  • The YELLOW PERIL rises again.Loverly job.

  • fuking beautiful work !!! like how you used the original colour !!!!! great engine too !!!!

  • nice very nice i want one

  • Bought one twenty five years ago wish I still had it, fantastic restoration footage nice motor, like the decals.

  • mouth watering ! wish i had the cash and the know how to start a build like that.old school ford all day long !

  • im thinking of getting a mk 1 as a project, how much did u spend on the restoration, i have a c20xe engine lined up but its none turbo, would that still be ok????

  • Awful music, great car nicely done, but I always feel like its a bit like rape when you stick a non-FORD engine under the bonnet! If you cant go to BDA or lotus lumps, a hot Pinto is always fun, so is an all steel short stroke crossflow ! Cheers!

  • great work! thumbs up!

  • Great video. (and good music). I just bought a mk1 2dr '75 1300xl from a farmer in outback aussie last weekend and looking for inspiration & ideas like this. Tomorrow I start the restoration by air-blasting all the nasty looking spiders out of it !

  • @PhaseForth good luck with it buddy, show us the build.

  • You spoilt story with annoying shit music

  • @notrut And ive see you have made some cracking videos, dipshit. Lets see your vids?

  • hi i can remember my dad buying a 1972 kreg mexico from quicks of old trafford manchester TVR 641K reg no paid 1275 quid brand new if only i still had it now

  • what engine did you use?

  • Lovely car and love the mexico stripes.

The wide stripe described by someone else was he RS2000 stripe.

  • very nice

  • what's the top speed and if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost you to buy and build up ?

  • @mattyndliam the top speed it pretty quick and it cost a fortune, you need 20k these days to build one

  • blinder mate!..great work!

  • what shade yellow is that signal? daytona????

  • daytona

  • i'm planing a big project, i just bought a 1300 shell, not too much of external rust but they always have internal rust i've heard. i'm planning to put an independent rear suspension/axle and an upgraded front suspension, and a modern engine. cheapest way is to put another car's parts into it, so i'm placing a bmw e30 front and rear to it. it's gonna be a hell of a project!

  • Absolutley cool, correct me if im wrong(which i probably am) was that a rb motor that you put in it?

Also whats the american version of this car?

  • absolute stunner mate, welldone on the rebuild giving your escort back its former glory.

  • absolute gorgeous mk1. Should be tremediously proud, the yellow and black a colour i have nver seen on a mk1 but sure does look great don't it!

  • looks the dogs mate top job modded mk1s and 2s only way to go

  • how to ruin a good car... if u wanted a modern can get one dont spoil a standard old mk1....

  • theres always one! how is it spoiled?

  • Thank you stevewoodhead, your right , there is always one

  • *cry* beautiful vid. great job!!!

  • I would definitely have buble arches on it..

    but nice work anyway..

  • is that a vauxhall gsi engine? looks like a cavi gsi's lump with 40's on it

  • Its a 2.0 red top vauxhall coscast engine., Designed by cosworth for vauxhall

  • i thought that

  • Nicely restored Mk1 - I think I would have went down the "Mexico" route when it came to the paint job & stripe, but to each his own eh ..?

By the way, what was the engine whipped from ..? I,m rather curious ... lol.

  • @merovinjiin That's exactly what it is - MKI Mexico stripes. It just doesn't have the actual "MEXICO" word applied yet in these pictures.

  • The Mexico I owned had a fat stripe down the side with a surrond stripe. As I said - its their car - they can do what they like.

  • @merovinjiin, guess yours had the wrong stripe then!

  • Maybe ...

Who knows & who cares ..?

    It was 20 years ago

  • then it was prob an rs2000

  • very neat good job

  • What a great build, nice colour, very proffesional,

  • looks very nice! :) cant wait to start on mine!:P

  • gay song

  • perfect body work and spray mate nice :)

  • Beautiful mate, absolutely perfect.

  • I notice alot of parts from the Demon Tweeks catalogue in there! Fuel tank, hand brake, dash alloy panel and that was only the first viewing, nice job though.Shame you went for a red top Vaux engine, personally I would have used a zetec motor and box to keep with the "Ford" theme, depends on how brand layaly you are really!! Nice job though, bet she sounds nice too!

  • now thats what i want mine to look like MEXICO !!

  • A vauxhall 2.0 16v coscast engine

  • what is the engine?

  • Saxo191, with a name like that need I say anymore, oh and learn to spell muppet. Let us see some vids of your cars??????

  • twat yuur telling me yuu cudnt find a 2l cammy or summats other than a vauxhall engine to put in it. yuu need a good hideing!!!!!

  • I watch these cars everyday on e-bay everyday dreaming of owning one again moneys short these days when i owned mine 10 yrs ago the attention the car got was scary. I loved that car it was like losing a loved one...

  • Nice car fellow mk1 owner.. I'm doing mine this very moment to early to be a mexico master samurai Greg ,mines an early mex thats on a J / 71 yours is a very preety car A+++

  • sweetheart,

gorgeous job done on the car.

  • The xe was hard to put in, you have to convert alot of things to make it work, as far as the rear wheel drive goes its basically the same as before, you just have to fit a rwd converted bell housing to take a type 9 box.

    Thanks for the comment

    C.P.

  • was the xe hard to put in mate?, how did you get the power to the back wheels?

damn nice car must i add

  • The mex engine was crap, I could have run faster. Now it has some serious fun factor.

  • Too bad you had to cut up a Mexico to put in a vaxhall engine in!

  • nice
