@kinghugh1 well first u have to replace the dpad (if u don't know how I will gladly respond again telling u how) then u have to put the dpad grey squishy piece back on there is a tab on the outside if the gray pad the has a hole in it. Put the gray piece back on the dpad the twist it around until the tabs hole sticks on the stick (i know the mean thats what she said commenters) then I'll naturally fall into place!

When I move my character forward,they suddenly stop for a short time them start moving again, like the thumbstick has a shortage. Do you know how to fix this? Hey Totallylamerbot, Im modding my controller, Not rapid fire but to improve my controllability, I had a friend tell me to put playstation 3 analog sticks in a 360 controller and that it would work better, You used a play station 1 controller, so will my playstation 2 TRADE MARKED versions control sticks fit my analog stick thing, that they push onto? Because i had a playstation 2 controller before but it was a third party controller, and it was a pin type thing didnt fit will ps2 1 work?
@xDxSxCx I used analog sticks from an official PS2 controller in the red controller in this video and it worked just fine. I tried it with a 3rd party one, and it didn't work out so well.

Hey Robo, I ended up doing the same technique shown in the video for the Joysticks and d-pad after I replaced the standard green LED's with a blue/green combo and a all white ring on the two controllers i owned. All and all its works absolutely perfectly :D! Oh, but one addition, I had to sand down the casing around the joysticks quite a bit so that I could get full function of both analogs. Any other mods you have done recently we should know about though?
just a pointer dont just hold a circut bord like that they are built to work on very small voltages and if u touch any of it and u have a charge in your body you can easlier fry it its not THAT risky but why risk it at all touch anything contected to ground to remove any chance of a charge sorry if you already understand the concept.

I think the ps3 sticks suck cuz they start slipping when you sweat... 360 sticks are better with concave all you need is something like Gel tabs for $1 and they make it much better
actually you can make the dpad better by replace the face plate and getting a rubber dpad that is hidden in the center as the same as the ps3 its only considered better because their dpad is centrally hidden so you dont accidently hit left up instead of up but the reason xbox does this is for games like street fighter ect would rather use the dpad with being able to slide easier without too much slide like the analog try playing street fighter or mortal combat using analog or a ps3 controller
The spacer mod is a very worthy investment. I used the spacer from a pack of dvdrs to make mine and can crack out spinning piledrivers and joga flames with the dpad, like no ones business. it's a very worthy investment, because it equally distributes the contact pressure over the strike point. That's why the default dpad sucks so bad, because they changed from a split contact point to a weaved one. Compare the guts of a Controller S to a 360 controller and the difference becomes obvious.
Got any tips on opening the 360 controller without the very specific screw bit? I just got a wireless 360 controller off someone I know for free and the default ones have been weared down to the point where the only rubber coating is on the bottom, and very, very top edge. Also I prefer the ps2 stick anyways.
@GregLH0 The wired controller just uses a philips screws, if that's what you're asking... But I have a feeling you're referring to the security torx screws in the wireless controllers. You can still get them open without a tamper proof security torx bit. You need a T8 driver and a small flathead driver. Use the flathead to snap off the tabs preventing the T8 driver from fitting. It takes a bit of work, but it'll do the trick. And if you need more details, shred up your mancard.
the thing with the analog sticks is wrong the controll is evenly the same because with ps3 you only use the center of your thumbs and with 360 you use the center of your thumb depending on how you position it you can actually use your hole thomb
Is it just me or are the PS3 analogs on the Xbox sitting alittle too low? Some people recommend jamming in a tiny tiny tiny piece of paper in the little hole with a needle or something before putting them on.

But, I have heard people complain of the new sticks not letting you not going down all the way... but it's only what people have told me online, I haven't seen this in real life to really see the problem. The one's I've done don't touch the controller when you push down all of the way. Sorry I don't have a definite answer for you.

I did the thumbsticks switch a week ago on my custom purple controller, and PS3 thumbsticks are definitely better. However.... PS3 sucks.... And i did the dpad in my friends controller with a pringles lid :D win. Anyway nice vid or whatever... :D k bai

I think the ps3 sticks suck cuz they start slipping when you sweat... 360 sticks are better with concave all you need is something like Gel tabs for $1 and they make it much better

actually you can make the dpad better by replace the face plate and getting a rubber dpad that is hidden in the center as the same as the ps3 its only considered better because their dpad is centrally hidden so you dont accidently hit left up instead of up but the reason xbox does this is for games like street fighter ect would rather use the dpad with being able to slide easier without too much slide like the analog try playing street fighter or mortal combat using analog or a ps3 controller

The spacer mod is a very worthy investment. I used the spacer from a pack of dvdrs to make mine and can crack out spinning piledrivers and joga flames with the dpad, like no ones business. it's a very worthy investment, because it equally distributes the contact pressure over the strike point. That's why the default dpad sucks so bad, because they changed from a split contact point to a weaved one. Compare the guts of a Controller S to a 360 controller and the difference becomes obvious.

Got any tips on opening the 360 controller without the very specific screw bit? I just got a wireless 360 controller off someone I know for free and the default ones have been weared down to the point where the only rubber coating is on the bottom, and very, very top edge. Also I prefer the ps2 stick anyways.

@GregLH0 The wired controller just uses a philips screws, if that's what you're asking... But I have a feeling you're referring to the security torx screws in the wireless controllers. You can still get them open without a tamper proof security torx bit. You need a T8 driver and a small flathead driver. Use the flathead to snap off the tabs preventing the T8 driver from fitting. It takes a bit of work, but it'll do the trick. And if you need more details, shred up your mancard.

the thing with the analog sticks is wrong the controll is evenly the same because with ps3 you only use the center of your thumbs and with 360 you use the center of your thumb depending on how you position it you can actually use your hole thomb

@ShadowPenyah It was a gift, but they came out with limited edition pink & blue controllers a few years ago. You can't find them in stores any longer, but I imagine you could still get them online, like eBay, amazon etc. And thank you :)

Wish you could have demonstrated this, now that I think of it, this is more of a review than a guide ^^..
I was like WTF it doesnt fit in the hole?! Then I realized I had to put it inside the shell first. And then I had to shove it in the hole which made me think I was going to break it 8-(..
But THANKS for the video, this was the very first mod I did to the controller just because I had a ps2 controller :P

@sc3nt360 From what I've seen, there hasn't been a problem like that. But, I have heard people complain of the new sticks not letting you not going down all the way... but it's only what people have told me online, I haven't seen this in real life to really see the problem. The one's I've done don't touch the controller when you push down all of the way. Sorry I don't have a definite answer for you.
