  • should have used cougar there just as silent or better and orange looks better than baby poo.

  • I would get Noctua fans but why do they chose that stupid desert sand colour? I mean how many towers are there that would suit that scheme? If it were black then id get them in an instant as my H80 fans are quite noisy.

  • lighting in this vid is terrible, but i like the ideas, though i do not much care about the noise level of my pc. i probably will not take the time to worry about it.

  • Q9400 @ 2.66Ghz - GTX 260- vertex 3 Max IOPS with 4Gb ddr2 ram:p It's a beast!xD I just upgraded some parts over the years, it's 4-5 years old I think, but I'm still good, going to get a new one in august

  • most cases have the back fan 120 /140 mm option your making corsair look good like wtf

  • woa your replacing his gpu when you could just replace the heatsink with a liquid cooled system

  • NCIX - you need to ship to europe... PLEASE!

  • Cosmos II with all fan slots taken <3

  • Put SSD's in, regular HD's make a lot of noise

  • eugh that back fan looks horrible

  • you can take my pc and make it quiet i have 2 fans and a cpu cooler with 2 fans :S its so loud lol

  • i'm running 18 noctua fans in my build

  • The fan colour looks bad

  • do u ship to the us ?

  • @card1100 yes they do

    they have a us website

    us{.}ncix{.}com/

  • i7 2600 after overclock will needs H90-H100 or NH-D14

  • @xManiSvK hah... funny :)

  • a good way to silence your system is to turn it off :)

  • 05:35 -- 05:40 listen VERY CLOSELY

  • @PatrickHandojo thats camera fart

  • @gaminglaps lolz

  • @PatrickHandojo Somebody ate too much beans. Hahaha

  • @GomorrahsEnd

or he was just trolling :P

  • i need watercooling or aftermarket cooling for my 6990 way too loud when high end gaming

  • @thehughis Arctic Cooling ACCEL-TT-6990

  • i have 10 fans, its a wind tunnel!

  • AMD FX 8120 clocked to 4,41 Ghz

    HD 6950

    8GB of ram G.Skill Ripjaws 1600mhz

  • In my R3 case the loudest isnt any of the 4 fans going on full RPM. Its the WD Raptor...

  • Boooooooooooring.

  • I would say, this is utterly unnecessary. I don't mind having a well cooled well performing gaming PC which is loud and noisy. If i learned anything here, that would be, silent air cooled PC = Low cooling performance. Nuff said.

  • as an additional comment, you can set a custom fan curve in msi afterburner as well, but I like it hardcoded into the vga bios ; the flashing is scary but the security of not relying on software (especially with a 0% default) is worth it in my opinion.

  • Hey Linus,

I prefer to set a custom fan curve on my GPU. it's super quiet on idle, (you can go below 40% with the right card/tweaks), and it ramps up when it gets in trouble. I've got my GTX 260 set to 0% below 60C (0% still has the fans running, but very low rpm, certainly quieter than 40% on my card), and i've got it ramp up after that during load.

idle noise really bothers me,while gaming load noise does not(well, within reason). I've got the fan curve saved right in the vga bios!

  • spam, spam everywhere.

  • this guy knows his stuff. thanks Linus

  • Is that the not-genuine message on the TV at the bottom right?

  • @jman10nnsss A snap on

  • The loudest thing on my PC is the video card fan. But I'm not going to be replacing it, since it's old as hell. In fact, some say it predates hell by five days.

  • my computier is shit as fuck

  • Running a 6970 2GB DCUII with 16 gigs of ram and a 2500k at 4.3GHz. I must say I am might proud of it.

  • @MortalSlayerStudio u can push a 2500K to 4.5 Ghz very easily i use 1.335 volts and an H60 "Water" cooler and never go over 65 degrees :)

  • NHD 14 is a better cooler for silence.

  • Why does the new fan have a beige/brown color scheme? Looks ugly.

