  • I am considering being an NAVY translator how hard is itand also how long will it be befor going over seas iam 9th grade got three years iam working out with my brother to loose weight ab=nd join possibly what should i do

  • Nice hand writing.

  • it's people Personality i mean your Personality why they make it big deal ????

i'm sure they lost a good translator like you cause you have a good Arabic exant and clear

  • DONT ASK DONT TELL IF HE WOULD OF NEVER TOLD SOMEBODY HE WAS GAY THEY WOULD OF NEVER DISCHARGED HIM BECAUSE MY UNCLE GAY AND HE'S STILL IN THE NAVY CUZ HE NEVER TOLD ANYBODY....THATS Y PPL DIE CUZ THERE DUMB AND RUN THEY MOUTH

  • u deserve it gay :@

  • LOL he was probably a greek fag solider

  • THE GREEKS WENT IN BATTLE NAKED THEN WOULD FALL THEIR ENEMIES FUCKING RIGHT ON THE BATTLE FEILD......OHHHHH YYYYEEAAAH

  • I'm a girl and even I know gay is shit

  • I couldn't help but laughing out loud at the silly stereotype-cliché picture of gay men in some comments. Blowing kisses, pink streamers, pomeranians... ROTFLMBFAO It's no less ridiculous and biased than assuming every African-American guys is a superb basketball player, every French is a Gauloises-smoking sex maniac and every Muslim is an evil terrorist. Turn off your PC/TV and take a look at the real world for a change. There's more to life than hating gays for just being gays.

  • I wish the military was ready for a full repeal of DADT, but from hearing comments from servicepeople online, on TV and conversation, I don't think the military is ready. It's a shame that so many talented servicepeople are either gay and cannot come out or are homophobic. I hope a full repeal would not seriously hamper military readiness even more than this policy does. The only change the military is ready for is to make svcmembers that out gays in the closet a very serious offense.

  • Im not American nor live in America but what @watkiada is true its all about how an army looks like at the face of the enemies imagine your army invades some country in the middle east or something your guyses soldiers come out and say oh im going to invade you with some kises. dont be pussies Americans commenting on this video or any you care for everything

  • Dumbass fags. Look at all your bullshit. I'll tell you why it matters. It's about the dignity and strength of America. What our military force looks like in the face of our enemies. What will an enemy think when our tanks come rolling up with pink streamers and our soldiers hop out with perfectly cut Pomeranians, tight cut camo shorts, and a lisp? What I'm trying to say is; we'd be LAUGHED AT! Stick to cutting hair, fasion, and interior design.

  • 'Oh, he's gay. He totally can't fight because he'll be distracted by the attractive soldiers.' WE NEED TRANSLATORS, NOT PETTY DISCRIMINATION!

  • @GeorgeBushRocks558 Somebody sounds a little mad. You mad? Well "fags" like Perez Hilton as well as other open homosexuals make more money than you. Get used to it. Nothing makes you better than anybody else as an individual. Skin color, religion, and orientation do NOT, and SHOULD NOT, matter in today's society. I'm not even gay, i just see the larger picture. A gay man willing to risk his life for you and the country and you disregard it. Get off your high horse.

  • In the Christian BILBE it says that you should not be gay and the U.S.A is a Christian country so.... do the math

  • @killmachine12 This is why it actually would have been a good thing of Obama was Muslim. A majority of the U.S. shouldn't be able to make the nation as a whole disregard the rights of citizens. Christianity shouldn't have anything to do with anything, but Christianity. Good post.

Pertaining to the video. With the information posted about. There is don't ask don't tell. Somewhat late for that for coming out.. Just a little sacrifice of staying silent for something you truely want to do.

  • @killmachine12 Lulz. You're funny. The U.S.A. has some significant Christian traditions and has been heavily influenced by Christianity. But last time I checked, there are many different cultures here and some of them aren't Christian. So, Beavis, the US is not strictly a Christian country. And don't give me that crap about "The Pledge" or "In God We Trust" on currency. That was officially made law in the 50's as a response to "gawdlezz Cumunism". Now go fuck your sister and chew yr chaw!

