very true. you don't kill your partner is sparring or else who can you spar with, but you do throw the kick with enough force to illicit a response from your opponent. if i throw fluff, you won't even flinch. but if i throw with more intention (not enough to maim you) then you'll treat the kick with respect and either a) move to defend/intercept/avoid it, or react after being kicked...either of which make the sparring more realistic. peace lyte.
with regards to why one should train with muay thai. of course they didn't invent the kick. like xing yi chuan didn't invent the punch. but i'd rather punch like how xing yi chuan would instead of how karate would any day, every day. muay thai is very efficient with how to use the body to deliver the kick, and how to incorporate whole body power (not just leg) into the kick. it would only serve to make dude's kick more powerful.

muay thai didn't invent the low kick. but i would say it perfected it. just as you might assert that 52 has perfected the art of (upper body) blocking. you don't have to spar at 100% power... but, at least 50% reasonable. you might also want to incorporate some muay thai defense to the low kicks (checking), because i have yet to see a good answer for it in any of your youtube vids. it doesn't hurt to mix it up a little.

very true. you don't kill your partner is sparring or else who can you spar with, but you do throw the kick with enough force to illicit a response from your opponent. if i throw fluff, you won't even flinch. but if i throw with more intention (not enough to maim you) then you'll treat the kick with respect and either a) move to defend/intercept/avoid it, or react after being kicked...either of which make the sparring more realistic. peace lyte.

with regards to why one should train with muay thai. of course they didn't invent the kick. like xing yi chuan didn't invent the punch. but i'd rather punch like how xing yi chuan would instead of how karate would any day, every day. muay thai is very efficient with how to use the body to deliver the kick, and how to incorporate whole body power (not just leg) into the kick. it would only serve to make dude's kick more powerful.

muay thai didn't invent the low kick. but i would say it perfected it. just as you might assert that 52 has perfected the art of (upper body) blocking. you don't have to spar at 100% power... but, at least 50% reasonable. you might also want to incorporate some muay thai defense to the low kicks (checking), because i have yet to see a good answer for it in any of your youtube vids. it doesn't hurt to mix it up a little.

SKILLED grapplers and wrestlers can and do GnP effectively from full guard, half-guard, side mount, knee on belly and the crucifix position. in fact full mount is the position u r mostly likely to get reversed from many MMA fighters prefer side mount and/or half guard.
