ALL fake republicans commenting saying mcguiness should be president because he was in the ira are stupid.. mcguiness and gerry adams are rats who sold there own men out and worked with MI5 getting many they swore loyalty to shot or arrested
If Billy Hutchinson, the former UVF member who shot dead 18 year old Michael Loughran and 27 year old Edward Eric Morgan, were running for the Presidency of Ireland, and actor James Nesbitt rallied to his support, how would we feel?
@padraic2001eire Who cares how we would feel , the question is does he have the right and the answer is yes ... he was fighting in a war. I might hate him and i might vote against him but he was born on the island of ireland and in my opinion he has the same right to stand for any election he likes regardless of his past. I would also add .. i would most likely vote for him allot quicker than i would vote for norris !
@kargwain187 I have a pretty good idea how you would feel; disgusted that a distinguished actor - who happens to be from a Protestant background - would come out a lend his support to a former member of an illegal terrorist organisation, responsible for the death of many innocent people, most of them Catholics. Put yourself in that position and then think about how most Ulster Protestants feel about celebrities like Meaney, Fionnuala Flanagan and Roma Downey praising McGuinness the way they are.
@padraic2001eire How would you feel about a celebrity endorsing tony blai ... he is a child killer ... or obama , he has little 7 year olds genitals mutalitated ... why does it have to be just these two people that we limit ourselves to hate. Nearly every one of the countries we trade with have a leader covered in blood , perhaps we should stick to our convictions and not trade with them as they are child murderers but then again our economy would collapse entirely and that would effect us.
@kargwain187 Equating Tony Blair with Martin McGuinness is the kind of flimsy argument that terrorist sympathisers always use. Tony Blair was elected Prime Minster of the United Kingdom by a landslide victory of over 43% of the electorate. When the IRA committed many its worst mass murders - Birmingham, Le Mon, Claudy, Bloody Friday, the M62 Coach bombing - Martin McGuinness had never even stood for an election.
@padraic2001eire so you are saying that as long as someone is elected its fine and dandy to be involved in the murder of over 2 million people , the forced creation of 5 million refugees and the mutilation of children as a scare tactic ... ?? Something tells me they didnt vote for that mate. It doesnt really stand up to the 668 innocent civilians killed in 50 years now does it ?
@padraic2001eire Both your mathmatics and logic are flawed. You cannot denote level of crime by existing population. Iraq has 20x N.I population and 2 million is allot more that 20x 3500. Also one can conclude this issue took place in the united kingdom not just in one part and that has 60 million. Also the figuer 3500 involved both sides. Also, the figure in iraq only took 6 years to reach where as the hugely lower figure took 50 years. I dont think any murder is acceptable, no one else does
@padraic2001eire you badly need a calculator. Anyone who thinks that mathmatics is sound is not worth speaking to .... 7 million, what is wrong with your brain .. its 70,000. Im just not openly debating with someone who cant do basic math
@padraic2001eire Martin Mc never stood .........no? he stood up for the civil right marches in Derry ! When the Irish army in 1966 to 1972 were in Donegal looking into the North where Irish people were being killed Martin did what the so called army or Ireland should have done as so would the USA, Mexio, Spain done for their people. Martin did the same as the men of 1916!
@paddyontheball We're never going to agree. I just find it disappointing that someone like Colm Meaney would lend his support to a former member of an illegal terrorist organisation responsible for killing, maiming and bereaving tens of thousands of Irish people. I can only put it down to the fact that Meaney, like Fionnuala Flanagan and Roma Downey, has lived in the US for years, where McGuinness and Adams are treated as cuddly peacemakers, when the population of NI know they are anything but.
@kargwain187 England are a foreign government on this Island and their illegal occupation of the north is what Martin and Gerry dont agree with and thats why when Martin was only 18 back in 1970 thats why they did what the did and thats why they do as they do. There was a war in the North any way you look at it and the free state army of the south had not got the balls to stand up for the Irish in the north so someone had to.
he is the only one fit for the job. i really hope the irish people make the right decision