  • @GeorgeBushRocks558 answer me why they don't, tell me where it says it wrong to be gay.

  • See.! Even is the USA gays are treated differently, Not only in our Arab World! -_-

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe someone should investigate the whole Navy. Seriously, on a boat with how many other guys...QUEER ALERT!

  • @MrROTCcadet navy is coed, meaning they are women on the ships

  • You know how to poke poopholes, I think that's what you're best at lol

  • NO GAYS I DON'T WANT TO BE CHECKED OUT WITH MY SHIRT OFF BYE SOME DUDE

  • damn that's fucked up

  • long live to live to america.

  • THANKYOU MILITARY for kicking this fool.

It's bad enough gay people force there orientation in our school systems to younger kids to make them gay.

  • @Tensei85 you're just so stupid... i cannot believe there's people like you in this world. You are the only one who has a big problem. I don't like people who dont let/want other people happy... so sad

  • @Tensei85, you're a moron.

  • Go into the private business.

As a none ethnic Arab speaking person, as in more cultural tied to the people you work for than vice versa, and have combat training I would reckon you would easily get a better paid job in the private sector.

  • if u were in the military u wouldnt want a gay guy showersing next to u thats y u dnt ask or tell....

  • As a gay american, all I have to say is FUCK THE US MILITARY They don't deserve this guy, he's too good for them. I hope I live to see the day when the american people see these Jesus freaks as the cancer on society as they are.

  • You really think this is bad, they killed him i bet by beheading it is called the death pen. This is how shit there countries are!

  • Its pretty difficult to keep it a secret that you are gay. You live so close with each other. Not because he talks about his boyfriends, but because of the str8s talking about their girl friends. Str8 guys in the military parade around the fact that they are str8. So unless the gay guy wants to "pretend" to be str8 and parade around with a girl, the lack of a girl or wife is usually enough cause guys to "figure you out". Doing and saying nothing is admission that you are gay.

  • @SethKlan The don't ask don't tell policy is stupid. It's stupid that homosexuals should be allowed to serve so long as they live secret lives. What makes me even more angry is that if there is ever a draft, homosexuals would still be forced to serve and then shit all over in the end. It's grossly disrespectful of our government. Whatever happened to equality and liberty, you know the things we were taught growing up?? It's all propaganda and lies

  • @xxblodlustxx I am not supporting DADT. I think it is stupid that gays can't serve in the military. The homophobes who take action against gays in the military need to be drummed out of the military. If they think that they are so morally superior to gays, just because they stick their dicks in a woman instead of a man, they are crazy.

  • If you're willing to put your life on the line for you own country, PLEASE tell me WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER if you like other guys?

  • @saumaun92

BECAUSE HE BROKE THE RULES BOI!

He can SERVE his country, all he must do is not oust himself by saying he's gay, while others around him can't ask or interrogate him about his sexuality.

SIMPLE AS THAT BOI. NOW LEARN TO PLAY BOI OR GTFO.

  • @XaviersSecretary and because its the rules makes it less disgusting? That man put his life in harms way, and you want to sit here and tell him that he deserved being fired because of something as trivial as sexual preference? Is that right 'boi'?

  • @saumaun92

MAH BOI... Why is there a need for a homosexual man to tell everyone he is a homosexual, when the military is about serving the country. Don't ask don't tell inhibits a homosexual to state their sexuality, while refraining others from asking the individual in question his/her sexuality.

MAH BOI. Sexuality preference is not disgusting. But politics must be left out of something like the military. L2P.

  • How stupid were you to be found out that you were gay? Don't Ask, Don't Tell is fine. You must have been caught doing something sexual. Big dumb dumb.

  • why did you tell them you were gay ?

  • it is hard to live in homophobic country, I don't know how long it will last..

