What is the clicker? I have a mini and would like to train him.

Hi there,

A clicker is a little box that makes a "click" when you press the button. The reason I use it in training is that it tells the horse "yes" I like what you did and then you follow that with a small tidbit of food or something the horse likes. It's how they train whales and dolphins at Sea World.

Thanks! Check out the final version of the video where they did more fun things as well. With Clicker Training all I had to do was wait until they started to lie down, and then *click* It was very easy to teach that way. Good luck!

I use clicker training for my full sized horses too. Things like lead changes and good stops are all things that have been taught and improved with the clicker. I'll bet you're great with your horses.
