A lot of this sort of music uses autotune (I'm pretty sure YMAS don't), but bands like YMAS, Paramore, Fall Out Boy use the exact same chords, structures and vocal melodies as that of pop artists like Gaga and Pixie Lott. The only difference is these chords have distortion on, which makes some people think it's rock music.

I'm not putting them down, I love this band, but what you're saying is completely wrong.