  • gaaaaaaaaaay

  • the navy is for fags

  • you are the best example of man cuz is not easy to wear a unifor and go to war.u are a hero ,i dont see ur homosexuality as a barrel.i see i u as a human being.

and im proud of u ,good luck

  • BIG idiot u r

  • Wow, kicked out just because your gay? I'd say, Get your gun and get to the war, fuck your sexuality.

  • Comment removed

  • i knew it! yankee! so stupid comment

    btw, its Arabic ;)

  • uhh great video totaly support the cause and bla bla bla but whats with the very end Lol so random

  • You fucking suck.. he could help your country prevent from getting raped up the ass by insurgents

    Uk all the way :P

  • I bet you would know.

  • America is so fuckign backward it's rediculous, get with the times you fucking morons!

  • finely the navy did 1 right thing banning you fucking gays

  • Gays should be shooting at the troops not with them

  • how the FUCK does liking men interfere with anything in the frontlines?

  • being entrenched with 5 or 6 sweaty gun-toting men day and night for about a week

    straight translation

sitting in a hole with 5 - 6 hooters girls in uniform for a week

it's a little more clear how that would affect someone now, right? i'm not against gays in the military, i'm just saying, i just think they shouldn't be openly admitting to it to the rest of their homophobic division, basically asking to be crucified for their service to our country

  • yea, but when bullets are flying past my face for hours on end i wouldnt care if megan fox was sitting there giving me a blowjob. i would be focused on the war, not my sexuality. it has nothing to do with being on the frontlines.

  • why does this guy have so many videos that make the american military bad. Is he a raghead?

  • I Dont Care is You Pray to Satin in your spare time, and Dream about Fucking Dead bodies in your sleep.....As long as you serve your country and/or make a Difference, you have my Respect.

  • nicely put.

  • Thanks

  • if the miltary doesnt want gay people here they should allow us to fuck the female recruits

  • They know before hand that they aren't allowed to OPENLY admit to being gay. It's a policy, if you don't like it, don't join.

  • he isn't really gay he was an actor and this was made by the democratic people

  • gucciboy is right, its the fact that you need to be up front honest when first enlisting...and you weren't. regardless what you were taught or what you knew, allowing you to proceed on wouild just allow others to bitch why they got booted out for lying to get in...thats all fraudulant enlistment. "NO EXCEPTIONS"

  • man i speak arabic fluently i should get a job like in the intellegence! that would be cool lol

oh but there's one little problem! oh.. i am gay! well americans rather be terrorized than being associated with homosexuals!

    what a bunch of rednecks

  • You got kicked out for lying. I will not lie, cheat, or steal nor tolerate those among us who do so.

  • WTF!!!???!!!!??? WHAT DOES BEING GAY HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING??? Kicking someone out of the military because of who they sleep with is way below my intelligence. I ti snot who tehy sleep with, but if thy are a good follower and leader. That is all that matters. How well can you serve your country.

  • @SDTricker because the us is backed by christian morals, and the military feels homosexuals aren't proper representatives for our country. if he was kicked out under don't ask don't tell he must have told or done something that would have made it apparent he was gay, so either way its his fault.

with our system gays can serve w/out inhibiting mission success or breaking troop adhesion, and the system generally works. a lot of time and $ was invested in him and he obviously blew it

  • God does not exist.

  • Why don't you want a gay man serving? What does sexual orientation have to do with being a good server of your country or a good leader??

  • I agree with you, baby. Now go stop some bullets for us

  • Check it !!!!! I RESPECT GAY PEOPLE!!! Im in the Navy , There is a reason why they dont allow lesbians and gays in like this, because when you go on a deployment , people start missing there wifes and girlfriends, and a man acting like a women is the closest thing to a women, so a man may be swade to turn gay, im not gay and i dont plan on it, but you dont understand what a straight man goes thru how much we miss our love ones back home , you never been on Deployment even as a straight man

  • Get A Life you fu*kin homophobics!!!!

