Comes in handy when you need to clear out a KOTH ring. This shot gun has very low range. Outside of melee distance, it's like it doesn't effect you at all. People with sawed off Run straight at opponent, or hide behind corners, shoot, and then run the fuck away again cause they need to reload again. The Weapon is only used for people who don't have the decent skill to use a Gnasher, Wich involes aiming and wallbouncing skills.
If u aim with the Gnasher one meter at the right of target: no damage.
If u aim with the SoS one meter at the right of the target: He's dead.

For those complaining about how the Sawed-Off is cheap, here's some advice. Don't get close, that simple. Sawed-Off has a spread so wide it can take out 5 people. Get better with the Hammerburst and you can cut off people who use Sawed-Off so quickly because of the Hammerburst rapid-fire. Either that or learn how to wall-bounce escape.
to those of you saying the sawn off is over powered... it is not. it hasa very wide spread but very VERY short range. so if you get very very close to comeone, you will kill them, but if you are even a small distance away your shot will fail and you will die.... the gnasher on the other hand, has a larger magazine, much longer range but not as much spread.

Hey everyone think of it this way. You can get one shot gnasher kills right? I agree the sawed off is powerful and it does in fact have a bigger horizontal range, but I never ran into problems with it when someone was using it against me. I won't lie they've killed me plenty of times. But if you have a well aimed gnasher, you can easily beat many with the sawed off. The gnasher kills with one shot at the same distance the sawed off does, you just have to be a bit more accurate. Simple.
Given the fact that you don't have to aim for a kill (or kills), I would say that any noob can use this gun. It's AoE is one thing about Gears that cannot be realistic.

Gnasher has 8 shots a decent reload time and pretty good range, compared to the sawed offs 4 shots, longest reload in the game and can only hit from 2-3 feet away. Id say the noobier shotgun is the Gnasher. Once you get 35 kills in every game you play with the sawed-off then you can say its for noobs asshole.
@pingo57 Also both have about the same amount of power at close range. The sawed off may have a little more but that's because that's what its made for.
