@karakittle Iva only came back a couple of months earlier. During that time Meg was living with relatives for a while. Before that the shame of getting pregnant at 13 drove Iva away for many years. She should be about 30 here, while Meg is a teen who never really knew her. You'd think old family pictures would have cleared that up long ago, though.
I miss some of these actors, I remember how good they were. The actor that played Craig was just outstanding. I don't know if anyone is watching the Luke/Reid/Noah drama right now, but I see a lot of similarties in the Lily/Holden/Dusty triangle from the 80s any thoughts?
@SandCmpbll I can't say that I see that too. The dynamics are so different. Luke is just like his mother though, entitled and not able to choose who he wants.
wooooaaahhhhhh! i could tell holden was a hottie when he was younger from the way he looks now but OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oakdalian, what was the original airdate of this episode? I'm trying to place these events in this episode in the context of two events that happened around this time: The murder of Cal Randolph in December 1985 {obviously by Doug Cummings} and the attack on Heather Dalton {again by Doug Cummings} at Heather's apartment that is seen in this episode)? Also, if you have the two episodes that those two events occurred to post that would be nice.
I guess it had to be during the winter of '86, because Kim and Lucinda have furs on. Maybe someone else can give us the exact date. I don't have the episodes you mentioned, unfortunately...
I can pinpoint the month as being January of 1986. I only remember that for two reasons: Kim and Frannie would be kidnapped by Doug and Marsha on the last airdate in January (I think it was the 31st, but it might have been the 30th), and also because the attack on Heather happened about a week before that kidnapping.
Also, I know it was January 1986, because at the time I was attending the University of South Florida in Tampa (when I was 22) and I never scheduled classes from 2 to 3 pm so I could check in on Oakdale (I was a fan of the show big time during the mid/late-1980's).
Did anyone else here Holden groan @ 2:42?
knmlover 5 months ago
@knmlover It sounds more like a deep breath.
Oakdalian 5 months ago
@Oakdalian LOL it's a deep breath, but then he exhales and it sounds sort of like a groan. VERY sexy.

There is a slight accent with the Synders. Midwest/Southern. Very slight though.

I love how Emma greets her kids with "what on Earth are you doing here?" No "nice to see you" or "glad you're home!"

I know! And he isn't shy about the loaded come-ons, either. It's hard not to picture him standing in that storm with his, uh, lightning rod.