  • @Venim85 paint it like i did

  • I'd love to replace my crappy antec tricool fan and the stock cooler on my 2500 / 560 ti

  • Noctua REALLY needs to stop using that absolutely terrible color scheme. looks like baby shit.

  • @emomotorgeek But its noticeable, and that's free advertisement on every picture of a system with a Noctua fan! I think that's the idea behind the very noticeable colors! :-)

  • @emomotorgeek its very nice with sabertooth boards

  • @emomotorgeek lol, you should try install them with led light in the case as well, the led light up the noctua fan and make it REAL NICE !!!

  • @trankhanhvinhan RED led light

  • @emomotorgeek Buy them and paint them, idiot.

  • @TortillaGaming Who would spend paint on fans?

  • @TortillaGaming not as easy as it sounds ... i have the flagship noctua and to paint it without ruining it is a huge challenge

  • @thehughis the flagship noctua? you mean the cooler? You're not supposed to paint the cooler, just the fans, it's pretty easy.

  • @emomotorgeek Agreed on the color scheme. Who thought that brown/beige was a good idea? Then again, computers were that horrid shade of beige for decades, despite the existence of colored plastic.

  • @emomotorgeek I kind of like it, it really show that it´s a Noctua fan :)

  • I would add a water cooling to my processor, cause the fan is louder then a fucken leaf blower!

  • what screwdriver is linus using??

  • I would not have accepted this 'upgrade' since I'm more interested in aesthetics over silence. The day I use poop-brown fans in my PC is the day I go colorblind.

  • best way to make ur pc run quiet use loud speakers. LOL

  • jesus those fans are hideous.

  • 5:35 fart

  • I hope I get work for summer so I could upgrade my mobo to one with SLI control and get aftermarket cpu cooler, case fans and maybe aftermarket cooler for GPU ;)

  • intel stock cooler in a 800D, trololololololoololol

  • @alankace i know right if you spend that much on a computer why wouldn't you buy a decent cooler?

  • Why would you buy all those parts and go stock cooler/

  • wait a moment. did i see correctly... does the twin frozr have 800 mhz and my MSI GTX 550 TI have 950? ._. confucked

  • @ogloc1dk core clock speed isn't everything; 550ti has less transistors, which means less processing power

  • @alankace that's true but i have 2 550ti's which out performs a 560ti and matches a 570 in alot of things some things it passes it in and somethings it barely passes a 560ti

  • @alankace although i know this is completely irrelevant to what your saying xD

  • @ogloc1dk yea but that's a 580 lol which is more powerful chip/larger chip, it also has more memory, a higher memory bandwidth and like alankace said more transistors when you keep that in mind the card will produce more heat overall thats why the frequencies are lower, my 550ti is at 975 but its certainly a weaker card compared to a 580, more transistors basically = processing power, and higher memory bandwidth means the card can processes more data faster

  • @alvarg Thanks for telling me. i could need that when its my birthday! :)

  • Lol... i'd be pissed if that was my computer being customized.... More of a downgrade then upgrade lol... Fans r the worse looking fans ever!

  • @Dotapurex1

Yup you got it right kid, color = performance. Red led increase cpu/gpu speed.

  • @1Macdo Da red ones go fasta!

  • @Dotapurex1 some people like quite systems more than loud ass fans, if u get those fans just buy some cold cathode lights and your system looks boss again

  • .be-quiet.net

  • Am i the only one noticing at like 12:00 that the big screen tv changes color to black and the thing pops up that his windows is fake ? xD

  • @thyzor If you change the hardware in your computer a lot (such as on a test bench like he uses) then Windows sometimes decides to go derp-mode and think it isn't a genuine copy.

  • @thyzor It's because he reformat's his ssd and hdd allot.

  • man i bet he was pissed when he got switched to watercooling his Cpu.

  • @gunraykilla why would he the corsair water coolers perform Super good!

