hey man nice job you really got to push yourself though at the end i do this almost everyday for football cause i am in highschool and we start of with that weight and move up to two 45 and a 25 on each side. I know they suck but you just got to push yourself. nice vid.
@LILWALL22 They are rarely much fun, but incredibly effective. It's amusing to see people who have never done it before think it will be easy... until their first time. I have had 2 friends who were flat on their backs after about 6 pushes.
@garan1234 I warm up with just the sled and no weight and then work my way up by going with 90 lbs on it for the next set and then 140 or 160 for my top weights. You really don't need a ton of weight on it, especially on asphalt, especially if you are pushing it hard. I would say if you have never used it, bring 2 25lb plates and 2 45lb plates. See what works for ya!
@garan1234 Very welcome and enjoy. I do love mine as well. I tend to use it for pushing down and back and then I attach some Blast Straps to pull it (forwards and backwards) down and back. You get some nice variety in and the pulling seems to do a nice job keeping my knees in good shape.
The water does not help with the frictional coefficient at all. Trust me I use mine in my wet driveway all the time. I always feel like my heart is coming through my chest. The worse is when you push it on the grass and hit a rabbit hole and the sled decides to not want to slide anymore. The headaches are from the blood pressure rapidly increasing. lol
@JoshSonsiadekDC Yeah, it was just bad alllll around, Josh! Haven't had that kind of headache since (but I have also not had the raising blood pressure + lack of caffeine either).
@simpsonbball10 They do scuff up a bit, but I haven't had a need to replace them as of yet. I have thought about getting a back-up set just incase because I have done the pushes on wet pavement (as in the video) and in the snow. The only problem with doing that is that some rust can build up... which then get rubbed off with more pushes, but believe me... it makes it A LOT harder to push!
@helioboy Very welcome. I am happy to report that there "Oh my God is head is gonna explode" headaches were only a short time thing. The Prowler Flu, on the other hand, is pretty much every time.
@300Spartans1 Those dimensions are spot on. If you look at the Prowler when the video starts, that is 43" wide and 36" long. The height is about 37". I can break it down and fit it into the back of my SUV without too much problem.
@griffinman13 I am SO not mechanically inclined to pull something like that off. I'm sure people have done it before, but EliteFTS had a sale and I pulled the trigger to get one. Some of the best conditioning bang for your buck you can find.
@griffinman13 square tubing and some 1/4 inch plates with slight bends in them...then weld it all up...then some poles to push and your good....i'd rather just buy the damn thing
@Nicodojo You may not get the headache unless you are insane like me and dropping your caffeine intake a little too quickly. That was a bad, bad idea. But you will likely crumple to your knees a few times.
what a pussy

I have one. Unfortunately, mine has some flaws in construction so it sits a bit uneven

elitefts claims the prowler to be 43"x36". is it 43 in width and 36" in length? what's the overall height of it?

@sjjdiienno1 Same here. After all of the designing and fabrication, you might save some money, but I'm not sure it would be worth it in the end.
