Nice thank you for sharing.... I will be building rabbit/chicken coop soon and found your videos very helpful, same question as nick is the wood treated or not and if not would it hurt if it was?
I have watched many of your videos and wanted to thank you. I also wanted to know if you used treated lumber for the rabbit cages, and if you did, would it hurt the rabbits if they ever got to chew on it? Thank you again.
I love your pen. How much did it take to build? I want one like this. Anywhere you know that can show me step by step how to build this? Thank you so much!
Great set up. Very user friendly. Nice job. Question: Have you ever thought about devising a funnel or trough system to catch all the manure and run or flush it to a designated place?
I am so very jealous. We have 4 rabbits right now and still learning. I love your set up. We are building a chicken coop now. I did notice that your rabbits are not using nesting boxes. I have one female that has built her nest outside of the box. I moved it and she destroyed it. Now she has built another one outside of the box. I have removed it since she does not want it. I wanted to know is this common?
@sunshinerinker i wouldn't say common , but it does happen. (bad habbit) It would be fine in the sumer but all your kitts will die in the winter:-( My rabbits don't keep a box when they have been pregnant for 27 days i give them a box and they will have they babys on the 30 or 31 night. I remove the box when the kitts are 3 weeks old. To answer your question try to make her use the box .
@sunshinerinker But if she has the kitts on the wire you have two options. One, let her raise them on the wire sense it is summer and then get rid of the doe before winter. Two, if you like her and want to try and keep her. When she has her litter ( using her hair and straw) move the kitts into the box. There is a chance she will reject them 30% that is the chance you are taking to keep the doe. p s If possible breed another doe with her so you could foster n worst case scenario. hope i helped.
@JRSKICK1 yes sir. Its a FFA project I have been doing, I was wanting to expand though. As of now I have one large hutch and one small one. You have an excellent rabbitry :)

I want to do this, but my problem is what do you do with the rabbits during the winter months? Do they sustain the cold or do you gotta bring em in?

Why not put a door on both sides of the chicken pen in case you need to grab one and they run to the other side?
NESurvivalPrep 10 months ago
@NESurvivalPrep Because i can only be at one door at a timelol;) Mainly because i don't need extra doors for my kids to leave open....
JRSKICK1 10 months ago
@JRSKICK1
Ah, see I figured if you had to catch one it would be a 2 person job.
The kids leaving the door open thing makes sense though. :)