  • @Buttfuckbysquirl shit i dont even remember what i posted. lmfao. ive heard good and bad about the corsair water coolers. how would the temps of someone with aircooling getting about 36c average on an overclocked quadcore at 4.65 ghz get on a corsair h100?

  • @gunraykilla idk man i have a H60 and that keeps my i5 2500K @ 4.5 ghz 1.335Volts 65 degrees at 100% load 6 hours of prime95 large fft...

  • @gunraykilla the h100 is a SOLID cooler. Its not far off from a entry custom loop. I get about 60C - 65C at 100% load on a 2700k at 1.4V 5.2ghz with a XSPC rasa rs240 and you're looking at nearly the same temps with the h100

  • My bad I didn't see the price

  • @Teku175 Nice how much did it cost?

  • your voice hurts my ears

  • @LIFESaGAME247 Turn your volume down.

  • @LIFESaGAME247 then don't listen to it and chose another video!

  • my pc specs are: AMD FX Bulldozer 4100 Quadcore @3.8Ghz

    2 XFX Radeon 6790 Crossfire

    1.5TB storage, 256GB ssd boot

    16GB G.Skill ram

    1000W PSU with blue lights

    GigaByte mobo (forgot model)

    Coolermaster Elite 430

total price: $930 including tax & shipping :)

  • @Teku175 very nice, except for the bulldozer FX I am hoping to get a 1050t 6core Phenom II

  • @Teku175 ur bullshitting thats not 930 dollars.

  • That is the biggest case I have ever seen.

  • Its probably quieter, but it looks like crap with those hidious fans compared to the stock gorgeous black ones. And if someone has spent £200+ on a 800D they're going to want it to look beautiful.

  • i like this series of silencing PCs, now what can you do for my MSI GT780DXR ? ;) i have to set it to power save mode in win7 with passive cooling int he powerprofile setttings, cuz the fan is loud just idling. any tips ?

  • nice review, but 2 things: 1st plz don't scream in the mic its an excellent microphone, we can hear you just fine, its a problem in most of your videos, its ok to speak normaly. 2nd you should wear a light color shirt or get a spotlight on the chassis for better lighting, a lot of the things you show are black, so its hard to see them sometimes. oh and ps don't spin the fans, its bad for them. the rest is nice work. if i was looking for a new full tower i'd definitely get it from youguys.

  • y he change shirts?

  • noctua fans actually look really nice

  • Whoever got that free upgrade is one lucky bastard :)

  • @TheInfired 3-4 case fans (around $20 each?), H70 watercooler ($100~120), NEW GRAPHICS CARD ($600). Goodness... (These prices are for Australia btw)

  • @stocker05 Yeah, and even worse, I live in New Zealand :(

  • @TheInfired me.

  • @TheInfired it was me!!!!!! i joke

  • @TheInfired HAHA yeah saved the lucky guy a load of heart ake :P haha

  • my gpu and cpu cooler!

  • What's that screwdriver? Really cool!

  • Fart @ 5:36

  • In Soviet Russia computer is silencing you

  • @vicinusjura97 stole my joke

  • spray painting it is always a choice...

  • Too bad the direction of that drive bay fan totally ruined the airflow design of that case which is to push air through the drives into the back not pull air from the drives into the shroud. Not to mention those fans are butt ugly and dont even go with the 800.

  • como puedo bajar el video con subtitulos en español?

  • LinusTrollTips

  • Not sure how quiet you were trying to make it, but those Noctua fans, even without the adapters are pretty flippen quiet. I one as a push fan for the CM 212 Evo and i dont even hear it in my HAF x. The 200mm fans also reduce the noise. Its funny how he was putting LNA on the H-70 then saying there's overclocking headroom lol. I wouldn't keep those on their if i were overclocking it.

