@Cas36t that's a matter of opinion. jimi hendrix was not great because he was more skilled than buckethead, he was simply ahead of his time. everything jimi did, buckethead can do and more. in fact he loves covering hendrix songs. look em up before you judge.
GUYs its not slash funs its slash GIRLS funs slash is my favorite g.player cause he got the most orgasm rock n rolla sound but hell no he dont even is close to buckethead ffs
i personally thank bucket for his persona.. hell i did not even realize the man was 42.. goes show ya.. when we are left to focus on the music.. the mind is wide open to explore..
@justaguitardude Saw Bucket back in August and although it was a mostly white male 20 something audience...i saw all races and genders..One of the coolest things was meeting 3 generations of fans...Dad(76)-Son(45) sons son(23)--Im 47 and your comment ring so true---Its all about the music!!
@ahardiman251 well you are one of the few people that mentions eddie hazel, but i don't consider this biting. allthough this song reminds me a lil bit of maggot brain. but buckethead is a big hazel fan and he is inspired by him. and buckethead still makes music with bootsy collins and bernie worrell, who were 2 of eddie's best friends. it's rether paying homage than biting.
@ahardiman251 yeah he and bootsy are good friends. and buckethead also is the band praxis with bernie worrell and bill laswell, and brian mantia on drums. talking bout supergroup. i think that on guitar there is only one greatest and that is jimi hendrix. and after him are too many great players to even make a list. my favorites are jimi, eddie hazel, stevie ray and slash. but buckethead is so versitile i think he's definetly one of the greatest ever!
@ahardiman251 thanks foe the compliment. i sometimes say ingnorant stuff also, but not when it comes to eddie. i looked on wikepedia. found out that this album was a dedication to eddie. that's why it sounds so alike. and in 2008 bootsy and bucket were in another band called science faxtion. the list of albums that bothe bootsy and bucket have is really impressive.
@Funkdogg I love Eddie's music. I play around a little bit and when people find out I get asked who my top favorite guitarists are and his name comes up. They just ask who the fuck is that? I pull him up so they can hear him and they're usually blown away. Definitely one of the best and THE most underrated guitarist of all time.
@Funkdogg Never too late bud! I only started about half a year ago at the age of 23 and if you're really passionate about it you'll make a decent progress. Most likely not as awesome as the B'head but hell, he was taught by Paul Gilbert. :( Soothsayer was actually the first song I learned, at least the intro. ^^
Would take Buckethead's music over Guthrie ANY day. Guthrie might be a great improvisor, but as a songwriter Buckethead is so far ahead of him its ridiculous. Just looks at Bucket's catalogue of albums, and he doesn't just write the same fusion track EVERY song....intense 'musician'......and an incredible 'artist', not just "the guy that does solos on youtube...."
@gyselboy I was trying to get all the demon doors in fable 2 opened up and the video had Soothsayer in it lol :'( for some reason i have to listen to buckethead when i play fable now, and the guitar playin sons'a bitch inspired me to play
Buckethead is one of those musicians that are so good that their music will never die and people will be listening to him for many many years to come. Buckethead will live on forever.
@crayhead I think Tosin Abasi perhaps matches him, considering that Tosin is much younger. Go listen to songs like On Impulse, Tempting time, CAFO and Odessa by Animals as Leaders.
If you are a truth seeker, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says. Everyone needs to see this. The Present will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people. You will see what I mean when you read the first page.

@VanzDoren I hear ya. That's why I find him so special. He plays what he wants, not to any specific, "genre". I really like Ron Thal and John 5, also. Guys who I feel are equally talented and unique, in my very humble opinion.
This makes me feel understood, like i'm not an individual trapped on a planet full of pure hatred. For one man to be able to make his guitar speak to me (and the rest of you) Is a talent no one else on this earth will ever be able to accomplish, Buckethead is pure talent. I physically cannot get my head around how people dislike his music
I rarely listen to anything but 60's and 70's music....It's hard to find that depth and creativity in today's music. Buckethead is an exception--this 70's chick is a fan!
How can any single human being EVER make such a beautiful piece of music? It's damn near impossible. Makes you think of so many things... makes me think my life over... :/ lol
anyways... THE GREATEST artist to ever grace the face of the earth, and the greatest to ever live.
If you like this song.....who dosen't? Anyways check out my song all produced by me im lightyears away from this but hey im open to constructive criticism. You can find it in the video responses under Progressive Rock "Sound Waves and Frequencies"

@KingKook Actually, you dim wit tool, bees sip nectar from a flower, willing or otherwise. The bees convert the nectar to honey back at the hive in the honey comb, much the way Lord Mighty Bucket converts drab, sour notes into kaleidoscopic symphonies of pure orgasmic bliss. Or like a hobo converts a filthy discarded scrap of aluminum foil into a still filthy but curiously shaped crown. Sweet Sandaled Jesus, Kingkook, you are a dullard of the highest order.
@MyCookiesDammit i think buckethead would rather have a comment that comes from the heart rather then some stupid "hey guys paste this on every song!" comment. so please, stop doing that.
jimi hendrix was great in his time but Buckethead is something more than everything! he is a thing now that is untouchable genius laden fingertips of golden steel
I am desperately hoping that my children will grow up to be Bucketheads. At the moment all I can see sprouting from their scalps is hair but I check them six times a day in the hope that I can spot the beginnings of a KFC logo emerging.
In my opinion, buckethead is a better guitarist than slash. buckethead has a special place in the world of music. comparing the slash to buckethead is like comparing any guitarist (pick your favorite--besides buckethead) to Mozart. they're both amazing, just completely different and shouldnt be compared.
@greensp4rk Well said my friend. People need to to stop comparing period. This hole who's better than who is some sort of egoic dysfunction. It's like the hole left right paradigm that runs our sick and twisted world. Be free and find the love in all. Peace!!
So beautiful... Slash fans can suck their dicks! This proves that Buckethead does play with soul and emotion, Slash or anybody else could never write a solo as beautiful as this
My cat was wondering if she could leave a comment here after hearing this song. She would like to say something from the heart. She has instructed me to type the following words:
"People of Earth - yes, you weird people that don't lick your own rectums and genitalia - I feel your pain."
Please address all responses to Miss Fluffy Face.
WTF my Heart goes into shock at a point then out then in , feel numb by the awsomnesss of melo and perfect effects , can only say I'm Enchanted ,love you bucket head please live long and continue to mermelizeing us Humans.

to everyone hating on slash...
