  • that sure turned out real nice ,it will be alot of fun

  • @thechevyscrounger

    Thank you

  • @Rarerat i know this may sound weird but i think there is something wrong with my odyssey. i have heard that a stock fl350 can do about 60mph, but mine has alot of engine work and it only does about 50-55mph. i dont know if it is the hub mod i did... i converted it over to run a standard honda bolt pattern and only have 20-10.8 tires on it now i believe. but i dont think it would take it down that much in speed. any suggestions??? it has porting, liquid cooled, race clutch andweisco piston

  • @rccarsman87

I would think most any 350 Ody would run 60 mph if tuned right. I did GPS my other 350 Ody @ 67 mph but I run 24" tall tires on the rear. 20" rear tires are pretty short and will knock the hell out of your gear ratio, so I guess 55mph is possible?? Tuning is everything on these machines, you really need to do some plug chops to work out your jetting. I have both of my Odys and my Pilot all jetted the same and all three run VERY strong. What carb do you have and whats your altitude?

  • @Rarerat not sure of the altitude but i live in surprise az but i want it to run great at the sand dunes even if i loose alittle power here. i think its the stock carb. what does WOT mean? also if it is to rich how do i adjust that? with the fuel ratio or jetting. i am thinking about getting 22s or 23 inch tires for the rear. oh and one more thing, what is chop plug tests. i just check them clean it and put it back in.

  • @rccarsman87

Well every machine is different but to give you a base line, I am @ 5500' both of my Ody carbs are the stock 32 mm set up with a 140 main jet, 145 slow jet, 1.5 turns on the mixture screw and the needle clip on the second groove. if you are riding exclusively in the dunes i would jet on the rich side because the deep sand puts more strain on the engine and you are most likely at WOT ( wide open throttle) all the time.

  • @rccarsman87 Surprise, AZ shows 1181' of elevation, you will need to be much richer across the board than I run my machines here @ 5500'. A plug chop is where you run the machine at WOT( wide open throttle) for 400 or 500 yards and then while still at WOT hit the kill switch, pop it in neutral and coast to the side of the road. Remove your plug and read it. You would want to do this again @ quarter throttle, Half throttle & 3/4 throttle also. You really should spend some time @ PilotOdyssey*com

  • @Rarerat ok thanks but it realy doesnt seem to like this weather then.lol it is way to rich. one more thing. i see you have the stock shocks on it, do they do good if they are rebuilt and or brand new? i want a better ride(not so bouncy) but dont want to spend 500+ on a set of works shocks.

  • @rccarsman87

The factory shocks are junk, I have already swapped the rears on this Ody for Works since I made this video. They are by far the biggest improvement you can make to any 350 Ody IMO.

  • @Rarerat oh and one more thing. i have heard you have to put oil in the engine and tranny? how much for engine and tranny and what type for the engine and tranny. i think it might be alittle over due. i realy want it to run faster because it barely runs faster than a stock weighted down rhino 700efi

  • @rccarsman87

Yes, I use Honda's 10-40 4 stroke oil in the engine and the trans. The engine balancer holds 0.16 qt and the trans holds0.85 qt.

  • @Rarerat it also sounds like it is bogging when it is revved up going down the road. like it doesnt sound like a crisp 2 stroke but i think most odysseys sound like that. thanks

  • @Rarerat i just pulled the plug for some more info for you and it is black and wet. i think that means to rich and thats what it sounds like but what do i do for that. do i replace a jet to make it run leaner or just adjust my fuel ratio. i am running 36:1 now

  • @rccarsman87

I run all three of my buggies @ 32-1 with Honda HP2. If your plug is wet & black it most likely needs leaned out but you need to do some plug chops to know for sure. Go run it WOT for about 4 or 5 hundred yards and then while still @ WOT hit the kill switch and pop it in neutral and cost to the side of the road. Pull the plug and read it, that will tell you what you which way you need to go. You absolutely dont want to run it lean or it will melt the piston inside of a few minutes

  • Yea Nick I sure can understand how that goes. All work an no play makes for a boreing life and we all need some time off to shake the kinks out but when we do get back onto the projects we tend to make better progress and are able to concentrate on what we are doing a lot easier. You do such a nice job that we all like to watch how nice things come together and make such nice cars so we tend to get a bit anxious when its not there to see. Cheers OLDDUDE

  • @Thisoldcar

Thank you for the kind words my friend

  • Camaro, Camaro, Camaro LOL OK Boys and Girls, we all love to watch Nick work on the cars and we all know that he does a great job but lets let him take a breath so that he can get his head back into the project. OK Nick so when do we get to see more work on the Camaro? LOL

  • @Thisoldcar

LOL.. Thank you for the encouraging words RL, my plan now that her Odyssey is finished is to get back on my Camaro. You know the sad truth is 2 years ago when I bought the first one of these buggys is when all the work on the Camaro came to a halt. I found myself wanting to go play in the sand instead of sanding on cars, lol.. I agree.. enough screwing around time to get back to work!!

  • Nice job my friend and it looks like brand new.Let's get back to car now, lol.

    Richard

  • @richard16372

Thank you for the kind words Richard, that is the plan. lol..

  • lookin good when yagettin back on the camaro

  • @coronet440sixpack

Thank you, now that this is finished, I plan too spend my spare time working on the Camaro