  • i have a dell pc running a dell tk motherbored and a intel core 2 duo and nvidia quadro fx 550 video card and mushkin frostbite memory 2x4=8gb of ram

  • U NEED TO MOVE THE MIC FURTHER AWAY FROM UR MOUTH

  • need to use some of these tips i can hear my fans over my head set =(

  • why are silent fans so god damm fucking ugky

  • would this be a good gaming pc build? Coolermaster HAF X 942, Intel core i7 2700k, XFX ATI RADEON 6970 2GB, Asus P8Z68-V-GEN3 Intel Mainboard - LGA 1155, Corsair vengeance 16gb, XFX 850W XXX Edition Semi-Modular PSU 80+ Silver, LG Blu-Ray Reader & DVD/CD Burner (CH12LS28), Noctua NH-D14 All-In-One Extreme Performance CPU Cooler, Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB, OCZ Agility 3 Series 120GB 2.5" SSD Sata 6Gbs,
  • @TheJimmyman888 Some of that is a giant waste of money and youtube isn't really the best place to get build advice. Go to a site like OverclockDOTnet. Generally the people on those sites know what they're talking about which is much more than I can say for most people on youtube.

  • @StraightxXxEdge07 thankyou very much!

  • @TheJimmyman888 You're a fucking knob who is trying to show off and stroke your epene. Fuck off.

  • @GrimsAllure ??

  • @GrimsAllure He was asking for help you dipshit

  • @TheJimmyman888 2700k is not lga 1155 :s

  • @Buttfuckbysquirl yes it is o.O

  • @YouEatMyDust oh you said it was, sorry didnt see that

  • @YouEatMyDust lol its ok :P

  • @TheJimmyman888 it is , my bad xD

  • Why does Noctua produce fans that look like poo..? These "silent" fans are so ugly to look at, I would rather accept the noise than this shitty crap shit. Holy.. Shit!

  • @SinanLovesYT rofl true dat

  • @SinanLovesYT So they stand out and people know you have their fans. It's a brand thing. I'd rather have the better cooling and silence and not care what they look like. They're hidden inside my system anyway as I'm not one for garish side windows or flashing lights and crap everywhere like most fans seem to do these days.

  • @TalesOfWar Yeah, you're right in a way. It's the same thing with Apple.. It is just my view of Noctua, I'm sure some people don't care about the colors anyway. I do because I like windowed side panels, the bigger the better. :) Didn't want to offend Noctua fans. (Y) And to tell the truth, I didn't expect it to be a top comment haha. :D Good day sir.

  • @SinanLovesYT paint them

  • @SinanLovesYT well the thing i do is that i watch my monitor not my computer with the side panel off... besides no light inside the case... durrhhh you are derp

  • @SinanLovesYT the reason they are that colour is because most companies spray them with either black or w/e colour and the noctua fans have no colour sprayed on them to reduce performance.

  • @SinanLovesYT if you want fans that are silent and looking good, you have to use

    bequiet! fans.

  • Which Case do you Recommend

    1) NZXT Phantom

    2) Corsair Obsidian 800D

    3) Coolermaster HAF X

  • @fshlps haf x

  • @fshlps Obsidian !

  • how lo is it in my pc i use standard fans wit a 5770 and the lowdes component is the 6x1tb black wd hdd going at it

  • "ultra-low noise adapter"

looks like 2 connectors and a resistor...

    lol

  • @bmw2go11 thats because it is...

  • @PortalAnim :[)

  • thats a big cpu case

  • this is so not good cooling... low noise= low RPM s = bad BAD temps... CPU will die if u OC it and cool it with H70 at min fan speeds...

  • @rops84 You see, what you are there is wrong.

RPMs =/= air moved. Lots of fans are different, moving different amounts of air at different RPMs and different noise levels. Noctua fans move lots of air at low RPMs, generally.

  • this was uploaded in feburary??!?!?!

  • Why are those fans colored that way? ugh

  • I dont see any reason to use a H-70, get directly CPU heatsink NH-D14 or C14 you will save 50$.