  • lol, ied

  • What aor guys going to do when the hook up with the military from a nation where dado does not exist. Gay people there serve with pride instead of in the closet. you can be yourself but we have to hide. Man...that is so wrong and so unamerican. think about it and I mean with an open mind if that is possible

  • eeew

  • The worse terrorism threatening our country's security are the homophobes who continue to condem otherwise quaified, honest citizens preventing them from serving in the military solely on the basis of their sexual orientation.

  • Actually to some comments below Gay people and lesbians do more good in this world than the "straights" of this planet. IMO We drive green cars - I myself am 19 and gay I drive a smart car and I am really eco-friendly.

  • ummmm isn't that kinda like stereo typing? (no harm intended)

I dont think ALL gay/lesbians are like that...

  • Strange you say bullshit? To what? That LGBT people are dedicated to their jobs and should not have to worry that if they to contact their loved ones, spouses, and/or partner they will be discharged? You make a quick judgment about my age, but i learn that the older a person is the harder their head tends to be. Perhaps you cant understand that despite a persons age they can understand many things in the world? FYI most of my friends are much older than me. I associate myself with mature people

  • Your comment without prior knowledge of who I am and to whom I associate myself with only shows how despite your age youare quite immature at best. Furthermore my "too many friends" happen to be four close friends that were dishonorably discharged due to assholes who outed them against their will. They were not open about their lives in any way unlike the heterosexuals at the bases they were stationed at. Your arrogance and ignorance is astounding but then again I am not surprised.

  • Comment removed

  • Its more than a behavior, its who a person is. Its time educated people learn the facts about homosexuality. I have had too many friends who are married to their spouses dishonorably discharged for simply being caught talking to them on their own computers, cell phones, or just carrying a photo of their spouse with them. These people have lives, being gay is part of their life, its time you accept that they are human, they are normal and they are dedicated to their careers; like it or not.

  • gay getting owned

  • if their were gay guys and lesbos every were the world would be even more fucked up they make the world look bad fuck who ever is gay cause ur a worthlkess shit head

  • i dont think there is anything wrong with being gay. but i dont blame the military in the slightest for not letting them in, because honestly i believe it would have negative psychological effects on other members of thier squad, even if the effecst are subconscious. sorry its just the way it is

  • Sorry but according to the overwhelming empirical, objective evidence, nothing happens to the psychology of any people in a platoon or squadron if there is an openly gay member in their ranks. This ban is completely unwarranted, and despite your misinformed beliefs its time you start listening to the "real" evidence provided by the APA and other metal institutions that deal with these issues of bigotry and irrationality on a daily basis.

  • hahaha so you have "evidence" that there is no psychological effect of having an openly gay member of a squadron. i bet its just a poll taken of other people in squads, who will of course say they have no problem with it, and i doubt they would. but you cannot sit there and say they don't subconsciously have any bias towards them especially in a life or death situation which is when it matters most. but you can hold on to you "real" evidence all you want

  • I think you need to serve by the rules, Dont ask Dont tell, what is more simple then that? Why bring your person life into the face of the Military? I have served with guys who I knew were gay, I kept quite because they wanted to server and nobody can ask more! I dont care what you do in bed gay or not, that being said we dont have coed showers for a reason. Disruption would be the norm, & last I "toe the line" the mil was not responsible for anybodys personal feelings. Dont ask Dont tell.

  • piss off fags

  • "To each their own" - J. Christ

  • I'm not comparing black, or asians people to homosexuals..

Say your best buddy was fighting along side you, and he saved your life many times overe and over.. you have saved his life aswell.. He thentrusts you enough to tell you something that he thinks that you're civilized enough to comprehend. He's gay.. What do you do?? Accept your friend of many years, or dump him to the side, and end that friendship right there??

  • That's just as bad as being horribly racist. Are you okay with a black man, or a chinese man fighting along side you??

One must remember aswell, just because you're gay, doesn't mean that you are attracted to every other man that you see..

  • Tell me something... How does somebody being gay say in california affect you if you were to live in like florida?? It doesn't.

