this has become one of my all time favorites and i really enjoy cranking it and rolling down my windows and cruising around... i cant pinpoint one thing in the song that i like because it all just goes together so well i just melt when i hear it
saw you live tyler bryant at vancouver you i will say this kid is going to become the new jeff beck he wow'd me at vancouver 2011 he was using that same guitar during the show
Saw him come out with this nice guild...fuck how can man solo on a guild like its a fucking strat ill never know! damn when he jammed his pink strat with Jeff beck last night fuck i shit my pants, but dont worry i wasnt the only one ;)
@DomestikMC I've been trying to figure that out myself. I'm thinking drop-d ? or possibly open g? although I don't think it sounds that high.... your thoughts?
No, it's for sure in Open G. I've been jamming to it on my Taylor. When I met him, he taught me Kick The Habit and it was in Open G. Plus I know he loves the Delta Blues, so Open G is what I'm sure it is in. Same with his slide version of "Lipstick Wonder Woman".
It is most certainly Open G. When Tyler opens for Jeff Beck, he uses one certain guitar for Slide, and another for everything else. On his slide guitar, he plays "Kick The Habit". He has told me, and showed me in person that "Kick The Habit" is played in Open G. During the live show, he never changes the tuning for his slide guitar. He also plays "Shackles" on it. Therefore, "Shackles" has to be in Open G.
@masteryoyo28 The nice thing about music is that you can play and sing in whatever key suits you. He actually acknowledged on his Facebook page that it's open C#. Maybe he plays it in another key live - I have to admit that I have been so taken by his live performances that I probably wouldn't care what key he played in. He can do anything at all and I'll love it.
Wow can I say I just got the chills....I am a music lover and this kid gave me goose bumps. I discovered him from a documentary I was watching on Robert M Knight the acclaim rock photographer. Needless to say I pause the Netflix and logged on to youtube to look for more.
Woah bro. I am speechless. This stunned me and many more of your videos. I get a Jack White vibe from this which isn't a bad thing at all ...keep it up because I'm loving it. (:
@rawwkinfool theres no such thing as an emo look you tool, he looks just like any other rockstar, its just emo assholes started dressing like that then suddenly its all emo
Wow.. Great playing dude! Saw you on Rock Prophecies, had to see more.. You truly got a gift.. The music industry needs more of you and less of "J.B." I hate to even say his name but you know where i'm getting at. Rock on brotha!
Amazingggg! reminds me of Jack White but fuck its good to see someone so young bringing blues back.. spesh when todays young artists consist of justine beiber and co. keep the soul and come down under soon!!
Coolest artist I've discovered in the last five years, hands down. Smokin' chops, great voice, and soul to match the greats. To have this kind of talent at such a young age is astonishing. You'll undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest artists to ever pick up a guitar. You've made my year. =o]
@Theshamham What?! If you listen to other Tyler Bryant stuff, you'll realize that he is nothing like Jack White. Just because somebody has a slide doesnt mean that they are copying jack white, who by the way is copying Son House, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, and Robert Johnson. Plenty of people have sounded like this before Jack White did. By the way im not dissing on Jack, i think he is amazing. Im just saying that nobody is entirely original and its ok to emulate other artists in your playing
@Patcha1993 dude hes like... singing into a distorted blue harmonica mic.. with an electric archtop with the same tone as jack white. but ur right. its cool to emulate other artists. jack white emulates son house so there you go. i mean i try and emulate jack white, son house and this tyler kid. there all blues beasts. but im just saying he sounds a little like jack white with the mic and stuff
Why would this be on a day off...if you want to be a true badass and get me to buy your music you should play this on recording days...dont let that record company try to take the blues out of you and turn you into some Nashville puppet...
@JizzOnAScotsman Thanks, that's great...many years ahead for him. Being in my 40s it's good to hear younger people playing like this, i.e. long live rock n roll.
@Grendelmonster8u I know, it's good to know that the rock n roll scene isn't dying or anything :) I'm 16 and I adore this kind of music, but obviously wasn't alive when all the greats were around and so missed out on all the good stuff. Instead I was born into the generic pop generation...
@JizzOnAScotsman It seems harder these days to find good/new rock n roll...I know it's out there, it's just all scattered. Friends' links and what not help connect. With someone like, say, Jimi Hendrix, we've had over 40 yrs to know him & share with friends; I didn't really know his music until the late 70s when in my early teens. It is why Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd *still* have top-twenty selling albums worldwide over 30 yrs.
Great P-90 tone! What is the fuzz pedal? The ZVex or the other that look an osciloscope? The bass frequencies are from tone knob of Gibson guitar or what?
hipster blues! and it's fuckin awesome!
