I loved this game when I was a kid. The arcade version had blood, 3 player co op and and extra stage if I can remember. SNES was censored, replaced the 3 player co op with 2 and removed a stage (I think). Even still, I'd fuckin' back flip out of joy if even the SNES based ver was announced for PSN or XBLA.
I spent so much money on the arcade edition that the SNES version was dramatically inferior when the SNES had the power to make it even better when i brough it. Still fun.
Damn i still can't find this game in any store.....this and captain commando. I figured if I found streets of rage IN THE BOX mint condition I could find anything.
@duce8585 yeah that's a given, but people like me just don't got a credit card or the care for electronic transaction lmao. I'd rather find it in a frikkin store.
I liked this game OK but I always found it frustrating and kind of boring that you fight all the enemies in the same 2-screen wide locale with the exception of like the elevator stage. Gotta change up the setting ya know?
Oh this brings back so many memories. It reminds me of New York (That's where I lived when I originally owned it) Man, This game still has a pretty bad ass soundtrack.
does anyone know a site where i can play this game when i was little i played this game so if u know a site where i can play this game please comment below
This game is rather amusing. Why would Technos place a girl as a final boss? I thought girl bosses are normally what Sega would come up with in the Streets of Rage series of games (SOR1: stage 5, SOR3: stage 2)! Keep up the good work. :)
Its even supposed to be a big plot twist in the arcade version. In the arcade version, you are led to believe that this stereotypical crime boss is the final boss, but then he gets killed by Martha before the final battle.
and it also had that harbor stage, which was omitted from the SNES port (the boss gauntlet on the SNES version is at the building stage where you fight soldiers and security guards)
Much better in the arcade. SNES version lacks the blood, and the 3 player option... I'd love to see this on XBL arcade, but I don't think it's popular enough for Microsoft to pursue it.
I remember this game too! I may have rented it in either '92 or '93. I was a senior in high school....Damn I feel old! Hey Shiryu, could you get the video for the rest of the game?

Wow. I'm downloading this off of the VC right now.
The music is pretty solid. the gameplay looks like a hybrid of Double dragon and final fight.

That would be greater... There needs to be more arcade games on the VC. Good ones, that is.

Woa I remember this game for the SNES! I also remember the Arcade version too.
The Arcade version was different, If I remember right it had blood, and the fat guy boss in the first level rides a motorcycle.