  • You're an ignorant fool that needs to be ran over by a drunk driver!! Stop being so ignorant!!

  • damn,, thats some fucked up shit.

  • poor guy :(

  • I agree, its time to lift the homophobic ban. and allow gays to serve openly and women as well

  • i salute you guy for telling your story!

  • with respect to women serving in the military....do you not know that women are NOT allowed to serve in combat and they are barred from many specific MOS's, units and jobs? I guess that makes the military a bunch of bigoted misogynists in addition to being homophobes, eh? LOL

  • if he really aced such a difficult program (arabic and chinese linguistics are quite possibly the hardest training program in the military without prior experience) he should be working as a civilian interpreter for cnn or fox news because the interpretaors they have sound like they have had 5 days of training. i feel like shooting myself in the head every time i hear one of those inept bastards. oh, i forgot, they do that on purpose to further dumb down the population...

  • When a homosexual wants to serve as openly gay with other soldiers, live in the same quarters, share the same showers, etc., how is that ANY different from a heterosexual male soldier who wants to live with heterosexual female soldiers? Why can't straight men share a barracks and showers with straight women in the military? When you can HONESTLY answer that question, you'll understand why DADT is necessary.

  • Actually, no. If you're really that concerned about showering with a gay guy (which you should't be, for cripes sakes no one's going to come onto you), that still doesn't justify keeping all gay people out of the military.

There's also a big difference between how a woman would feel safe alone with a man (the man is inherently stronger and thus could overpower the woman) and two guys, one of whom happens to be gay. There isn't the imbalance of power/security between the sexes.

  • now you're just acting in a very bigoted manner towards straights, which I also find to be typical among homosexuals....how dare you suggest that a straight man would be anything other than completely professional sharing the same barracks and same showers with straight women. Of course they would, and to suggest otherwise is just bigoted heterophobic hysteria. sounds like you're not really interested in equal rights for gays, you want special rights for gays. And that ain't fair.

  • what on earth are you talking about? You're the who made the comparison between straight men and straight women in the shower. 'Typical of homosexuals?' you don't know the first thing about me (let alone homosexuals as a group).

  • Being part of the military involves peforming tasks, assignments, training and preparing for tours eg. there's a whole job involved, as you well know. Being gay is no impediment to performing a job just as well as the straight soldiers.

Where I have a problem with your argument is that the only reason you have against gays in the military is that you are uncomfortable being around them. That's your problem, and doesn't give you the right to fire someone from their job.

  • Why is everyone talking about all this gay stuff now days? It's getting really annoying.

  • im not gay but thats REALLY messed up..

  • Wow. I served in the Army and just had my first child at age 42. What's the problem with gays in the military? I don't see it. All of you people who say it's wrong are idiots. And as for the Iraqis who post insults here: Get your shit together and you won't be walked on. But all I see are the Iraqis in power telling all the GOOD Iraqis how to live their lives.America ain't the problem. All of you vets should be ashamed for posting anti-gay comments. And as for you "armchair soldiers", get a life.

  • as a female who served in the military, how would you have felt if your commanding officers told you that you had to shower and bunk with straight men? and that if you complained about it, you'd be called a bigoted man-hater? straight men have a basic right to privacy in the military, just like women. and yeah, I served - honorably. so save your chickenhawk bullshit for someone else.

  • As a gay varsity athlete for a major university, I can tell you your argument is completley invalid. Let's take it at face value - if YOU, as a female, were changing with the men, wouldn't you be keeping your head down and getting in an out as fast as possible, because you're more worried about your own safety.

How pathetic of you to presume that other people have no self control. I don't spend all my time checking out my teammates. I'm here to compete, just as gay soldiers are there to serve.

  • dude, you don't get it at all....your argument fails because men and women DO NOT bunk together, shower together, dress in front of each other, etc. Now, why do you suppose that is, college boy? Why don't single men and women shower together at universities, gymnasiums, in the military, etc? When you figure out the answer to that simple question, you'll understand why openly gay service in the military doesn't work.

