  • @lightyagame1: you either are native or not and most important. Do You look like one or not , according to you why we still live in the past, think harder. is time for you to hit the books

  • Does it make anyone else furious that our national parks and wild places are now theme parks people have to pay to get into? Do you know that our government makes about a billion dollars a year from fees to get into national parks? Our people, our blood line, walked those hills, mountains, and streams as wild as the grizzly, the wolf, and the panther. But, now even we have difficulty being allowed in to these places without paying a price. Didn't our people already pay a price?

  • The only other people on earth that can ride a horse as good as the Comanche is the mongolians. Its amazing to see a human ride a horse like the wind. But the comanche rode a horse better than any one

  • The way our world is going the day may be up on the Native American to live the way there ancestors lived.Might be up on all Americans.I hope the Natives have not forgotten what the old ones taught.

  • @mogges1 most have im afraid, but that's why all people have to learn to live like the old ways as we may all end up back that way.

  • I am also a decedent of Quanah Parker. My dad is in the line of first born sons leading directly to Quanah. So is my grandfather, as well as my great grandfather. And my dad too has a first born son, my brother. I am the oldest daughter. I am proud to be Comanche. I speak comanche and attend pow wows. I am proud of who I am. I keep my people alive in everyway I can.

Goodbye ahpu-_ u kamakutu nu 1961-2008

  • I just found out Im desedent of Quanah Parker, 48 years ive felt lost, now Im working on finding my right path, Ive been crippled for 2 yars, all ive done is surf, trying to find what i have found NAC,I feel for the true bloods, screwed by big brother sam,,,,,,our people need help right here,,,,the more i look into this the sader it makes me,,Im trying to learn the old songs,,, healing ,ect,,,Helen, you are wonderful,,,thank you for the pictures, music,,anyone who can help me ,feel free to contact

  • @wolfthatlimps you are welcome im happy you enjoyed the pictures, and great you found out you are a desedent of such a great man

  • I loved the music and the slide presentation. I have ben studying First Nations and this was good.

  • I have walked the divide my entire life. I already knew I was a quarter Cherokee from my father, he grew up in the northern area of Kentucky part of their original territory. But through doing my geneology with my aunt, I discovered my Grandmother was Comanche. She was adopted by a white family though, and took me years to track it. I now know I'm half native. Though half white I've always felt connected to my native heritage. This is beautiful and made me cry. I love the book Ride the Wind!

  • @ShieldMaidenBLS i felt the same lost for a while now im on fire to lear the traditions

  • @wolfthatlimps I try to not be bitter. I have family on the Rosebud Reservation. But, I to feel the outrage of a people whose ways and sacred traditions were scoffed at, ridiculed and degraded. Today the blacks, the jews, the latinos, all these other "minorities" scream about how they're treated, but as usual the native people are completely forgotten and ignored. It's like we're just a part of the landscape of this country which is also forgotten and abused.

  • I found out 6 yrs ago that I'm part Cree from Canada. I lived with a Spanish couple who adopted me as an infant, I look European but always felt Indian inside although they never said anything to me. I'm 60 yrs. old learned I was adopted at the age of 54 found my birth mother who told me I was part Cree. I was so happy when she told me, because I';m coming home and connecting with my people, thank you Helen for a great video...Love and Peace :)

  • what film did the footage come from

  • Thanks. It was a wonderful presentation.

  • I just finished S.C. Gwynne's book Empire of the Summer Moon. An incredible story of the Comanche. I empathize with everyone from that time, the Cherokees to the Makahs in the NW. Even the people of "Kennewick Man"... Were they Eastern Euros? Who knows but they were slaughtered as well by someone. If you go to Europe you will hear similar stories of invasion and conquest there as well. It's the horrible legacy of humanity.

  • I recently found out that my great-grandmother was full Comanche. All my life I've felt spiritually connected to the Native culture. I'm 27 years old, and although I was raised in the "Christian" world, I always knew it was wrong from the beginning.

  • @AyameO843 you always feel what is in your spirit christian is not for you but your roots is the NA side, all we can do is follow what we feel strong in our spirit most people cannot connect with their spirit but a lot of us can , i may be white on the outside but my spirit remembers a different time the old time,

  • @AyameO843 Finding your past is one thing, what you do for the future is more important,,,, so now you know you are injun, lets go scalp some white folks or do we go in business together and build Casinos? :D I'm Native or at least I claim to be, but a lot of my Native Brothers are hung up in the past, to tied up to the past..

  • @luckyshame420 The first white settlers to the NE were exterminated by Native AMericans...Its the Story of Cain and Abel...The wanderer wants to go where he pleases...the other settles down and works on a plot...You can wander now if you want ...I spent a year wandering..No one is making you stay on a reservation but yourself. The lifestyle in past required huge amount of land to support 130 people now we can support 14 million people on 45 square miles. Past is gone ..keep the memorys.

  • @TheVaktus i know it is heartbreaking to say the least, you are a beautiful people always will be

  • @TheVaktus the native americans are a beautiful people with beautiful beliefs, culture and heritage. I'm from Ireland and as many of my descendants emigrated from here it's possible that one or more of my ancestors (though i pray that is not the case) may have partaken in the despicable destruction of a beautiful people, i would like to try to make a humble apology to you and all others of native american heritage for their actions - i completely understand if you cannot consider accepting.

  • eric schweig was brilliant as buffalo hump, I'm glad they paid detail to the hair and clothing it the best i've seen and most convincing, it would of been interesting if their eyebrows would of been plucked too

  • Thank you, it is very beautiful. it is nice to read all the commentaries as well. Brings people together in peace.

