what are your thoughts on just exporting to flash?

@maskedmillionaire I don't recommend it. Obviously if you are using for flash specific animation and websites than flash would be perfect, for youtube though I would not. Flash can definitely not stand up to the quality of a stand alone MP4 file. Plus you run the possibility of upload difficulties. Mp4 is definitely the best file format for the various different media standards.