  • Thank you for completely ignoring what I said. I'm a gay guy and and I've bunked with a straight roommate, showered with straight teammates etc etc. And NOTHING was going on. It's pathetic bigots like you who think someone's going to come onto you or something. And as for your discomfort, that's your own damn problem. And as we already know, there are plenty of gay men and women in the military, they just have to hide it. So really, what's the difference? Only that you pretend gays don't exist

  • Publicity from gay propaganda Stew. There are actually fewer gays in the military than they'd say. And as far as I know there are no known homos in my unit. The number of gay discharges since the DADT is not your actual truth because more than half of those are heteros falsely claiming to be gays in order to leave the service without getting in trouble. That's a known fact in the military. And to compare the life of an athlete to that of a soldier is ridiculous....

  • Of course there are no KNOWN gays in your unit - wouldn't you have reported them if they were? It doesn't sound like you're that comfortable around gay guys. What exactly is it that you're afraid of? If there was a gay guy in your unit, trust me he's probably a lot more scared of you than you are of him. No one's going to come onto you for god's sake.

I made the comparison because people keep bringing up bunking or showering together, which are things you do when you're an athlete in college.

  • ...now, I'm with the arctic wolves. When we train for survival during winter it's mostly 40 degrees below zero. Do you know how cold that is? We go skin to skin if we have to. Now you'll understand if I prefer to do that with a straight guy, won't you?

  • I'm from Canada's Northwest Territories, and have been in substantially colder than -40. I would grant you that Don't Ask Don't Tell is probably an easy way for those enlisted who fear dying in Iraq to get out of service, but I think you overestimate what proportion that would make up - most of these people are in the military for the right reasons and lose their jobs and livelihood by being thrown up - see the Arabic translator in this video.

  • Here you are comparing again Stew. You're colder than -40 is entirely different from mine. You weren't out there in the cold for days were you? And no, I'm not exaggerating the number. Why do you think you've only seen few of these gay servicemen that has been discharged? And this Arabic linguist, he knew what he was & he knew about the policy, yet he still enlisted and wasted the govt's time and resources. He told and then blame the military for not keeping him....

  • Actually if you check your thermometer, -40 is where the centigrade and farenheit scales meet, so they are the same temperature. I've done winter camp with cadets (10 days) so yeah I know how it feels.

That's a spurious statement, how many 'fake' gays have you seen that have gotten out intentionally? Most of these people don't want everyone to know their personal business, and don't have the resource to fight against this unjust law (they've just lost their jobs after all).

  • You sound like an intelligent guy but you're sure dense, you took it literally. Let me put it this way, I could be at 10 degrees to your -40 but I would still be colder. I've tried winter camps too in preparation for USARAK. Survival training & camping are two entirely different things. And that spurious statement I made, come on Stew. When gays were banned outright there were only few discharges. Then DADT came along & the figures doubled and climb steadily...

  • ...and I don't think it's because gays in the US military decided to come out of the closet all of a sudden. And I'm in the US army, we were informed about DADT. Just because someone told you're gay doesn't mean you will be discharge outright. They would have to investigate and the military is prohibited to investigate a soldier's sexual orientation. What they need is to prove that you engaged in homosexual conduct...

  • ...and that's hard to prove. You have to own up to being gay and sometimes they wouldn't even believe you. You have to provide the proof yourself. So you see he must have told them, thus wasting everything. And I agree you didn't choose to be gay but if you enter an institution that doesn't tolerate homosexual act then you have better do something about it.

  • ....maybe he thought because he knew Arabic and that there's war in Iraq, he would be indispensable. You violate military rules then there would be consequences. And yes, anyone violating DADT will be reported and investigated along with those soldiers that didn't report the violation. I'm not afraid of 'em Stew. I'm just your average straight guy who thinks your choice of sexual partner disgusting and no straight guy will willingly choose a gay guy for his room mate.