  • @1Macdo well the h70 is cheaper then both of those so idk how u save $50

  • @letsplaywow16 He change the stock fan on the H70 for 2xNoctua NF-P12.

  • @1Macdo even then its only $15 more for way better cooling

  • @letsplaywow16 they are 24$/each fan. Sorry to tell you but closed loop watercooling are not "that" good. The NH-D14 beat the H70. Only cons. is you need large case and maybe forget using high profile ram in dual fan mode.

  • My computer doesn't just make noise, it screams, lol.. to hell with silence, I prefer maximum cooling and maximum overclocking and always have my fans at 100%. I'm running an i7 930 @ 4.00GHz, a Gigabyte GTX580 1.5GB (fans @ 100% ofc), 6GB Patriot Viper DDR3 memory @ 1600MHz, all on a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R motherboard and it's all running at 30°C - 35°C idle and on full load (with Prime95) the CPU doesn't get past 75°C and the GPU rarely exceeds 60°C.. I say the noise is well worth it.

  • @dozzpollen That's not even that cool. Mine is completely silent and the CPU (i7 2600K @4.5GHz) doesn't exceed 55 degrees, and the GPUs don't exceed 68 degrees.

Idle the temps on the GPUs are 35 on the top card and 30 on the bottom, and CPU is about 30 degrees.

    Using a noctua NH-D14 btw.

  • @DL390 Yea, but X58's are way hotter (and power hungry) than sandybridge and I had to put my voltages up make the OC stable. What graphics cards are you using anyway?

  • @dozzpollen I was running dual 580 DirectCUIIs, but I kept getting faulty ones, so I downgraded to dual 560ti DCUIIs.

This is true that the X58s are a bit hotter, but my point that all that noise and everything is for temps that are unnecessarily low. If you want temps that low all the time why don't you just go liquid?

  • @DL390 I've never had a water-cooler (except a crappy H50, but that's not really the same) so I'd have to learn how to plumb it in and they seem pretty high maintenance too, whereas with air (I have a Prolimatech Armageddon) you only need to dust it every few weeks. On top of that they're really expensive, so unless I was persuaded that it's worth the cost and all the hassle, I'd prefer to stick with noisy air cooling... and sorry to hear about the faulty cards, that sucks man! : /

  • @dozzpollen Yeah if I lived in the US or Canada I'd buy through NCIX - bet I wouldn't have had the problem then lol Australia always gets screwed.

The Armageddon is excellent, but if it's noisy then get a Noctua NH-D14. At full power it makes no sound at all is about the most effective air cooler out there. Yeah, water cooling is expensive but you just don't need those low temps - lower the fan speeds a bit and let the temps go up. Fans will run longer, quieter and with less dust.

  • @DL390 Funny you should say that because Australia happened to get the 3GB versions of the GTX 580 before anywhere else.. didn't make much sense seeing as both nVidia and AMD are based in the US.. : /

Yea, I was considering doing that, atm I'm using 2 Scythe Slip Streams,

    cdrinfo.com/images/uploaded/Scythe_Slip-Stream140.jpg

because they move up to 94 CFM, but produce 36.4 dBA of noise each, which does make for a very loud PC.. Their rounded shape made them awkward to fit too!

  • @dozzpollen The Noctua fans, though ugly, are absolutely fantastic. Use the ones that come with the D14.

Also, yeah the 3GB 580 came out here early but the Gigabyte one is ugly and the Gainward ones are all faulty.

  • @DL390 lol, I personally think the Gigabyte one is a really nice looking card, of course that's down to opinion at the end of the day, though I bought it for the 3X windforce cooler and not so much for the looks.

But yea, thanks for the tip, I will certainly look into it! : )

  • @dozzpollen You like blue PCB? o_O

  • @DL390 Hell yea, I have an X58A-UD3R motherboard too, it all works for me because my rig has a blue theme, blue LED fans and even blue memory modules, lol. I very much like blue! I take it that you don't? lol
