@sovietninja3 yea, security gaurds on campus is a GREAT solution, here are some reason why security gaurds at school make it so much safer, 1) a security gaurd can not carry a weapon on school grounds 2) it would take 2-3 minutes for security to get to the threat and 2-3 minutes could cost 20-30 lives 3) no un-armed security gaurd in their right mind would face off with an armed criminal... seems like security at a school is the best solution possible... moron.

Why shouldn't she be allowed to carry a handgun in school? I think its a great idea for sane teachers who are qualified to carry handguns to bring them into school. It makes the school a lot more safe to know there is an armed teacher nearby should security not be able to make it in time to stop a massacre. Are school security even allowed to carry guns? It will make the students think twice before they decide to go all columbine at their school.

I'd have no problem with only security, the police and the military having guns. Provided I had one of them permanently watching me 24 hours a day 7 days a week. glenn is right here. teachers SHOULD be allowed to carry - then if a kid pulls a gun on the kids the teacher can shoot him and PREVENT AN EVEN BIGGER TRADGEDY.
If they are not willing to allow teachers to carry guns at schools, they should at least have several armed guards at the school. I read about one shooting where an unarmed guard was shot dead trying to stop an armed school shooter. If you won't have armed teachers, at least have a few armed guards!

@sovietninja3 yea, security gaurds on campus is a GREAT solution, here are some reason why security gaurds at school make it so much safer, 1) a security gaurd can not carry a weapon on school grounds 2) it would take 2-3 minutes for security to get to the threat and 2-3 minutes could cost 20-30 lives 3) no un-armed security gaurd in their right mind would face off with an armed criminal... seems like security at a school is the best solution possible... moron.

Why shouldn't she be allowed to carry a handgun in school? I think its a great idea for sane teachers who are qualified to carry handguns to bring them into school. It makes the school a lot more safe to know there is an armed teacher nearby should security not be able to make it in time to stop a massacre. Are school security even allowed to carry guns? Well then lets say there were no more guns... What if a kid brings a knife to school and stabs and kills 5 classmates or a baseball bat and does the same thing, do we ban those as well?? People have been killing each other for hundreds of years without guns so don't try to sell me or anyone on banning them will make violence and killing go away. I remember when planes were crashed into buildings by men holding nothing but "box cutters" and they killed thousands. Yet no ban on razor knifes.

I'd have no problem with only security, the police and the military having guns. Provided I had one of them permanently watching me 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I would assume that would mean then that everyone else in the country would have their own private security as well. I suppose we wouldn't need guns then. Until that happens though, I'm gonna stick with the ones I own.
