Pet rats enjoying their Christmas stocking - take 1

a stocking is a great idea! I got my rats (now rat) Christmas presents too. I think I will do a stocking this upcoming Christmas. Thanks for the idea!

What i did was wrapped dried fruits and nuts tightly in newspaper and used roast twine to secure the parcels. I made sure to use several layers of paper so they really had to gnaw to get at the treats

that is so cute....that is what i did at christmas...i clipped tube socks in their cages and i stuffed them with hard-shell Christmas nuts, Milk Bones, honey seed sticks from the pet store and a tiny cube of hard fruit cake. like you, i padded them up with wadded paper towels and dye-free tissue paper. yup, i think it's fair to say we spoil our rats! :)

im going to get a rat from petsmart for christmas. they only have 1 right now im going to get another one when they have another.

It's wonderful you're getting a rat but be sure to be careful when it comes to large chain pet stores. Most smaller animals in large stores don't get handled nearly as much as a small shop. Try to get the youngest rat possible if you're going to petsmart because otherwise they usually bite (because of lack of handling when young).

My rats love christmas, we have 6 of them, but this year it is 3 of my rats first christmas. lol. cool. they must of loved the stocking. lol!!!!

this makes me sad because my pet rat got a respitory infection and now he is at the vet! hes just a baby and he has to stay there for ten days! :'( im gonna miss him!

just a selection of treats from the pet shop and lots of tissue paper to bulk it out and make it a bit harder to get to the treats.
