  • ....so what does his brother have to do with a chick with black hair?

  • @brennan2185 His brother has nothing to do with the song ... but he was wishing him all the best as he was going to America.

  • @brennan2185 He was wishing him luck--it might also be a favorite of his brother's.

  • Awesome song...but what does his brother have to do with anything?

  • @brennan2185 His brother is Luka Bloom, changed his name to make a name in his own right, rather than always being Christy's brother.

  • Hey everyone, please check out my version...I love Christy so much, figuring you guys will be hard to please so any tips welcome :-) /watch?v=aPgqvjLdFjE

    Lol don't bash the brows!

  • sounds alot like the Ballad of Mairead Farrell.

  • fantastic

  • I've taken for granted it was his song... But, so who wrote it then?

  • @GreatBonFire

Good question! Don't know, but Christy learned it from someone called Hamish Imlach and it seems to be an American song that came from Scotland hundreds of years ago!

The US can be a great holding point/ source for these old songs, that our forebears took with them across the Atlantic! Let us not blame the children for what we have forgotten!

  • @DonegalRaymie201 all celtic folk songs were written in america. very good. are you a mormon?

  • @kilomeister

"Celtic" music/songs are never written in America brainless! But they are often preserved there, taken by & cherished by the Scots & irish who emigrated there!

  • legend!!!!!!!

  • must apologise for my user name, its my daughters account im on.

fantastic version of a great song BUT i think i prefer the cara dillon version.

andrea corr also has a good go at it

  • @xxxcherylcolexxx

I disagree, I listen to almost only metal music, but this is such a powerful version of this song, and the way Christy presents it is perfect aswell because you know that he is so passionate about it, he is enjoying it, therefore anyone watching will enjoy it aswell.. Christy doesn't need an orchestra behind him to show everyone how great a song this is, I prefer the more raw approach that Christy goes for.

  • @xxxcherylcolexxx ...

but give Christy credit, you can see that "HE FEELS" his music, I thjink he's cult and I've seen him perform all over the globe, hes straight, hes true, hes an artist, an a good Irish one at that....

Get up Christy, yer a lad... (I'm flying over from Germany tommorow, would love to see a gig of yours back on the auld sod if possible)

  • i am torn.....

fantastic version of a great song.
