This is exactly how you should be interacting and teaching your child! I love seeing the things we are taught in class being implemented in real life! :)
Here is how he became interested in numbers and an update on what he is doing now....for anyone who is curious:
He learned to count by watching the digital clock change in the morning with me while i tried to stay in bed a few minutes longer. We would celebrate every number change by saying "yea!". We also practiced counting numbers backwards by watching and saying the numbers as they counted down on the microwave everyday...
@k00gan But it wasn't repeating, and anybody can tell, too. It's obvious he recognizes when a number is out of place, like when he said 8, and she put 10 instead. He recognized that what was written was incorrect--that there is proof that he knows his numbers.
maybe it is too hard for you...this is not a lazy mom!!! Hopefully she continues to home school him when he is 5 and on so he doesn't have to slow down for all the lazy parents' children.

In India, 2 and 1/2 yr kids can count up to 100. A very common thing here !!

Repeating, repeating, repeating, and... repeating. Nothing to do with smartness. Just memory.
