  • Why is Twelve low tier? He plays like such a pain in the ass. I don't know much about 3rd Strike, I've only been playing on and off for about a month, but Twelve looks like hell to play against.

  • @onymarth Twelve has below-average health, and is terrible when he's not on offense. He also has no reliable wakeup moves, either. I think the biggest problem with Twelve is that most of his mixup options are pretty easy to counter with characters who possess good anti-airs - i.e, shotos, Urien, and a few other high-tier characters.

  • God Ryan owns

  • 8:41 LOL. Gootecks is like "Oh shit, it hit her! Get in, oh no!"

  • So epic!!

  • pump in up ryan!!!

  • I've never seen this match before... but good shit to USA, despite getting owned by a ridiculously stacked team in the next round.

The finish was a heart stopper lol.

Ryan should 've lost to the Chun though... the Chun missed close RH SJC super as well as a low forward into super only seconds later.

But that's reason enough to win. Capitalize on your opponent's mistakes and it can equal victory.

  • I would bet 500 dollars on them vs most people, even pros, in the USA.

They got beat by Boss Ochibi and Riki. These guys they played were from a Kanto area qualifier. They weren't bad, they were good. Easuto and Izumi are top players in their characters.

  • of course in the USA they're top notch, but outside it's where the real competition is at.

I mean these guys have been playing for years now and countless hours each day...yet this is the best they can do?

  • Justin plays this game at tournaments, that's it. I think he probably practiced once or twice as low forward super, he told me he could do it just off the sound. GTecks doesn't practice 3s anymore, neither does KOfiend, I think that dudes married now. Outside? Just in Japan. And the reason is because the competition isn't as stiff in america because of smaller areas like it is there. You also can't make a living off SF in Japan. No cash prizes allowed, or I'm sure justin would live there.

  • No cash prizes allowed? Where did you hear that?

  • Gambling is illegal in Japan, man. No Cash Prizes either, since you put money into the pot it counts as gambling. The only thing you can get money for playing in Japan is shady-ass Pachinko, and the cops and the Japanese IRS don't mess with it because the Yakuza own them.

  • SBO is sponsored(or hosted I forget) by Arcadia Magazine so the winners of each tournament get roughly 100,000yen(around a thousand bucks). But yeah, for the most part there are no cash prizes in video game tournaments.

Pachinko is a loophole type of thing because those are technically "ticket" games, but you get siiiiick prizes like scooters and such, in which you sell them for money. But yeah, the rumor is many pachinko parlors are operated by the yakuza so that could be a factor as well.

  • @seichusenmakoto Lol this is late but I found this interesting, and it's been re-iterated before. Thanks.

  • almost a nice comeback for DU

oh 12. They got ez opponents? nvm, that 12 can play invisible? GO 12! ^_^

  • I can only imagine how gootecks reacted to that finish.

  • He probably threw his stick, but in a good way.

  • GO USA!
