just dont put songs in your video that you dont have the rights too... or say in the side bar no copyright intended and say the video is strictly for personal or educational use...its all about copy rights, i dont know what world you've have been on for the last 5 or so years, cuz this shits been going on for a while, it just took longer for it to reach youtube... its like writing an essay, you cant just throw in a quote in your original piece, and make no mention of the author you took it from

Exactly, it's not like we make any money from it and plus, a lot of music artist's official youtube page often post up their music videos or songs now, and that wouldn't be making money either, so like wtf.

well despite your videos having been there for so long, the computers at google scanned the audio portion of your vid and cut the audio out. yes im aware i made the mistake of using one wrong word to describe what i was talking about so point taken. despite all this, you broke international copyright law and google is just protecting their own ass from getting sued because some vblogger used more than 5 seconds of a popular song. if you don't like it, you can delete you account.

If they have that much of a problem, they should try threatening to sue the actual makers of the video, or sue Limewire (that's where I get most of my music). And actually, for ONE of my old videos with the sound taken out )because of the copyright thing), I looked at the list of all those songs you're legally able to replace your video sound with, and the song I used on that video was on that list anyway, meaning I was able to have it on my video without getting the sound cut, so

They can't sue individual user accounts for infringing a copyright but they are more than happy to go after Google to sue them. To alleviate this, they have started getting permission from the music industry to use some music with videos, that's why you're seeing the list of songs when making the video. Youtube isn't a good place to express free speech anymore because there are rules and censorship, and anyone can flag a video and get it taken down.

I don't see why they can't sue individual accounts or at LEAST warn the user before their video is no longer useful (esp if it's a rant! *wink wink*). Censorship is plain stupid, if people want to go look for dirty stuff or swearing or whatever the reason for this is, they're gonna find it one way or another anyway. It's like weed, sorry, bad example LOL! Well in conclusion, Youtube has turned into total bullshit, but again, I wish they would at least WARN people about their video first.

I think we agree about these issues (and about weed) than we disagree. They could of been real assholes and just deleted your account like they do on other video sharing sites. I guess you could take the sound getting cut off in the video as a warning.

They all need to stop fucking around, they ruined that one video I had for NO reason since I was legally able to use that song anyway that I did use. Again, I don't care, it just sucks ass BIG-TIME and I'm really upset that they couldn't at least give me a warning first so I could save the videos first and edit them. It's bullshit.

you seem to have absolutely no understanding of the inner workings of youtube so please let me explain in ways your primitive female mind may understand: when you post copyrighted material on your video (such as playing a song in the background) it either gets flagged from other users watching or is scanned for the infringing song by a computer. obviously youtube cannot introduce a system of checks and balances where a human sits there and cuts out the infringing material so they just del ur vid

Where the bloody hell did that even come from? I'm well-fucking aware of their new bullshit copyright rule, that's why I made this video. I had a few videos on here for YEARS, and they decide to start this crap just now. It's bullshit, they ruined my videos completely, so again they can fuck themselves. I'm the one who had to delete my videos with the sound cut out, obviously you weren't even paying attention.
