I have heard that if you have you own child but you have adopted or are considering adopting later in life you will love/like you biological child more. Is this true?

@ilytomuch Some people let it get like that, unfortunately. But thats not necessarily true for everybody who adopts then has a biological kid or vice versa.

Adopting is not pointless. Considering I am adopted. It gives kids a chance at a much better life then they would have had. If I was still where I was born with my real mother, the one I share my genes with, I'd probably be working already. And Im a teen.

It may be pointless to you. But it isn't when it saved your ass. Anyway. Most people don't have kids for the purpose of spreading genes. They have kids because the process feels good. :]

@JCLYM totally agreed! my dad was adopted, and if he wasn't, he wouldnt be the same guy he is today, and his mom was with a man who didnt want children. Plus, some people have genes that are highly likely to predispose their kids to awful diseases, and it provides an opputunity for them to mutually benefit by adoption

More like just ignorant. My mother and auntie are adopted. If my mum wasnt adopted her real mother prolly would have killed her and as for my auntie she would be dead stoned all the time prolly. Adoption is good given the reason why they were up for adoption

Adopting is NOT pointless. If a couple is not able to conceive, then why spend huge amounts of money messing around with your reproductive organs, when there *so* many children out there who are in desperate need of parents who will actually care for them? Sure, it would be way cool to give birth to your own child, but isn't it worth sacrificing that for the sake of a child in need? Many children face the prospect of a horrible life or even death if not for adoption...

i dont want to have children because i would pass down some bad genes. I have a history of severe heart disease, type 2 diabetis (at an early age), and cancer in my family so i just cant do it!!!so i plan to adopt later on in life : )
