@MrDirkDaring Ric left WCW mainly due to disagreements with management. When he came to the WWF Vince McMahon told him if he was ever relegated from the main event he could ask for his release at any time. Once Flair became semi-main WCW had changed management and offered him a massive contract, which he decided to take them up on. I don't think he'd even been working under contract at the WWF, just a verbal agreement with Vince.

Ric Flairs's title loss to Bret Hart later that year wasnt even aired on WWF TV because the match was considered terrible. Ric Flair even said in a shoot interview that the one and the half years he spent in WWF in 91-93 was pretty much "forgettable".

Razor Ramon had just debuted in the WWF at the time and saw the whole thing happen backstage and commented on a shoot interview later that he saw Mcmahon chewing Macho Man's ass out and said when he saw that, he knew he better stay straight in the WWF or he was gone.