  • It's really insulting for you to say something like 'wasting the gov'ts resources'. This guys is from a military family and wanted to serve his country. HE DID NOT TELL, please get your facts straight, he was told on. And like you, I think it's pathetic that straight people would fake being gay to get out of service - in fact that's another reason to get rid of the dumb law.

You can think gays are gross, that's your business. However, you have to know by now no one chooses to be gay, trust me.

  • i notice you didn't answer the question, which, frankly, is typical...anytime someone who parrots the pro-gay agenda is asked WHY single men and women don't cohabitate in the same dorms, share the same showers, the same barracks in the military, etc., they want to change the subject. Well, I'm not going to let you change the subject-the reason why men and women don't share quarters is because of SEXUAL ATTRACTION...duh? Unless gays have NO sexual desires, your argument fails.Try not to cry.

  • I'm not avoiding anything, which question are you referring to? (and I'm trying to keep things civil here no need to be insulting). Every straight guy always assumes that every gay man is hot for him, it's pretty pathetic. As I described to you, I shower and change and shared quarters with straight roommates and teammates, and even if I thought someone was good looking I didn't do anything about it precisely because they're my friends and teammates. Why do you think gay men have no self control?

  • "Why do you think gay men have no self control?"

Why do you think straight men have no control? If gay men can control themselves, surely you'd have to agree straight men can as well (unless you're a bigot) therefore, there's no reason why men and women can't share the same quarters, dress and undress in front of each other, share locker rooms, and share showers....right?

  • I do think straight men can control themselves, that was my point. And so can gay men. Therefore, there shouldn't be any problem, right?

  • so if you believe straight men can control themselves just like gay men, then why on earth do we keep men and women separated in the military? why do women and men each have their own quarters, showers, locker rooms, etc? i mean, if there is no problem with self-control, men and women should be just fine sharing these things.....right?

  • Why is it that gay men automatically ASSUME that straight men assume gay men are hot for them? Dude, I'm middle-aged, pudgy and bald. Believe me, I do NOT think gay men are "hot" for me. Sorry to disappoint you by destroying yet another heterophobic stereotype. I Do think, however, that openly gay service is not conducive to good order and disciple - for the same reason why allowing men and women to cohabitate in the military would not be conducive to good order and discipline.

  • You just disproved your own point? You claim that you believe people have self control, and yet you insist that it's not 'good for order and discipline' for people who might be attracted to one another to live and work together. Make up your mind? This is what makes me laugh, these bizarre rationalizations of prejudice.

  • um, that's called a hypothetical to prove a point, which apparently sailed past your head. of course straight men can exercise self-control, but yet men do NOT bunk and shower with women in the military....why do you suppose that is? Any clue? it never ceases to amaze me how completely devoid homosexuals are from the realities in the rest of the world...you think the world revolves around you and act like whining children when you don't get your way. it's a frightening level of immaturity.

  • Gay men are always going to change with straight men (and lesbians with straight women etc). It only seems to bother people like you who obsess about it endlessly.

More importantly, if this was really all you were concerned about, you'd have no problem with gays in the military, you'd just be in favour of the 'openly gay' ones bunking with the women instead, or living in alternative barracks.

And EVERY SINGLE ONE of your arguments was peddled when they were trying to keep women out of service

  • I notice that yet again, you refuse to answer a simple question - let me ask it again.....men and women in the military shower and bunk SEPARATELY. Given that we both agree heterosexuals are at least as capable as homosexuals of controlling themselves, WHY, praytell, don't we have women and men sharing the same showers, barracks, etc? Maybe you'll answer this time.

  • your cousin and sister served, so i guess that makes you an expert on what does or doesn't work for the US military? i actually served in the military, commanded troops, and have a reasoned, experience-based opinion to offer on the topic of gays in the military, having served on many defense installations both here and abroad. you can spare me the stereotypes about not knowing anything outside the US. and yes, I'd say advocating radical social experimentation makes one a de facto radical.

