@98Cathedral you can get them off amazon for about $15, but i would recommend getting the Pogo Sketch Pro (instead of the Pogo Sketch) because it apparently has way better responsiveness (or you can use it on more angles than the regular Sketch). I haven't actually used either of them yet, just ordered my iPad and the Sketch Pro a few days ago. I'll probably put up a video using the combo some time after Christmas.

By all means, if this is the level of work you want to do, certainly don't waste money on a Cintiq.

Check out the Asus Eee Slate 121. It's also a touch sensitive tablet, but will run all your art programs and comes with a pressure sensitive Wacom pen.

Honestly, if you're and artist want to be able to draw on the go on a device, a Tablet PC with a Wacom digitizer that has pressure sensitivity is a MUCH better choice than an iPad.

@kebrus The cheapest I found an Ipad 2 was about $630, and the app being used in this video is about 7 dollars. A good professional tablet, like a Wacom Cintiq 21x would cost about $2,000, while a Wacom Cintiq 12x (it's 12 inches, rather than 21) is about $1000. An Intuos tablet can be considered professional, but you aren't drawing on the screen like you can with an Ipad or a tablet monitor replacement. Plus, you can take the tablet wherever you want to go, not like a professional tablet.

@MrMargaretScratcher I think for everyday consumer items, there is a strong case to be made that they are better. It is not like such devices make much use of variable pressure sensitivity anyway. And at the end of the day, it is hard to convince people that something is better if they cannot achieve the results that they want. If you cannot do what you need with an iPad, there is always the option of buying a more specialist device with which you can.

@DJPeteJames Not exactly, a real tablet is much more like drawing on paper. On a graphics tablet you get pressure sensitivity options one major thing that drawing on the ipad lacks. You also can't rest your hand on the ipad to draw where as on a real graphics tablet you can much like an easel. So the touch screen makes it hard for most people. I happen to enjoy drawing with ipad but i will say it takes some getting used to like anything else.

@wjiew1 Yeah, you can't use a regular pen for the Ipad. The Ipad senses your touch by the electrical current flowing through your body, so they made special pens that transfer energy to the screen. Thats why he is able to use this pen. You should pick one up, they only cost a couple bucks. Probably $5.00 at the most.