    WE SHALL REMAIN.

  • Came across this video again. Still love it. Dont see my comments. I am Comanche born in Lawton, Oklahoma. Descended from Quanah parker, weakeah, wyodi, s. tahmakerah, m. mahsetky, my mom then me. Im adding to my favs now. :)

  • Maori and Comanche have similar traits and traditional values. Being Maori, I too feel the pain of Nemenuh.

Having lost our lands to the pale faced White eyes, I have become more aware that Maori are not the only ones to have faced extermination.

Love the sound tracks too. Helen's done a great job.

Ka Dih and Tane Mahuta have very similar qualities too.....

  • Wow Helen, you placed so many excellent videos on youtube. I like watching old photos and feeling positive vibrations that emanate from old faces of people, who lived in the times of dusk of the once free life.

  • wow, the Death dance, I feel like i remember hearing it as a kid...

  • @TheLonelyBearCub i know i liked all Navajo songs i think i used every one in my earlier vids , i like this one

  • @luckyshame420 those men were a long time ago. the greatest challenge today is to let it go, and to teach many others what is our traditions and what is the way of our people. if you do not want us to go extinct then please share your wisdom, stories, and more importantly, your language. our people musn't go extinct without knowing anything..

  • Great piece .... really enjoyed the video !

    Thank you for posting.

  • Nice Video

  • You did an amazing job !!!

  • @luckyshame420 Who cares who notices? As long as we remember where we came from that's all that matters. We can't turn back the hands of time, but we can create our future. Instead of dwelling on what happened to us, let us embrace who we are.

  • Thanks for this Helen! I can trace my roots back to Quanah Parker, and his mother,Cynthia..My father's mother was a Parker and he named me in honor of her.He is gone now,and buried in our family cemetery, called Parker Cemetery in Houston County,Texas. We have a Texas State Historical Marker on the grounds, many graves dating back to 1800's. A real honor to be related to such people!!! I am proud of my heritage! P.S. You posted 2 days after my dear departed father's birthday!!

  • @snottyxraygirl MY DOVE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @snottyxraygirl Which wife? I am also a Quanah descendant.

  • @luckyshame420 Thanks Stands Tall, i cant disagree with any of what you say, all i can say is i love Native American people the past and the new, though its sad the old ways are fading away, im not sure how i do in all my videos but to me it feels right how i make them, most beautiful people, all handsome men and beautiful woman and children, closer to nature and earth & animals, religion is controll connection is truth

  • @helen1434 The old ways are being revived. The people are growing stronger. Our population has grown from a little over 200,000 at time of Dawes Roll to over 2 million as of 2000 census. November is Native American Culture and Awareness Month. Spread our culture, teach those who wish to know, tell our story. Aho!

  • @b2bears1 i am very happy to hear this news, November my birthday good month, i try to make people aware in some of my videos,

  • COMANCHE VS MONGOL EPISODE ON DEADLIEST WARROIR/SPIKE CHANNEL...TUESDAY NIGHT AT 7....GOOOOOOOOOOO COMANCHE...WE WILL BEAT THEM!

  • @twyztur1978 guess what. THE COMANCHE MADE MONGOLIAN BBQ OUT OF THE MONGOLS

  • @devildogjosh1942 Exactly...look at what others think of My Brotha Comanches...oh yea...lots of Nazi's on Youtube...

  • No offense was intended. I am just trying to find some chanting without all the synthesizers and stuff that new age uses.

  • @Utubepirate ya i just got out of wrong side of the bed this morning and snippy snapped, i do have some vids with just Native Americans chanting which i like this vid was one of my earlier ones i usualy do get Native American singers songs or flute music stuff but its more realy the vids i put my mind into. i cant remember whatvids hav chantin i got powwow one and dakota one,

  • New age music, please go away! I want to hear this music in the raw!

  • @Utubepirate you know what how ungratefull are you, its not the music thats important its the video the pictures the memory and the remembering who these people were who are now gone, so if i put Native American music its because it is played by NA but it doesnt matter if its new age your totaly missing the point in my vids. its not about music

  • @Utubepirate plus i do have videos with Raw music in them

  • Awesome !*****+

  • great

  • i love this song i am part serbian and part lakota sioux cause my grandfather was a lakota sioux........ he is now dead but he will remind me that i will be proud for my heritage......................

NATIVE PRIDE!!!@everyone Ma xipactinemi (May you be well)

  • I wish one would not use always all the time those beautiful chants covered by electro beats..why not the real thing if any?

For those unaware of naitve American history

read "Bury my Heart at Wounded knee by Dee Brown and all your questions will be answered.

  • i love the music

  • Love this video...It really showed how Awesome and Fierce the Comanche Tribe is.....

  • Did you make the music yourself? Nice job, if so

  • yes i add in the music to each of my videos normaly i hear the music and then get a feel for what goes with the music.

  • i may ask a stupid question. but are the race of indians extinct nowadays? one day i saw footage on history channel with people shooting down indian tribe and barrow them in a big hole its so sad. and i saw a footage like "marching" inside there camp 1 after the other almost naked. i like it cause it was very very old footage and interesting

  • Extinct indians ? well im not sure what footage you saw so i cannot comment on the actual film you watched, but first of all i presume you are reffering to Native Americans & not indian people? there are plenty NA going around so no not extinct, im sure what you saw did happen along with other horrible things, though id like to point out we are all one race humans no matter our colour, as we are all related

  • i ike the dead mans walk clips!!