  • Gay soldiers serve openly in most other 1st world countries. These forces are perfectly functional and no one's safety, no mission's efficacy has ever been compromised because of someone's sexual orientation.

And let's be clear - if DADT is really allowing so many soldiers to fake their way out of service, that's just another reason for it to be scrapped. Also, the idea that allowing gays in the military would deter recruitment is not a lawful argument against openly serving.

  • you have no idea WHAT happens in other militaries, unless you're going to tell me you yourself served in all of them. free clue about the military that everyone who has ever worn a uniform knows to be true - if the military "wants" a program to succeed, they will say the program has succeeded whether it has or not. whistle-blowers are not appreciated by commanders, to the point that one's career might be threatened. Forgive me if I don't jump for joy at your claim about "mission efficacy."

  • As I pointed out, most 1st world countries allow gays to serve in their militaries, and THEY are the ones recommending the US get with the times and allow the same, that is if they have any interest in retaining qualified soldiers.

The US's two closest allies, Great Britain and Canada, have both allowed gays in the military and nothing's wrong with order and discipline. There're always going to be some who grumble but that doesn't make them right.

  • As I've pointed out multiple times, the US military is the best in the world for many reasons, one of which is we don't subject our troops to social experiments in order to appease radical homosexual activists. Our military has recommended to other militaries that if they wish to be as good as we are, they should follow our lead. And again, spare me the uninformed assumptions about gays serving in other militaries-unless you've served there yourself, you have no idea what's going on.

  • The US military is the biggest and most expensive in the world. This doesn't make it the best (though it may well be). Don;t delude yourself with this 'social experiment'' BS. I have a sister and a cousin in the military, one of whom did a tour in Afghanistan. I'm not uninformed. You obviously don't have a clue about anything going on outside the US.

Radical homosexual activists??? lmao. More than half the US population wants to repeal the ban, not to mention many generals and politicans.

  • it would be the best if it would stop being a bunch of homophobes and sexist people we have the best tech the best training suits that make you hear and see better things that would scare the living shit out of any country and very not normal weapons but on all that they wont let someone who is gay wich is very NORMAL join the army looks like my hopes of airforce are gone :( lol

  • just to point out Canada has some of the best pilots and Britain has the SAS so there doing pretty good

  • Lift the ban? Hell no!!! I know they did not choose to be gays but if they want to be in the military they'd better not act on it. If there's no homosexual act then he can't be gay. In the military there is always someone telling you what to do, when to do it & how & you'd better obey. Why would the military ease up on these homos anyway & I'm sure the secret is not gonna kill you. Besides it would screen the real gay people who had the calling from those gays with stupid reasons for joining.

  • Wake up, boy. If you are in the military, then you are a disgrace. If not, then join and see how you feel about someone who could potentially save your life. I am not gay, but gays in the military are people who serve. Better yet, just go home from these wars and let it end. I am a vet.

  • Just because I don't agree with gays serving openly in the military I'm a disgrace? Wake up yourself. I don't mind them serving, it's the "openly" I don't care about. Bottom line is, I don't mind them as long as they're discreet about their homosexual activities. I wish I'm open minded as you but I really can't understand this gay tendencies & I find it disgusting. This from a 4th generation soldier.

  • there's something about two guys kissing, holding hands, etc., that makes the average straight man's skin crawl. it just creeps me the fuck out - makes me almost want to puke when I see it. not figuratively...literally. gays do not belong in the military - they are incompatible with the good order and discipline required to be an effective fighting force. if gays want to play soldier, let them form their own military.

  • usamericanz...

you had the most effective replys i'v ever seen in my life. .

  • you got that right, it's creepy & I agree with qxe4...and I hope to God the policy stands.

  • you're a pathetic person. It's your own damn problem if you're uncomfortable with gay people - that's what constitututes bigotry. Plenty of other countries allow gay people to serve openly in their military and there's no problem with order and discipline.

  • you are a disgrace - no ifs ands or buts. Why the hell should other people have to hide who they are just to satisfy your prejudices?
