you're using the 'press button to focus on what you're looking at' mode ye? Because i've seen some other videos with it on constant AF and the camera seems a bit confused sometimes on what to focus :S
you'll have more lens options with the canon but better video with the gh1. of course you can always buy a lens adapter for the gh1, which many people do.

alot of shutter problem, jello everywhere, i bet you move it a little bit more faster like a soccer match, and we will see one of this CMOS problems. Im not saying that this images arnt wonderfull, but for video VIDEO CAMERAS.
Buy a proper video camera for professional video, CCD is the best.
14-140mm...that's the stock lens huh? Jesus christ that's beautiful, nice test...all the other tests out there are using really expensive glass, it's nice to see one with the stock that looks awesome.
I was actually thinking Nikon D5000 or the new Panasonic Lumix GH1 which is much smaller and way overpriced $1500, i cannot even afford it in my dreams.
Yea that is what i figured to, it will definitely come down, but I don't expect to fall below $700 any time soon, which is what I think it is really worth, especially after cutting down the mirror and prizm, I understand that this idea is has the major size advantage (which got me hooked), but are serious photographers sacrificing the key aspect of the "SLR" willing to pay a fortune for it?, All in the name of a less bulky camera, I don't believe so. So Panasonic plz lower the price.
Great video keep up the good work.

is it only me? I still heard the noise of lens focus, although panasonic boasted the silence of autofocus.

yes, since we can't select AF area on movie mode.
Contrast AF is a little bit slow behavior when re-focusing.

If you are in the US wait until it comes out the price may be lower than $1500 on the GH1. Be sure to check eBay.

Thanks Bike2310, that's good news. Is this in Japan somewhere? I never knew that your trains lean over so much when turning!
Looks like i will be getting this camera after all.
sloth100 2 years ago
You should!
Since I see my movies on Toshiba FULL HD LCD today, that was soooooo great quality.....amazing.
Also you shoud check Japanese train on YouTube.
The keyword is,,, Shinkansen, N700, etc. :)
bike2310 2 years ago
Is the train skewing at 15 seconds in due to rolling shutter issues? Bike2310, can you confirm?
Or is it just leaning into a turn?
sloth100 2 years ago
The train is just starting a turn.
At this time, I've never seen rolling shutter issues with GH1.
bike2310 2 years ago
I guess you mean AF is not used.
Vince1648 2 years ago
No, focusing is done by fulltime AF. :)
bike2310 2 years ago
Nice... Did you use some kind of 'refocus' button?
jsddesign 2 years ago
Right, the train shot is auto-AF, I used 'refocus" botton on leaves and flowers shot.

So that "popping" sound when the focus changes is the button press. Is it really that loud?
