They banned them cuz of the high risk of death it's fun watching people doin the tricks but lots of people would easily die from that

Any element that has a gymnast standing on the high bar is banned. The FIG considers them to dangerous thats why Olga Korbut's Korbut flip on the uneven bars is banned

in which case the yurchenko vault should be banned - one person died doing a yurchenko, bu no-one's died doing a standing ub release.

The Yurchenko vsalt is not considered dangerous by the FIG because now the vault table is bigger and sprung so theres more area for the gymnast to vault off of and now they require a U-shaped safety mat between the springboard and the vaultung table, so even if your foot misses the springboard theres still a place your foot can push off of.

Well, the worst thing you can do on a standing element is fall off and break your leg, which you could do on any other move (see Sey's tkatchev)

I think what the FIG are thinking is that you can slip or fall and possibly land on your head or fall at a wierd angle which could cause debilitating injuries. What I don't get is why don't they just put more mats and padding around and between the bars
