was very mature and professional. His actions after the quarterfinals against Roddick were inexcusable, however. Andy's words were not fair either, but Novak could have handled the situation better. I, like many, have lost a lot of respect for Nole off the court.
I think you've got a good point of view on the situation. Roddick did open his mouth a little too wide; Novak was terribly out of order in his retaliation. But to Andy's credit, it does seem like Djokovic ALWAYS has some sort of injury. Lol.
why? people are making such a big deal out of it, i mean honestly like he didnt do anything wrong..he said one little thing after winning an incredible match and apologized later anyways...everybody should just calm down with this whole "i lost respect" thing..
No, tennis is a gentleman's sport- calling out an entire stadium of fans and putting words in their mouths is far from how I believe a sports icon should act. Novak could have avoided confrontation, or simply disregarded the comment. Rather he felt he has to one-up Andy and embarass himself while doing it. Novak is a great player, and one of the most humble I have ever seen. His words were shocking, to say the least. I would expect this from other, less classy players, but now from Nole.
To his credit though, Novak and Andy have always had a friendly relationship off the court. I feel like it would not have been such a big deal had the fans not started booing after Novak's victory. They both mishandled the situation, but the crowd just exacerbated the problem.

Cmon he was young and new to the international stage as opposed to Roddick...
Wonder who should have shown grace and not made sarcastic comments about Djok anyways...so yeah being young he reacted in a hot blooded way
