@sonofnadd Caruso wasn't better or even near the greatness of Pavarotti. Your Grandparents just say that cause Caruso was the best of their time. But just like sports, with time the field gets more competitive and players nowadays crush players of the past. It's like someone saying Jerry West was better than Michael Jordan. Just isn't the case. The times evolve. Nobody has yet to match Pavarotti. Yet. Hope that helped. ( ;
Lo que debe ser sentir ese aplauso tan afectuoso de su público. En otros cantantes la audiencia cumple en ocasiones se transforma en una presión extra. En el caso de Pavarottti, él se alimentaba excelentemente bien de su público y al revés también.
Wish the crowd would hold their applause until after the song was over. I want to hear the music and Luciano not classless people clapping and hooting over THE only voice that should be heard.
I am a fan of Jackie Evancho and only watched Povarotti sing Nessun Dorma to see how it is. Jackie Evancho sang in in Houston and made the windows vibrate. Lisa Jackie's mom asked that it not be uploaded so there are no negative comments.
what i love best about this clip, is i remember watching it at around 14 or 15 on PBS, and the audience repeatedly interrupted the stars with appluase, yet most would shoosh them, and i learned then that in Europe i guess, or for opera singers, you wait until the end to laud them with praise - not at the beginning just because you are happy for the song choice, but for the performance
PLUS i love how at the end he reaches for joy because he knows he hit his notes spot-on
Absolutely fantastic. Critics pan Pavarotti for his technique, but there is so much that makes him great. He is the consummate showman--he absorbs the audience in his performance. His voice is so bright and resonant that he is truly the finest tenor in recording history.

@greekheroes Critics have no talent. That's why they are fit to judge someone like Pavarotti. It's why film critics make me laugh. None of them have any experience or talent in any aspect of filmmaking. So who are they to judge.
Look at how this audience reacts to Luciano. How they love him! Unbelievable!!! They KNOW they are in the presence of THE GREAT ONE. He is absolutely the most incredible voice in all of history.
i 'm 17 years and listen this music ,his voice .. make me cry :') ..this is so beautiful!!..so powerful!!..:D i love it.

My grandpa & other old people say that Enrico Caruso was better; too bad every Caruso recording I've heard sounds like boo-boo.

A better version of this song is sung by Placido Domingo. Check it out. Pavarotti will remain a legend.

Pavarotti truly had the lion's "golden roar," as a soprano (I forget who) said of tenors' voices.
