  • People, I tell you the most clear explanation about this track, I hope you will get the fact.

    1. This is famous fake-Bregovic-album which is nothing common with him. This is sure info from his office. He doesn't play in the cd, and isn't the producer.

This fake cd used to be sold in illegal copy cd stands on streets in East Europe.

    2. The track is by Chieftains, the world famous Irish group.

    3. The song is Breton originally, beloved not only in Brittany(Breizh) but also in many countries nowadays.

  • Tá Éire saor in aisce!

    Ireland is free!

  • hi, goran bregovic is only the producer of this cd called - Irish Song 1998- he didn't played in it.

This song is also also known as "Son ar sistr" and "Son ar jistr" is a folk song from Brittany (Bretagne), Some sources claim this song was written in the late 1920s by an unknow Breton piper but most siaid it was written by Jean-Bernard and Jean-Marie Prima in the Guiscriff-Roudoualec area of Brittany in 1929.

many artist played this song, like alan stivell, chieftains .....

  • This melody belongs to traditional march of German communist party (spartakus league).Rosa Luxemburg, Karl liebkhecht and many others sang this song when they executed by fascist (formal nazis).

By the way ,Turkish and Northern Kurdistan Communist Party(mlcp) inspired by this march and translated in Turkish as well. the march of unity. You can see it from the link below.

    Kind Regards.

  • this melody is a traditional Irish melody, a sound particularly Irish, the song is (Cider Drinking Song)

  • Actually, it's Breton.

  • @rodrigocolor

Er... It's a traditional Breton song, not Irish.

  • @rodrigocolor It is not irish but breton origine. The song was written by two men of Guiscriff (Morbihan) about 1920. The air was popularized by Alan Stivell in 1970, and had a large success among bagadou as a march air.

  • @Aramiarmen

    I've just watched that video.

But original melody is still Celtic. :)

  • you're all a little wrong. the song is from brittany, a celtic part of france, and it has been coverd in multiple languages. (including dutch, german, ...)

    greetings from belgium.

  • @Aramiarmen Awesome! It's really fascinating...

  • @Aramiarmen formulation to DIE for.....Irish melody...Serbian composer and :German communists party named after a Greek Spartacus!!!! you are all idiots

  • @ChinaskyHenk Yeah but have i said anything regards to Spartacus? I think you misread dude. I didn't say anything regards to how the german communist party is formed. I just said they have used this march. Sparcatus leauge goes way back to Frankfurt school by the way.

  • @Aramiarmen the turkish song is good too

  • It was played in Scooter's "How Much Is the Fish". Do you remember?

  • yes!! this is not Goran Bregovic..THE CHIEFTAINS!!

  • You know, it's strange, but in our Ukrainian Carpathians this melody and dance is called "Arcan", but it's more fast.(Only men dance it). And there is a legend.Origin people in Ukrainian Carpathians tell that once upon a time people came from somewhere and they have played this melody and show how to dance.

    It's all amazing!
