the first time i saw this i knew it was a placebo it's not that hard to tell lol there are tons of placebos that help you but this cannot physically help you at all if you already believe it is a placebo you have to honestly think it's real
This is the first video I have seen that someone gives a credible explanation of how the tester and the subject can feel the effect and both believe it. In future tests I am going to try hard to deliberately push outwards to off balance the subject wearing the PB.
doesnt matter if you put this video on youtube.... there are still a lot of stupid people in the world that will buy product for 20 dollars USA or 20 euros in EUROPE :)
that is just how this shitty world goes... around and around stupid people.
Thanks a lot for the video. I just have one question, why did you buy the pb? Did you know it was a scam at the time, or did you buy it to test it out?
a friend told me about the PB 6 months ago and I thought it was only suggestion/placebo. Derren brown does the same thing just with suggestion. But then he did the balance test on me. He was putting the PB or something else in my back pocket and my balance was better with the PB of course.I couldn't get it as my own suggestibility was much less influenced... A few days later I had the first spark: "what about his own self-suggestibility? he was the one testing me!
Then a few days later I had a second spark: The fact that pushing-in was improving the balance of the subject, subtle change in the direction of the force make a huge difference. I tested my theory on my girlfriend with a sponge. Her balance was better with a sponge :) It was good for her to do the washing up! I knew I had the answer of the tests. I bought the PB for the video, worn it a few hours no difference, but my cat loves to play with it!
If you are not aware this is not an advertissement but more a "piss take" of the power balance bracelet. A bracelet that is supposed to improve your life. The idea of the video was to debunk this myth in a "jovial" way. Anyway, I wish good luck in criticizing all the Youtube video that seems to be ridiculous,
cheers,
Tx I was wearing it during the video ;), I wouldn't say dum, but certainly that some people need to have a belief. They need to believe that something else is there to protect them. Some will wear a cross, others a PB.
What is worrying is that these people don't express a critical thinking and some of these people might be judges, politicians, or doctors... In their field do they have a critical thinking ?
But anyway: the stretch test, I tried it since I have no power balance bracelet because I think it's a scam, the stretch test is totally what you said, it's stretching your spine - I went way further when trying after the 1st try about 10s apart lol!
@Chumppi No, placebo is a false positive. It means the object you're making claims about does not do what is claimed. This is more commonly known as false advertising.
@bastardsheep Right, but for example in drugs if you're given placebo drug(as in nothing real) it often also works like the real thing with power of your mind, THAT is placebo effect.
You saved me $60, and I thank you for that!

Wouah that's absolutely great !!! I bought one of those powerbalance before summer and I was still wondering if there was any effect.
Well thx for the video buddy - I think I got the message now : powerbalance = no additional force, no additional flexibility nor additional balance .
