Hah, come to think of it, I guess Todd perfectly led us up the garden path! :) We must consider that "Solange" is a character (!!) Mahogany Reynolds plays in a 2009 film called "The Boy With The Sun In His Eyes" and sings this song! And that film plot actually happens in the 80s.
This song is not from 1984 for a few obvious reasons. Although the song and video are very retro italo disco the technology used in the video is far more advanced than anything available in 1984. The production values of the song are too sleek and polished to be from 1984. And Solange's appearance and dress are not an authentic 1984 look, although nice try overall.
The real gist of this song and video is it's from a little known film called The Boy With The Sun In His Eyes.
The woman singing is Mahogany Reynolds. In the film she plays Solange--- an Italian B-movie horror film actress/singer. This song and the attached bio is a very, very clever marketing ploy for the film.
The music is by Bottin. I believe this appears on his Horror Disco CD. The record label is called Italians Do It Better based out of New Jersey. The music on the label is primarily a new take on italo disco.
@boweryboy07 this was originally on the il discotto label. the reason it sounds the way it does is because it was was polished up straight from the original reel recording. so yeah, the video is fake, but the song isn't.
@cocobourgeois Congratulations, you've fallen for it too. No this was not originally on the Il Discotto label. Please check discogs entry 1378875 and see that the entry was REMOVED because it was found out to be a fake. :) Go figure.

@maxifreak1967 I thought you could be right, but in the video you can see "Giallo Records" which might indicate that the release on IDIB label could actually be a reissue
Have to agree the song title would apear to be true.I am intrested in working in the development of robots ,but as it would turn out we are in the stone age of robotics compared to nehon.I wish I could go to school there :(

I don´t think the video is from 1984 !
Video format is 16:9 (implausible for 1984).
First time released on vinyl in 2009 (discogs/release/1832489)
