I had mine removed recently(less then a week ago). I broke my ankle in 2008 and I had two plates and a bunch of screws. With the metal in...it hurt everyday and I am not kidding. It could be good weather or bad weather, it was chronic pain and swelling three years after the fracture. So I cant wait until I get these stitches out ((20) to see how my ankle feels. Now with it swollen, its still smaller now, then before when it was not swollen!!!
I had to have this done in one ankle last October and the other one about ten years ago. ahhh memories. I havent had any problems with mine. I refuse to have them removed. No need. too. Eventually you'll be good as new so dont be afraid to have tyhis done.
@Barbielovesglitter Yes, very similar in design. And as for the removing, it is up to the surgeon. Many people continue normal lives with the hardware inside them. Some surgeons choose to remove the hardware.
what type of metal is it?
