Mei was upset about Gabu eating mice. Gabu's doing that out of his friendship with Mei; as we saw earlier in the movie, Gabu had to fight a lot to put his friendship before his instincts to eat Mei. So you would think Mei would be more grateful. But Gabu is a carnivore, a simple fact. It's an unpleasant reality that Mei has to learn to accept.
