I like this song. We sung it in our choir too. I believe that this group decided to name themselves A Cappella although not all of their songs are (perhaps) acappella (without accompaniment).
there is music in the background! not a capella. a capella is without any music and the many different chior voices and solos created a type of music. only voices
Actually, though those who say this isn't true a cappella are correct, the meaning of a cappella is, "in the style of the chapel." This is derived from Italian (the language of music) - "a" meaning "in the style/manner of," and "cappella" meaning "chapel".
@Adams9876 Technically, it's without accompaniment, generally used in terms of a vocal ensemble. We're getting a bit too technical, though, and saying basically the same thing. Also, for those that have been commenting about a cappella being the absence of music, you're forgetting that vocalists are musicians too. You'd be more correct to say without instrumental accompaniment. :)
A Cappella is just a fancy name for the choir. They sing a cappella pieces at the classical concerts but the annual pops concert is always done with instruments.
@KerryEllisLove Um excuse me but a Cappella requires more of a musician's ear and is much more difficult then singing with musical accompaniment. To say that a Cappella is for singers who compensate for not having music in their voices (which by the way is the most incorrect way to say "singers who cant sing" both literally and grammatically) is simply ignorant. Let's see you sing a Cappella and try to stay on pitch. :D

I also realize that this is simply the name of the organization. I only wished to clarify the term's meaning.

@poisonxheartx Yes thats the correct linguistic translation, but in musical terms, it means choir without accompaniment :)

...too bad this ISN'T a cappella. You'd think a choir named A Cappella would know the definition:
a cappella - without musical accompaniment

Too bad you don't know the definition, A Capella is like a form of a group who compensate the fact they have no music with their voices.
